Can you open your garden for visitors so we can see how you put in your other farms? (the non vertical?) my co op partner and i are struggling to figure out 3 layers for your old farm. I figured you had already made them?
For the Launch pad farms, maybe try putting another lane adjacent to the main ones and farm at a slight angle. This should increase the efficiency because you are still farming while being launched by the launch pad
It literally takes the same amount of time to drop 3 blocks as it would to walk over to the next crop field. You can take your vertical farms and lay them out horizontal with little modification and have the same efficiency. Just make sure you are not turning or stopping along the way...ROFL. The limit let's you get 3 layers of plot wide fields. They are going to keep making changes until players stop trying to game the system that isn't actually giving a benefit.
I don’t really believe the height limit had massive load on the servers as people that built before garden had a lot more massive farms plus minions and stuff. But what do I know
So my understanding is that they now had to store an extra about an island-worth of blocks (garden shorter but bigger) for every player that unlocked and built on the garden. That can add up quick, I guess, but I don't get how they didn't foresee that haha
@@Thorpian i doubt anyone built large vertical farms on alpha, and even still you would need a substantial amount of people doing this to get the effects of lag. Either way what happens is that each chunk/plot is getting more block updates for each growing crops. No idea why this wasnt an issue before gardens (unless gardens is always loaded/calculated)
@@scrollhub2280 they said it's not the block updates (which depends on how many gardens loaded), it's the pure block storage issues. Unless they were dumbing it down for us
@@Thorpian Understandable. Simple or complicated, schematics is always great just to ensure everything is as its supposed to be, and if it isnt, then its a million times easier to find the issue. :)
Thanks for the video! Just out of curiosity, what version of Minecraft do you play on? I know 1.8.9 is what Skyblock was made for, but the crop hitboxes are not good on that version, but I noticed when I went to a higher version I seemed to get rubber banded a lot more. Do you use mods to increase the crop hitbox for 1.8.9, or do you have a better way to farm on 1.8.9 without the need for mods? (I'm a vanilla player myself)
@@happyblue7490 its patcher, but he said hes vanilla, you can try 1.12.1 since that has better hitboxes but is not THAT much different from 1.8.9 so you shouldnt get many lagbacks
Hadnt done the math at the time of the video. At the moment, it's hard to say because they plan to increase growth speeds supposedly..but 3x1 plots of one floor should be good for carrot/potato/nw. Also, 5x1 plots should be good for melon/pump. Rest idk
for cane couldnt u just do a normal farm and to the s and d method? cane was alr semi afk with a normal farm before garden update all the launch pads just seem to me like extra steps to build for cane specificly
Ppl really love the two button system, having to go forward/backward every row was apparently too much for some haha, so I figured I'd give ppl a way to do it if they rly wanted to
@@Alex-uq2wb yeah! this is actually rly useful because the vert farm design takes extra space with water, so the 2-wide design with faster movement is better imo. My new pump farm will use that for sure
@@Thorpian no im saying the 2 butten system xD where you angle yourself at 45degrees and holding d one row then u go to next row then s its 3 buttons including left click its what thirty virus did for cane ( i know some1 else did it before him but idk name)
Hmmm, that's a server vs connection issue. Only thing you can do is make sure that the pad is set right and the ceiling block is there to help guide your path
Unless ur maxed out on farming fortune, that's the better way to check. About 700 is pretty good and should get you gold or near it, max is like 1k but you need to go pretty crazy on str and recombs and stuff for that minmax. Unless you're asking about checking your farm design, then it's about 20 crop blocks per second give or take a little.
The cane farm with launch pads is unnecessary, using the normal design was already semi afk with you only having to alternate your movement key from s to d if you had the snake pattern already built in on the ends to guide you.
Do you have any tips for the sunlight or something, im not using your design but my crops wont grow. I have water and a 3 block height from the crops. but they wont grow. Do you know why?
clever use of the launch pad , thanks for the idea !

Great designs, I will view this when the patch goes live
Is live!
@@Thorpian oh no
the patch was live when he uploaded the vid
I was waiting for someone to make a new strat, nice
Thank you very much!
But i'll wait a week before building it... in the end the launch pads require to much space and are therefore disabled xd

Time is the same, but extra buttons ;)
Not really affable but you can technically fit 5 layers of wheat using trapdoors but it is a pain. Good video though :)
The wheat will not grow with a block directly above it sadly.
@@Lobot16 it does tho xd
@@Lobot16 it does if the block above it isnt a whole block which is the case cause of it being farmland wich is a 7/8 Block
no just slower :) people have done it
You can paste trap doors and snow layer in any configuration
Tested it this morning, this is true (at least for trap doors)

Very nice guide! Any chance u could make a schematic of the farm?

Hey! I know we talked on Discord, but in case anyone else was wondering it looks like it was NEU
Did you comment on how much of each farm you need for it to be infinite? Are these finite products?

Just don’t forget to fit lighting in there
Yeah it fits, I was just lazy on placing it haha
I just visited ur garden to check out ur designs however I don’t understand why launchpads are needed
So you don't have to push w to move to the next row, it's a lazy person thing
what is the angle for carrot?
90/180/0 depending on which way you're facing.
thank you ma'am
none of those worked for me
@@badcrafter2202 are you going 115 speed?
yeah
Isn’t it better to put like 5 wheat in one row rather than 4 ? You have to move a bit slower but u break one more cropper row
Check out my break speed video, it doesn't rly matter as long as you're always breaking a crop, and 4 is easier than 5 cuz of water placement

I was already thinking of using launch pads but wasnt sure if there was a limit on them, is there a max amount you can place per island?
I honestly don't know, I haven't hit it yet if there is
Question: how do you get your angles so nicely?
How is that even question? 💀😂
Use F3 or a mod showing your angle and then have very steady hands haha

Btw why 4 rows of carrots and not 5? Saw most people placing carrots 5 wide
It doesn't matter the # of rows as long as you adjust speed accordingly. But 4 better than 5 imo because water spreads 4 blocks away

whats the benefit to farming on the new island instead of a private one?
More fortune in garden
More farming fortune and the crops grow faster, also you can paste farms making the building faster
More fortune
It’s stupidest easy to create a farm
Visitors come faster which means faster farming exp
Do you only needs one plot of all of these or are there some that need two?
You'd need 1x5 plots for most of these to be infinite
Is there a Pumpkin design?
Pumpkin is same as the vertical one but with the launchpad like in the wheat/carrot/potato I showcase here
bro you can make it fully afk btw but its verry costy
Launchpads like every block?
Vertical on privat island stil working ?
Yep, garden just got a max height of 10 now so vertical doesn't work
dont hate the admins btw.... they are just doing there job
well they are not doing their job very well imo
I don't hate em... That being said, the update broke all farms above y10 ;)
any nether whart design ?
For nwart, use the same thing as the wheat/carrot potato, but use whole blocks instead of slabs so you're a little higher when breaking the wart
Or you can just hold w and it's exactly the same
Not quite the same :/
pls post tutorial or schematic
