This is very traditional baju melayu. - 2nd choice is baju melayu Slim Fit. More modern and fashionable (like Sho San bought in the video). Taka try baju melayu johor style, it's a bigger style and worn slightly differently. With the sampin(skirt) worn under the top. So ask for johore style in the shop ok.
there is a lot of confusion regarding Char Kway Teow/char kuey teow. Char Kway Teow is a Chinese noodle dish. In Hokkien, 'char' means stir-fried, and 'kway teow' refers to flat rice noodles. So it is stir-fried flat rice noodles. If you translate it into Malay language, it is kuetiaw goreng ('kuetiaw' is an official spelling for kway teow in Malay language). If you go to a Chinese restaurant or stall, Char Kway Teow will always be fried kway teow (without gravy) because it is what it is. Somehow, Malay people confuse the dish name, thus Char Kway Teow becomes Kway Teow with gravy while Kway Teow goreng is a fried kway teow. TLDR; Buying Char Kway Teow at chinese vendor = you get fried kway teow (kuetiaw goreng) Buying Char Kway Teow at malay vendor = you get kway teow with gravy Buying Kway Teow goreng at malay vendor = you get fried kway teow (kuetiaw goreng)

Btw Id like to see your opinions on tempe. Its fermented soy beans. In Japan I think you have natto, which is runny, but here we have tempe which becomes a solid block of fermented soy beans. Sometimes its fried plain with some salt, but I like it in Jawa cooking where they add so many extra things such as glass noodles, long beans, potatoes, and sambal. The dish you should look for is "Sambal goreng Jawa". Eaten with plain rice, its just heaven on earth

Taka kun, just right in front of the Masjid India there, have one shop specialise for big size baju Melayu.you can see one plus size mannequin there infront of the shop.
