Your the only guy showing all these videos on the Outlaw, this is great stuff! I really like seeing and learning the intricacies of this unit. Thank you!
Thank you so much. I really hope it's helpful. I absolutely love this machine. There is no other that can match this for the price... 195 amps, 13hp, electric start, for $1799? It's unheard of. If there is more you'd like to see, just let me know. I want to make the videos that you guys want to see.
I plan on buying a Outlaw portable welder and this video is very informative as to what will loosen up from the vibration. It will show what to keep a eye on a regular basis. If you had known what would loosen up it would have saved you alot of extra work.
You and me both, brother. The good news is that these are available again to order from your HF store. I don't know yet if they have any actually in the store, but you can order one. And, I was prepared to order a new one. I might still order a new one, with warranty, and keep the old one for back up, for another truck, or just for parts.
Thanks for the comment, and watching. The Rufian is a nice unit, and Esab puts out some great stuff no doubt. When I was choosing which machine to roll with, there were a few considerations that I had to think about... the Rufian wasn't out yet, but I was also looking at the 160a Miller and the 145a Hobart. I occasionally go up to 140amps, and I thought it would tax the Hobart too much to run it at full capacity. So the 195a Outlaw won that battle. But I routinely run 90a on a 3/32 7018. And, like you said, electric start was another bonus. Not a deal breaker, but I didn't want to be jumping up in the truck to pull start it every time. So, the Outlaw won again. The Outlaw is 6500w, which is good. I also like the throttle control dropping to idle when not used. I can't remember if the Hobart or the Miller has that feature. Does the Rufian have that? I don't remember. I do like the Kohler on the Rufian. It really doesn't matter what we use, as long as we get the job done, right? Miller has one now that you can plug into a 220v outlet to run instead of running off the engine. That's pretty sick. To me, the Outlaw met all my criteria better than other machines that were out at the time. So when I went to buy the Outlaw is when I found out it was discontinued. So I had to buy a used one I found on Marketplace. But, GOOD NEWS!! Its available again. They updated it with a CO2 monitor. You can order one at the store and it takes a few weeks to come in. Keep us updated on how you like your Rufian. Esab makes great stuff! And, not to mention that the Outlaw is only $1799.
Thanks for being a you tuber that likes to hear us The ruffian runs really hot pretty much first scratch and it's on great machine paid it's self many times I bought it on a esab deal 500 off for 2000 no regrets but I do like electric start only draw back other than that perfect for what I need thanks again
That's a tough call. One person recently told me that the new version of the Outlaw comes with the 3 year warranty. Might want to check on that. I guess it depends on your plans with it. Warranty is always peace of mind if you are going to use it in your business. But if it's going to sit around for months at a time, then maybe not.
@@rafterh2181 I figure that if you use it alot, if it has problems, it will show up in the first 90 days. But you still have 30 days to add the extended warranty if you decide to get it
Hard to tell. I bought it used and the guy said it might have only 10 hours. That was a year ago. I bet I've put maybe 50-60 hours on it since then. I wish these had an hour meter. I may put one on it. They are cheap and easy to install. You just gave me an idea for a new video!
@BRENT3143945 yeah, I know... I've tried it in different places, but this really works out better for my needs. The fuel cut-off valve is on the left side. When I had it moved over, it was harder to get to because of the tool boxes. The muffler is on the right side, so that was an issue. Being in the middle allows me access to the rest of the bed from either side. I've been wanting to mount a 48" Job Box at the back of the bed. It's an 8ft bed, so I still have room to carry stuff, but I rarely carry a bunch of stuff. I can also carry 2 oxygen tanks down one side, and I strap to the generator and the legs of the tool boxes. Like I said, I've tried it other places, and this really works out best for my needs.

Yes. Now I check everything weekly.
Looking forward to the hour meter install.
My hour meter stopped working. I have to order a new one.
Glad to see it pit together good video

That was a big job. Hope I don't have to do that again 😭
I wonder if you could thread a grease fitting and use a grease gun to pop off the rotor?
Ha. I doubt it. Once you break the bond, its easy. There is a guy on UA-cam that used water, but I wasn't going to try that.
I bought the esab ruffian 150 works good but I do like the fact the vulcan has electric start and 45 more amps

great help. Thank you
Thank you. I so sorry that a lot of good video was destroyed. But I hope it helped a little bit. Thanks for watching.
Do you think it's worth buying the 400.00 extended warranty on this or do you feel most things you could just fix yourself?

Take the opportunity to bolt the welder down to one side of the bed
Yes, it's bolted down with 4 u-bolts
