The reason this looks so good isn't just the fact that the graphics have a huge improvement. It's the fact that it still manages to capture WoW's style and vibe which are core to its visual appeal. I am gonna tell you right now, if they rebooted wow and it looked like this. Even I would go back to wow. Like honestly that is all they need to do. Go back to regular wow on Unreal 5
They need to uses Classic Plus as a platform to overhaul the game engine and restart the entire timeline. Work their way back to WoD and actually FINISH THE EXPANSION.
imo thats what they should've done with classic + redo everything once they hit the branch that made the game worse byt statistics ( cata) destroying the world, making everything dead n gone. And have WoW 2 ready with a new engine etc by that time to transition from classic + cata . Keep old wow alive for them but push new wow instread.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind if they took a bit of a different order of how they did expansions in a potential WoW2/ true Classic +. Looking back, it kinda feels like we killed off a lot of the big names from the Warcraft games fairly quickly when you consider how long WoW's been going.

Impressive for its own thing... but absolutely NO THANKS! The best thing about the wow art style is that it not just another game chasing the "realistic" style. That's a huge part of why it has lasted as long as it has, since the art style is not instantly outdated. And that with a hand painted style they get to be more artistic with the colors/textures.
@@another_turtle The game is 20 years old and is still the most popular MMO out there. You shouldn't be asking the people who haven't seen games evolve over 2 decades, you should be asking the people who have. You can mod Wind Waker's textures to make it look like it came out yesterday. You can't do the same to something like Oblivion, despite all the mods. For MMOs, stylized is so much better for so many reasons. The lighting in realistic-looking games will look especially dated as tech progresses. There's also the matter of how many people can actually run the game. If you want a huge community, you want stylized.
@@tucci06 No one under the age of 25 plays MMO's anymore, its the only big MMO besides other niche ones. Also it has a very dedicated addicted fanbase. Objectively it looks bad and is severely outdated. Modern wow is literally just a spreadsheet simulator you could play the game just by reading text.
@@another_turtle Yea well then tell me how are the more "realistic" looking wow killers going that were supposed to overthrow wow with their fancy graphics? Spoiler most of them are either dead and gone or look like ass because realistic graphics from 2010-2018 did not age well at all.
Dude this isn't even possible. People can't play WoW with a million abilities being casted by everyone with those graphics. Dragonflight proved that it's only getting worse. People can't even raid with decent computers anymore because they get below 30 fps.
It baffles me that after so many years we haven't had ONE, just ONE game with graphics like this in the WOW universe. A singleplayer game or a coop game where you just follow and awesome storyline and bosses, that's it. Really.
Its just a vid... GL getting that into actual gameplay.... I can still see some flickering/stuttering here and there. It looks amazing but still question urself... how many pc gonna run it, and how many ppl gonna complain due to visual bugs, and how many elitists gonna be like "oh my skill gets hurt- game is slow there is latency", ether way we know what kind of community we are we gonna be more ungrateful in the end rather than thankful
you guys ever wonder...what if they came out with a deal that's like: double your subscription so like 30-40$ per month but you get all the mounts/cosmetics whatever. i wonder how many people'd do that.
When some one moved a chair in the past. Blizzard would still be the studio we knew and loved. And they introduced WoW 2 with upgraded graphic and up to date gameplay!
This is incredible. I would do anything for a entire remake of WoW looking like this, Classic era, full populated pvp server of casual players. No mods allowed. Pure OG WoW with graphics like this...... fuck. Just upload my conscience into it and ill live there.
I really feel if they did or are creating a WOW2, with current day tech - along with going back to what made WOW so special in the first place - they would literally make a killing.
WoW's unique art style is one of it's defining characteristics and what makes the game stand out from the rest. That doesn't need to be changed. It's not supposed to look realistic.
What might be kind of cool would be the exact story and timeframe of WoW 1 but you play as a character from one of the “evil” factions you were trying to stop in WoW and you fight against the Horde and Alliance. Like you could be one of the Scourge, something from the Burning Legion, a Naga, etc…. You are tasked with stopping the alliance and Horde. Stormwind, Orgrimmar, etc could be raids. Various other smaller cities and important Horde/Alliance places could be 5 man “dungeons”. Basically you just live the story again from the opposite perspective. Keep in mind that most “evil” factions don’t view themselves as “evil”. So your actions would still feel like you were doing “good” for your and your kinds survival.
On November 23th, WoW will turn 20 years old. The fascination WoW once had is long gone. But seeing stuff like this... gives me hope that a visual overhaul might give me similar feelings when I first played this game.
Man, this is just a reminder that we could have had a Warcraft show or proper series of movies, but because the Legendary film didn't do as well as it could it's never going to happen, which is a legit shame. Someone needs to take the Warcraft IP from Blizzard so it can actually be used for something epic.
