    Great video !!! Its awesome to see someone using propane and oxygen to cut most welding vidoes ive seen obviously use acetyling an oxygen . I work for a major RR and thats all we use is propane and we thermite weld with it so theres that as well .

      Hey Charlie. Thanks for the comment. I really like using propane. I have converted a few people to it too. I just made a new video about cutting 1" plate with it. And look for my video called "Tailgate Talk #3" where I explain everything from tank to torch with using propane. Since you are experienced with it, let me know if I am leaving out anything, or something I can do better. Thanks for watching.

    I just ordered a Vulcan 195 today. My local HF had it for 1700.00 with a one year warranty out the door.
    I could have got it for 1400.00 but I purchased the 1 year warranty.

    ive actually never seen oxy and propane setup to cut, pretty cool

    • @AllStarWeldingSC
      @AllStarWeldingSC  6 місяців тому

      Oxy-Propane is great for cutting and heating. Look at my video about torches. I think it's one of the Tailgate Talks. #2 I think. Especially for a mobile welder. You can just put the propane tank on your back seat. If you run out, grab the tank off your grill. Haha

    Another good one man! One suggestion ive got for an engine drive would be instead of the hobart 145, esab has the ruffian 150 for around the same price. Its a better welder and better engine than the hobart. The briggs motors they use on the hobart have gotten pretty cheap and i personally have had problems with it at only the 30 hr. Mark. Just trying to save someone else from the head ache 👍

    • @AllStarWeldingSC
      @AllStarWeldingSC  6 місяців тому

      Yes! I had forgotten about the Esab. Also, Klutch made o e identical to the Vulcan. Miller makes a 160 and a 180 I think. The Hobart isn't a bad option. Look up Melting Metal Anthony. He made a video about one he got from Amazon for $1000. He shows himself repairing a huge excavator bucket with it. For someone that wants to get started on a budget, that's the ticket

      @@AllStarWeldingSC yes sir, Ive got the klutch and its a beast. We should start a petition here and now to get prime weld to make a engine drive 🤔

    • @AllStarWeldingSC
      @AllStarWeldingSC  6 місяців тому

      @scottfarrell1622 haha... they ha e already put their foot down on that and said absolutely not. Do you like the Klutch? Isn't it almost identical to the Outlaw? Did you see my video about the easy mod to the choke lever?

    • @AllStarWeldingSC
      @AllStarWeldingSC  6 місяців тому

      @@scottfarrell1622 is the Klutch still being made?

    • @scottfarrell1622
      @scottfarrell1622 6 місяців тому

      @@AllStarWeldingSC yes it is and when on sale its the same price as the outlaw. Its also the same design as the outlaw. My local harbor freight wouldn't order one for me so I went with the klutch. Infact the esab is the same design just less overall out put and an esab inverter. I saw your choke mod video but one difference is the klutch is pull start only so the choke lever is a Manuel style.

    Great work is that welder is a generator too or is just a welder, and that’s a great idea on the vises very handy

    • @AllStarWeldingSC

    This machin have idle control? Because I’m thinking buy one. Because Lincoln and miller is ti expensive

    • @AllStarWeldingSC
      @AllStarWeldingSC  20 днів тому

      Yes, this has idle control, sort of. When you first crank it up it will be full speed, and after a few seconds it goes to idle. If you plug in something like a grinder and pull the trigger, it will sense the draw and go to full speed. When you are done, it will go back down to idle. If you want to weld, you flip the switch to "Welding Power". That speeds the engine up, and turns on the welding circuits and turns on the 240v outlet. It will remain high speed the whole time you are welding. And you can also keep using the 120v outlets at the same time too. There has been many times when I am welding and my helper is running a grinder. You can't do that with the Hobart. You have to turn the amps on the welder all the way to max to use the 120v outlets, not a good thing if you are welding. As far as the open frame welder generators, the Vulcan Outlaw wins all around. Dual use, throttle control, 195amos, ELECTRIC START, the only one with electric start!!!! And right now, it's $250 off on sale.

    Hard face it vefore it gets a chance to wear thin. I got the hobart welder genset ftom Tractor supply, much smoother arc thab the inverter or AC box

    Could you ball park about how much one could make on a job like this?

    • @AllStarWeldingSC
      @AllStarWeldingSC  4 місяці тому

      That's hard to say. Since I was making a video with this job, it took 4x as long as it should have. This could have easily been done in 2 hours, or even less. So at the most, 2 hours times your rate. The customer provided the new blade, so it was all labor. Torch cutting the bad part off was maybe 30 mins. I think it was around $300.

    Could you mount the welder to one side of the truck?

    • @AllStarWeldingSC
      @AllStarWeldingSC  6 місяців тому

      Well... one side has the fuel cut-off valve, the other side has the exhaust blowing out. I guess it could be moved over more towards the driver side. But since it weighs close to 400lbs with fuel, I wanted to keep it centered. I don't really carry much in the bed. So it still has plenty of room. I can still slide my oxygen tank down one side and strap it down.
