I bought mine a couple of weeks ago and I am absolutely in love with it. The watch is an upgrade over its old 40mm variant in every way. It wears much better, isn't as bulky and the bracelet and bezel refinement give the watch a little more presence and luxury feeling while still being a proper tool watch. For me, this is the ultimate vintage inspired diver that you can actually take on an adventure and I much prefer it to my old BB58 for that reason. The only criticism I have is that the rubber strap the watch comes with is too large and untucks easily. But that is easily solved with an aftermarket option. Keep up the great work Oris and Teddy!
I got mine last week! Love it. I’ve come to realize that Oris makes watches that fit my lifestyle and I’m not afraid to daily wear. I got the blue version and I can already tell it’s going to be my most worn watch for the foreseeable future. I also agree with the rubber strap. The taper at the end is way too aggressive as well. I hesitated on the size of that, but am pleasantly astounded on how well it wears on my wrist. I do agree with some of the comments on here about the specs maybe lagging versus some cheaper alternatives. But I still like ORIS.
Personally, I think it's a shame that Oris is still using Selita SW-200 movement and ask for the watch +2000£. Seriously, you can buy almost 3 Christopher Wards divers with same Selita SW200 for this price, or you can buy 1 Titanium Christopher Ward diver Lumiere with Selita SW-300 that's gonna be superior to the Oris watches with Selita SW-200 in any part of comparison. I think Oris need to calm down a litle bit with their prices increases, because they are going already in the Tudor,Breitling, price range category but their quality and features stay's in the Hamilton and Certina category.
@@itsalexc91 I have nothing against Oris, I also own a Oris 65 with Selita SW-200 and I can buy it new with 45% discount from a Jewellery shop for 1050£ with leather strap, but I also have a Cristopher Ward diver with Selita SW-200, and I buy it for 680£ with metalic bracelet and there is no difference in quality between them, both are good, but Oris prices are crazy. Personally, I think I like the Diver’s 65 design DNA a bit more, but the 200 meters of water resistance is a big plus for me. Great video as always Teddy!
Nice review. I think I would just save up and get a Tudor. As another option, I got a Baltic. No date function, but a good watch for the price point. I really like Oris, I have two, including the Father Time Big Crown Pointer Date. I’m just not sure this release does much at this price point where the competition is pretty stout.
Tudor feels better in hand for sure. But they are still too big for 6.5-6.75 inch wrists. Also too many people wear those. It’s like going out somewhere and seeing someone with your outfit on. Oris is for watch enthusiasts. Rolex/tudor has become mostly for pretentious douchbags.
What’s missing in the lineup now is a classic looking GMT. The existing GMT part of the Aquis look is way too large. I could see a GMT rootbeer from this diver look, similar to a Tudor BlackBay GMT. Any thoughts?
Love Oris, have the light blue heritage divers 65, I honestly would have liked them to produce something a lot closer to the original heritage model, like the flutes on the bezel etc. bit lazy imho.
I own an Aquis and I love it.. At $2700 for this I’d really be expecting an upgraded movement in the cal 400.. love its minimalistic design and size case but I don’t want one.. I’ll continue the quest for the larger bulkier Tudor monochrome 41 spec monster! Great video as always Teddy
The Tudor 41 Monochrome is the diver watch to buy in this price category. Oris Caliber 400 are lower priced alternatives but the SW 200 based Oris divers are overpriced. Better get a Squale 1521. Half the price, better specs, better case and heritage, same movement.
Great update, new 200m WR, just a little pricey for Sellita? For basically same amount I have bought Oris Aquis cal.400 7 months ago when AD had 25% Off Worldwide. Anyway, cool watch for sure.
I’m waiting for the day they make a 38mm BICO. like u said, due to the dial to bezel ratio, their dials tend to look bigger (at least with their 65 line), so it would visually come off more like 39. To me, it should be their flagship as far as their vintage looking stuff goes because as far as i know, there’s nothing else out there QUITE like it. It’s just that its pie pan proportions don’t look its best at 40mm. Especially not on small to medium wrists. As much as I love it, for me it could be better size-wise. Maybe if they ever release a BICO like that, it’ll have the improved specs like this one does. I personally don’t mind an off the shelf movement as long as it performs well.
At first I found the update rather boring, but now I think these understated yet elegant designs will be perfect for people looking to buy their first serious watch. All of the small niggles that plagued the Divers 65 have been fixed, so now you can finally buy it for its functionality, not just its looks.

Yes at first glance I thought Diver 65. I'm not certain why they just didn't upgrade the D 65 ? Then again there are folks like me who don't dive, love the slender watch with the "skin diver" appeal. Solid watch, solid price.

But there is also tons of micro brands that harvest the same market. I really dont see why you want want to shell out a couple of grand to get an unrecognisable design from a 4th or 5th tier brand. I like a bunch or Oris designs and the local AD to me is very nice folks but as you can buy just about any Oris for minimum 30% off on grey market their retail prices are problematic for me.
So... I'm born n raised on Oahu, Hawaii. Grew up at the beach fishing, diving, surfing, everything you can do in the ocean and the ocean here in Hawaii is like no where else in the world. Fifty Fathoms? Oceanmaster? Marinemaster? Aquamaster? all these 'dive' watches no one would even wear those in the water. Here any item you take with you into the water has a chance of not coming back out of the water with you, a watch could get sucked off your wrist in a sec if you get caught in the surf. It happens to all of us. That entry gshock from a drug store for 40bucks *f91/xxx5600?* is most popular here if you need to keep time while in the water, just saying. Deskdivers is that a term for these watches?
I find it a shame that so few makers have an offering of a light dial with a light bezel. Always going with the black bezel seems rather unimaginative to me.