This is a very nice intro, but people aren't thinking through all the implications of what a WoW 2 would necessarily involve. The original character models were simplistic by today's standards and even by standards of the time, but they had a charming style. WoW models in 2024 are a pretty faithful update to those original models/styles and yet even they are divisive, at least among those vocal enough to comment about them. How would characters and creatures look in this ultra-modern style? Would it still feel like wow? And then you get to even more basic questions like what would wow 2 even be? Would it just continue on the story where the current expansion left off? Would it be basically just a remake of vanilla with modern graphics and maybe some updated systems? Would it retcon all of WoW's lore and basically reboot WoW to explore new or diverging stories from what they already did? All these options could be neat but they'd also be guaranteed to disappoint and enrage vast swaths of current and former players.
If you played all Warcraft Games, you would notice the design language. You can keep that same design language even with high fidelity graphics. The orcs in the Warcraft movie looked great.
Blizzard easily could've done this, and should have. Microsoft owns them and can force them and fund them to make WoW 2. Even Guild Wars 3 is getting developed to be a modern mmo. Shit is outdated, especially WOW.
When OG WoW came out - there was no RPG that competed with its graphics! It was the equivalent to playing in the standard of the video - but even better, today.
@@Jabarri74 you're tryna tell me that EQ2 graphics are better than Classic WoW? 😂 EQ2 is just 3D RuneScape graphics. Classic WoW is FAR SUPERIOR in every single way. Racial designs, weapon designs, textures, worldbuilding, terrain, fking everything is so many levels above. The graphics on Classic WoW are even still good for modern standards.
I have been playing classic HC 8 hours a day lately and tbh, the graphics don't bother me one bit. I'd still love to see a version of wow with this level of graphics, also, with full voice acted quests. The voice over addon really makes classic pop.
Blizzard have the capability to do this... and as someone who have been there from the start, I really think they should. Take learnings from the past two decades and just make something completely new IMO. Doesn't necessarily need to be the same quests and the exact same locations.

Which makes you wonder, do they despise passion itself? Or the fact that they still have it and blizzard doesn't?

Chills dude. Makes me to want play classic again
To be honest. At the end I wanted to see how the UI would look like 🧐
They need to uses Classic Plus as a platform to overhaul the game engine and restart the entire timeline.
@@SheikMMO The statistics say sub growth was constant and reliable until wotlk, not cata. Wotlk turned meteoric growth into stagnation inside of one damn expansion.
@@thattigercat player base started dropping with cata, therefor think new and make something else plus the xpack was a perfect Segway for something that could be been wow 2 branch as everything got destroyed. Thats what i meant
@@thattigercat Tbf, just because the sub growth stopped in wotlk doesn't mean wotlk was a bad expansion. At some point you can't grow anymore, because all the people who may even consider buying your product already have it.
Blizzard today: Shoving LGHDTV+ content through DEI hires > producing quality content and listening to the playerbase.
Glad someone mentions the DEI hires messing things up
Better graphics won't make you feel the same as you did back in 2004.
Those graphics would
Last generation kids don't want a game with graphics from 2004 lol.
Was half expecting a store popup to jumpscare me as soon as the character was going to be controllable.
I prefer video games to look like video games, embracing their unique style rather than aiming for realism
Nah, if they go with a realistic design then it will age like milk.
0:19 why does this look like the plains of eidolon from warframe lol
It's the lighting and color tone
Same engine
This terrain looks like the official Unreal Engine 5 Demos that were shown
the pan out from razor hill to the orc starting zone was pretty great. amazing work
I'm superior to trashmongold lol
If wow had graphics like this, I would even play it for the first time. 😂
When the camera stopped at the Orc, I knew that was how gameplay would look like. I wish there was more footage! A big well done to all involved in creating it
Impressive for its own thing... but absolutely NO THANKS! The best thing about the wow art style is that it not just another game chasing the "realistic" style. That's a huge part of why it has lasted as long as it has, since the art style is not instantly outdated. And that with a hand painted style they get to be more artistic with the colors/textures.
Yeah, I wish more people understood this. It's also far less fatiguing, has much more clarity and is much easier to run than a "realistic" style.
Ask anyone under the age of 25 what they think of WoW. You guys are so much cope thinking the artstyle held up it looks like wizard 101.
They miss on basic regular game mechanics. I just quit SoD as phase 3 was clearly not play tested and has tons of issues.
Fire blazing like there's hurricane coming but the tree's aren't moving at all. It is amazing.
Dude this isn't even possible. People can't play WoW with a million abilities being casted by everyone with those graphics. Dragonflight proved that it's only getting worse. People can't even raid with decent computers anymore because they get below 30 fps.
I used to work for the comments in youtube then I made a video about it and blizzard fired me for being passionate. I was touched.
I don't know what is so special about it. It looked exactly like this in my head since the begining.
