Been a Malaysian for 30 years and this is the first time I felt like I want to wear a Baju Melayu, damn they look good ! Also Im happy to see the cross culture and our Malaysian going into Korean Tv Shows ! This is huge !

We went to Korea for academic trip on 2019, we visited university with baju kurung, baju melayu, and a few traditional clothes with tanjak as well. We used public transport, everyone watched us with curiosity. Some of them compliment us 😂
I wished I had the courage. I would feel like I'm performing for a circus 😂. But I guess we gotta embrace it.

I'll also do these missions in indonesia from 1st to 4th raya.. while all indonesians will wear their flashy raya attire, i'll only wear plain baju kurung for the entire trip.. i really am very proud of baju kurung as for me it appear modest, gentle, polite, humble and with just the attire itself shows the whole malay women qualities.. so i'm very proud of it 🤭

As experienced HR, for dress code, to comply formal attire using The National Traditional Attire, you need to wear it as complete set. For this video both actors not wearing “songkok hitam” on their head. Even the actual head gear is “tengkolok” So it still in complete. It is a pardon if they did not used “capal” (a type of traditional men’s footwear), these two guys wear appropriate formal shoes.👌🏻

I’ve done this before. Travel to korea and planned it with my friend to wear baju kurung the day we visit to Nami Island.Proud to show our baju kurung because there was one Aunty said the attire look beautiful. Sure it’s comfortable outfit for travel 🫶🏼

aww this brings back memories. when I first visit Korea back in 2015 or 2016 (don't remember😅) I wore baju kurung to go jalan-jalan in Seoul the whole day and got a lot of stares😂but I didn't care, I was proud in my baju kurung. the friend I was with said she was a little embarrassed by the stares 😂(she wore plain clothes) the year before that we planned to wear baju kurung when we visited Taj Mahal but ended up not doing it so I thought the next time I went abroad I must execute this plan. It just happened that we went to Korea that year, a country that was almost foreign to Malaysia and it's culture back then 😆

The concept of baju melayu does still the same from 60’s. But over the time, the attire it self was modernized to keep up with the trends. Compared to the old time, in my personal view, baju melayu are more attractive if it fit the wearer instead of wearing it loose. It look neat and sleek… to say baju melayu nowadays the same as in the 60’s… definitely not…. But as long the identity of this traditional attire remains. My vote for the modern baju melayu unchanged.