I love Oris. Have a Pointer Date. But for the life of me i don't understand the pricing for this watch which is just a rehash with a typical SW movement.
Given the economy and market conditions, wonder which companies will merge, divest or even shut their doors. Love Oris and others but I just don’t know their long term prospects. Hopefully I’m wrong but just like the demolition man movie - all restaurants Taco Bell and all watches brand a or b. Not oris.
Awesome watch from a spec perspective... But I think my D65 bico has a charm and warmth this doesn't have. Still though a really great modern take on a classic
What’s the point in releasing a 39 mm watch if the diver 65 already comes in 40 mm ? It’s not like 1 mm makes a big difference . They look very similar in my opinion and the movement is the same . Overpriced for what you get in my opinion , this should be under 2 grand , like $1850 -1950 or around there .Other than that I like the design / look and the fact that they include a free tropic rubber strap . The weight is also good on the bracelet so it’s not too heavy on wrist.
Saw one couple days ago, case size is fantastic. Bezel insert is cheap-looking. Dial size and proportions of markers are off, it comes across as feminine. Oris has been dropping the ball for awhile... and I say that as one of their biggest fans.
It seems there's no winning with watch sizes. SOO MANY wanted 39mm. Now 39mm comes out and they want a 36mm or 37. The hobby is just extremely annoying at this point
Thanks for your consistently high level of professional informative horological updates. I just picked up my first Oris: a 38mm steel in Cotton Candy Blue. Fits my wrist perfectly although I have mostly 40-43mm watches in my collection.
I love and own Oris watches but no one the fly adjustment and price increases is disappointing. This was their time to make a statement and bring Tudor & Tag down while shaking Longines. Sadly far better value is found in the CW C60 trident and for those on a serious budget. The good old San Martin will get it done. Option with a pre owned IWC Aquatimer belts them all.
Oris my favourite brand. Great upgrades to the 65!!!! But the dials are very boring and too safe for Oris, who are very capable of making beautiful dials that pop. These deserve sunburst dials like the Aquis. MSRP $2,700 usd, too expensive for sellita movements ….grey market all the way in these. Black dial looks the best imo.
Oris is not an "affordable" brand. For example, the Oris Aquis Great Barrier reef is AUS$6700.00 here in Australia. Another three grand buys an Omega Seamaster.
I have worn Ors divers for profession underwater work for 2 decades. Great brand. But this model, to me, the rivets on the bracelet are horrible and perhaps they should have gone 20mm lug width. I am sure it will sell like crazy but I'll take ehe unique design of the Aquis. any day, the 41 Aquis wears like a 39 on he wrist. I love that Oris is fiercely independent.
Why couldn't they ever lose the faux-tina on the 40-41 sizes?!
“Some will say this is just a divers 65”
Yes. It’s a divers 65. With some small tweaks. 19mm lug width? Not even an upgrade
I love Oris. Have a Pointer Date. But for the life of me i don't understand the pricing for this watch which is just a rehash with a typical SW movement.
Bro didn’t see the Vulcain Skindiver. They even gave the similar rubber straps like the skindiver.
Beautiful.
Oris is 5 years late and 600usd too expensive.
Citizen new 60 hour reserve think its 9035...just accurate.
Price for $200? I'll buy immediately
Given the economy and market conditions, wonder which companies will merge, divest or even shut their doors. Love Oris and others but I just don’t know their long term prospects. Hopefully I’m wrong but just like the demolition man movie - all restaurants Taco Bell and all watches brand a or b. Not oris.
2 dollars??? I’ll buy THREE of them, I’m crazaaay!
Lets keep it real, even to the trained eye it’s basically a 65.
Awesome watch from a spec perspective... But I think my D65 bico has a charm and warmth this doesn't have. Still though a really great modern take on a classic
The divers date, Looks like a Casio for $2500 Canadian....I'm guessing the price.
Never seen this good watch for a 2 usd, would happily pay even 200.
Is it me or does it seem like the 9 o'clock index looks smaller than the 3 o'clock index?
2700 $ is an insanely high price for what you get.
Please note Teddy 2min and 9seconds in to video the price is incorrect you have $2.00 price should be I assume at least $2,000 just so your aware.
2 bucks?? I’ll take one of each!!
Bezel needs to be 2mm wider than watch body.
Blah...! Kind of boring. Nice size though...🤔
Video is informative, as always.👍
Only 2$? 🙂Looks like a bargain. Great video as usual Teddy.
At least this one doesn’t have the famous Oris screw on crown guards.
$2.00 is mad fair.
Great brand but 2k hurts
One can get a used Tudor BB 58 for $2500. Way better in any imaginable way. Or a Longines Legend Diver for the same money as the Oris. So much better…
No mention of how this is trying to be a Tudor BB58 down to the faux rivets!?
I like Oris but the dials are bland af!!
Nice Video, but this is not a entirely new dive watch collection. But for just 2 bucks, i will take it.
The hands are ogly. Other than that cool watch.
Oris is not an "affordable" brand. For example, the Oris Aquis Great Barrier reef is AUS$6700.00 here in Australia. Another three grand buys an Omega Seamaster.
How is this entirely new?
Nah, just another Dover 65. Just a v2.0
A thickness of only 12 mm with a date complication and 200 m. of w. r. is remarkable.
Wow! Beautiful Oris! I like the black bezel & face version.
They're a brand like no other
For a sellita s200
Teddy always looking sharp. I would love to see a one off video of teddy’s brand picks for clothing!
Can't beat the $2 price. Yes, the new design is a bit uninspiring, but at this price point, it should sell like hotcakes. Stocking stuffers.
Not bad for $2 but I would spend the extra $10 to get a Casio F91w instead.
$2 bucks ? yeah baby !
Can the rubber strap be purchased separately?
