He states in the description that it's likely a scrapped feature. I'm really hoping we get the character narration when we play as an origin character, but I'm pretty doubtful considering it's a LOT of work.
Early access. All 6 origins and all 8 tavs were originally going to narrate their own stories but it was removed because randos on reddit didn't like it.
This video isn't a mod he used the cut voice lines that used to be in the early access version of the game. And overlaid them onto the game after muting the narrator in Adobe Premiere. The original narration was never in a playable build of the game as it was already cut out before the early access build launched. The files were just sitting in it in a removed state.
@Chubblot : Are more files of the "character's own narrations" appearing, patch by patch? (To suggest, that it's still something they're working on / developing?) It feels so unnatural to hear it, and I can't put my finger on why it's so bad. It's bad enough to make me just skip playing origin characters. It might sound better, if the characters spoke in past-tense? As if the play through was a retelling of their story? Maybe it's sounds so strange because the characters are trying to do a weird mash-up of present & past-tense? From what I've heard so far, I really wish they'd bin it, and replace with the (amazingly done) normal narrator.
The first person narration hasn't been added to (in the public builds at least) since the start of early access, and patch 6 actually removed a lot of it from the files. I believe this is a cut feature.
Did Larian pick a voice actor with a nasal voice to match the SH scar? That's a serious scar and would have a airflow consequence. The amount of thought and detail in this game are impressive.
@@Chubblot I think this would work well combined with the OG narrator, but when it's like this it can be a bit weird at times, especially when she speaks in past tense
Shadowheart I love you
Why do I see this just now? This is all I've ever needed!
Thanks Chubblot! Sad to see that this is most likely cut content.
Dont think so. You will be able to play as shadowheart the same way we did as the other origin characters in Divinity 2! :)

Man the lipstick and eyes were really good in beta.
Randos on reddit were so totally wrong. I am so pissed.
lol what

I disagree! I am happy with the current narrator and still find the past-tense phrasing awkward.
The past tense is not doing it for me...
She is so beautiful
Yes, but, she would cast level 2 inflict wounds on you (rolling 20) without second thought

Is the self narration a mod or is it default when playing as an origin character?

It was one of the original ideas, but then they changed this.
Are all the lines exactly the same as the other character narrators?
How did you do this?

you are comparing it to the soothing voice with effects of the current narrator, this does not have that, its just a leftover probably

Just no one is curious about what mod she had in the video?
Interesting question.
