Thank you. I bought some gilding waxes. I love them but they dried out right away. They weren’t cheap, so I needed your advice on rejuvenating them. I will definitely try this

I've read that mineral spirits will restore them. Also, boiled linseed oil (must be boiled...you don't have to boil it yourself, it's available both boiled or not boiled...difference is if not boiled it'll never dry). I've never tried either, just passing along information I came across. You would be wise to check the information out on line before you invest to try either option. Good luck...!

Thank you for this. Which metallic, iridescent or colour shift wax would you suggest for wood?

Good afternoon! Do you think if you cover Cosmic Shimmer with varnish afterwards, it will prolong its service life? Thank you for the interesting video!

It could do but it could also dull the shine.

You don't mention which brand of waxes you use, but I don't bother with baby oil and warm water, I just use turps. If you sniff the pot and it smells of turps - that's the way to go. I use Cosmic Shimmer, Treasure Gold, Pebeo and Finnabair Art Alchemy... which I am thinking of adding turps to in the hopes of obliterating the horrific sickly perfume smell they have, which makes me nauseous.
I too have some of the water based polishes, but prefer the waxes every time. Nice video, pity we couldn't see the brands.

The brand of wax I use is no longer available. It was distributed by a company Called Woodcraft. The smell faintly of oranges so there's possibly orange oil in there.

@@CurioByBSpokeDesigns Oranges? That's interesting. I don't have any of those waxes. Know Woodcraft quite well though, I sometimes get their stamps or ephemera. Had no idea they'd sold waxes too. Fascinating.

@@FranOnTheEdge I believe the original company ceased trading about 18 months ago - many of their product were taken over by another company but not the waxes - as far as I am aware. I really loved using those waxes so would love to get more.

Don't use the baby oil...use mineral spirits instead