As Asmon said, this is how I looked the game the first time I played almost 20 years ago (played a NE Druid but Teldrassil felt immense and epic!)
Run into 5 ppl fps drops to single digits on a 4090
They would obviously lose their 70 to 90 percent playerbase since most of us play on potato pcs
It baffles me that after so many years we haven't had ONE, just ONE game with graphics like this in the WOW universe. A singleplayer game or a coop game where you just follow and awesome storyline and bosses, that's it. Really.
They could just do a souls like game where you can be a cleaving orc or a ranger night elf or whatever and run around soloing bosses
Why does it baffle you? Honestly? Because blizzard has never made those types of games.
@@pointlessmanateenot everything needs to be a souls game.
Needs a lore wipe first
Jay wilson would fuck it up somehow
Its just a vid... GL getting that into actual gameplay.... I can still see some flickering/stuttering here and there. It looks amazing but still question urself... how many pc gonna run it, and how many ppl gonna complain due to visual bugs, and how many elitists gonna be like "oh my skill gets hurt- game is slow there is latency", ether way we know what kind of community we are we gonna be more ungrateful in the end rather than thankful
If something like this ever gets released, idk man, incredible
I would buy a new PC tomorrow and ruin my life for another decade if it came out and looked this good 😅
Asmons smile says all, the glimmer in his eyes spells nostalgia and hope!
Whoever made this put in more effort than Blizzard did in the last 3 expansions.
Rip old school. never will it feel the same.
Wow 2 will come out during the height of VR. It will be the pinnacle of MMO gaming. Just imagine.

you guys ever wonder...what if they came out with a deal that's like: double your subscription so like 30-40$ per month but you get all the mounts/cosmetics whatever. i wonder how many people'd do that.
The yallabla of gugugaka was at war with the roftubata from the lands of magabubu. Grade A lore right here.
When some one moved a chair in the past. Blizzard would still be the studio we knew and loved. And they introduced WoW 2 with upgraded graphic and up to date gameplay!
Imagine launching this as vanilla wow 2! ❤and re doing each expansion as this engine, wow 😍
This is how i remeber when i first play :D
WoW's unique art style is one of it's defining characteristics and what makes the game stand out from the rest. That doesn't need to be changed. It's not supposed to look realistic.
Exactly! I love how wow looks, I could see improving the existing textures but I love how cartoonish it looks
oh cmon the fire looks like something from their warcraft 2 cinematics ..
WoW looking like that is the ONLY thing that would make me come back to it.
I never wanted a WoW 2 but I did once want a realistic Diablo MMORPG in this style with same feeling and controls as WoW.
AXCEL doing great things too with Project Grunt.
this is the only way i would came back to wow, if they remastered the entire vanilla TBC and wotlk in this kinda of graphics would be sick
I ve always thought that classic would look like this, the same experience but totally HD
Me: Holy crap! WOW 2 looks awesome!
My grandkid: Ok grandapa time take your pills.
Bring a tear to my eye...out of sadness, cause we'll never see this happen
Man, this is just a reminder that we could have had a Warcraft show or proper series of movies, but because the Legendary film didn't do as well as it could it's never going to happen, which is a legit shame.
Someone needs to take the Warcraft IP from Blizzard so it can actually be used for something epic.
This video: how much MEGAscans of rocks and mountaints at 8k from Grand Canyon do you need. This guy: YES!
I got goosebumps watching this, it's been 10-15 years since last playing wow
"This is exactly how I remember it playing for the 1st time".
Exactly!
DUDE this looks sick!
imagine wow 2 looking like that and action based combat no tab targetting, just smashing through hordes of ennemies! Epic game!
Now this is art. Can you imagine what Ashenvale or Elywynn forest would be like? Transcendental.
Blizzard easily could've done this, and should have. Microsoft owns them and can force them and fund them to make WoW 2. Even Guild Wars 3 is getting developed to be a modern mmo. Shit is outdated, especially WOW.
Id buy that
When OG WoW came out - there was no RPG that competed with its graphics! It was the equivalent to playing in the standard of the video - but even better, today.
EQ2 came out before it and had better graphics, I think you might need to recheck history
The graphics on Classic WoW are even still good for modern standards.
and this is the 1 to 1 redesign. Imagine having the upscaled world with the bigger villages and huge cities
I would definitely jump back into world of Warcraft if it looked like this.
Oh my gosh. While I wouldnt want a reboot in lore, if something like this was to ever come out, it would be so dangerous for me lol.
this tickled my belly like i was a child again, not in the pastor kinda way, but fun kinda way
I have been playing classic HC 8 hours a day lately and tbh, the graphics don't bother me one bit.
At the rate games were progressing in graphics from 2000-2010 I thought we'd have this but in VR by now
I love when fans go all out with amazing attention to detail in trailers like this, only to fuck it up at the end with flames caught in a gust of wind, except they forgot about the smoke billowing straight up.
