Dave, I have a 1968 and this is same top I have. Doesn't fold back into the back seat. Needs to be stored in the boot or as us Yanks like to say "The trunk" Your step by step approach is the best I've seen and that's how I do it now. Great tutorial! Love your dog too!
I put the pack away hood up for the first time on the B today Thanks again David, could not have done it without your video ! I had a ‘67 B back in college and I think it must have been the fold away type , because I have no memory of doing this before
Thanks for your comment. I’d recommend leaving it up on the car as much as you can leaving them in the folded position does tend to let them shrink. I don’t think it’s UV. I think it’s just age of the material. Keep it installed , stretched out onto its pins and covered. You’ll get a good result.
Great demonstration. I have a 1970 with exactly the same hood/top. The car is also tartan red. I have noticed that the top shrinks a bit year after year. I guess it is because it is exposed to UV light from the sun. Regards from Denmark.
15 years ago when i first bought my Roadster i could not put the roof back up after opening it, Shortly after i removed the frame and hood sold it and replaced it with a rubber bumper hood and frame. Now im restoring the car im left looking for a pack away frame lol
Hi Norbert. That was a ‘66 B but I am not away of changes to the pack away frame. Mgsales have a screen showing different frames and years. Link below. Good that helps. www.mgsales.com.au/pages/mgb-c-v8-weather-equipment-hoods-fittings-hoods-1
I don't see any need for all this elaboration and back and forth. The clips at the windshield are levered, so no need to do them too early in the piece. Spread the frame out completely, lay out the hood, secure all the back, do the big clips at the windshield, then all the other interior clips. MGB owner 1971-79.

Cheers for that 👍🍻
You'll like yourself more if you clamp the header after the lift-a-dots.

Try this... mossmotors.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=Convertible+Top.. Just make sure you choose the right year
