Steg SDSP8 amplifier with dsp
Steg BZ40A front
Steg BZ40D rear
Steg BZW80L/R
Sub Helix K10W in vented box. The sub in connected to Steg k2.1 amp. This amp is connected to CH7 and CH8 of the STEG SDSP8
Hi, BZ40A midrange 120hz hi-pass 5khz lo-pass -6db slope.
BZ40A tweeter 5khz hi-pass -6db slope.
BZ40D 120hz hi-pass -6db slope.
BZW80 120hz lo-pass -12db slope.
K10W 45hz lo-pass -24db slope.

I use active audison apbx 10 as subwoofer in the trunk
Which settings do you recommend?

If so, I’ll highly recommend you running them active for better performance, if you use passive then just give them 50hz hi-pass, thanks
Cool video! I have the same DSP with in front a ME650C composet.
In the rear i have MS650 coax speakers
For the sub an SQ-8 D2 with an DST850 dii mono amplifier, controlled by the DSP.
Wich settings do you recommend?
Im new into the world of the DSP's :D

Fred & Sound Hi Fred! I checked te Frequention of the woofer for the composet (ME650C). But is 8500hz not out of its range ? They manual says 50 till 5000hz.

@@frednsound Oh I see. Too bad because this is an important feature for me because not all music I played are Hi-Res especially on poorer quality mp3, radio, Spotify, youtube sources, etc. Some of the frequencies are too high or too low. Flattening it all automatically and then let the EQ tuning kicks in after that is a convenient and highly desirable feature of any dsp like what Helix, JL, AudioControl, etc. does.
When do you think the upcoming new STEG models are coming out?
@@russelgarces4113 in 2 months from now, all the new DSP lines should release, than after 5 months the master stroke DSP which against brax and Zapco, about your music, no matter how much you fix your eq, higher resolution is much recommended using, I’ll highly recommend you getting Your favorite mp3 music in higher resolution, thanks
@@frednsound Notes. Too bad not all music streaming are in Hi-Res, Tidal do have it but Spotify don't. I listen to FM radios too and it sucks tweaking the EQ for these to make proper adjustments. Thanks for the advice anyway. I look forward to your next uploads and upcoming STEG processors. Keep it up, a lot of us appreciate your work!

Can you explain me very simply the difference between the MAIN potentiometer and the different potentiometers (ch 1,2,3 etc)
You tell me if I'm wrong.
MAIN is for adjusting the distortion of the signal whereas the potentiometers by channel are there to determine at which volume we want to hear such or such speaker?
Hi mate, the main gain controls all the channels, the ch1-2-3…
are independent gains, for sample:
you setup 2-way active?
Set the gains on each driver (tweeter, midbass) to match the same total db output,
you can use quality RTA mic,
position to the driver head,
play pink noise,
set your app mode to SPL db level, say you get 88db for your mid-bass? Than you need to match your tweeters to be at the same level 88db if you chosen that number for sample, in this method you will be setting the gains ch1-2-3… to match your target db value, ones all set, than you set the main gain by getting the max output before distortion, thanks for watching

What about the GAIN knob on the k4.01? I have to move it after setting the SDSP?
I tried to adjust them this afternoon, but leaving the gain at minimum on the k4.01, the volume is not strong enough

Last question: with an original car radio with a lower quality signal, is it better to lower the DSP main level and increase the k4.01 knob a bit more or the other way around?
@@sylvainschmitt9447 no, you need to use a proper distortion tool and find the peak point, I’ll highly recommend getting the BT module and streaming directly to the DSP
