First, solid cover - you did a great job. Second, I'm convinced Zach Hill puts little thought into actual composition and just blasts through songs mostly off feeling, then writing it down afterwards. That's gotta make things difficult to accurately replicate. Even during live shows when he's playing NONSTOP for almost an hour you gotta think he's winging like 20% of it.

I think so too. I’ve been listening to Zach’s playing for a while. From what I can tell is that he comes up with cool phrases and incorporates them into different parts of the song. He then improvises a lot around these phrases to the structure of the song. Much like a jazz drummer would. You can hear him do this in Hella.
