No one has anything anywhere relative to my question. I have tried now 3 times to use guilted wax to detail the interior parts of a Secretary desk. The wax keeps bubbling and pealing. I cleaned off old wax and wiped down with mineral spirits to remove any oil. It still is bubbling! I want a smooth finish on the edges of the cubbie holes. What will fix this?

Hi Judith! I’ve used gilding wax on all types of surfaces. The one I use is from Dixie belle paint. It’s oil based. I’ve not had any bubbling. What’s under the wax area? Could it be something under?
