Michigan is the most physical team I have seen in a long team. As an OSU fan I never thought they would beat us again. Not only have they beat us they have physically dominated us in a way we never thought possible. Made us start changing the way we do things. Have to respect that.

McFarland is spot on when he says the turning point was when Harbaugh finally fired Don Brown (about 3 years too late). Don Brown's overly aggressive defenses piled up stats against weaker teams, but when facing teams with equal talent (Ohio State, Bowl game teams), his defensive schemes were exposed. What I’ve said for a long time is that harbaugh is not liked by many people, so when something negative happens, like a rare Michigan loss, people line up to crucify him. Finebaum was on the anti Harbaugh wagon.....How could you ignore Washingtons total defense was ranked about 94th in the NCAA. Absolutely horrendous to win a NC. Their offense carried the season. Last night gave up over 305 rushing yards a new CFP record. The first quarter Michigan seemed to exhausted themselves with those big plays. Caught their breath in the 4th quarter.
How can you give Harbaugh credit for Washington being ranked 94th? That's why Michigan won not because of the mistake prone Harbaugh who killed momentum before the first half with a silly decision to go for it at midfield. In the end, UGA was not even the best team in their conference and Michigan beat the team that had just beat UGA. Don Brown was not at Michigan "for a long time." 3 years and when he was new everyone loved him. His problem was that he had a complete inability to adjust.

I don’t think any team has ever won a title without a little luck and as a UM fan I was relieved to know that Georgia was out of the final 4. They were #1 all year but Alabama knocked them out. But the way that Michigan dominated last night, I really believe they would’ve beat Georgia if they played head to head or at least a close game. You cannot deny how dominant Michigan played. They deserve credit no doubt.
As a Michigan alum it didn't matter. We would have flat out taken GA down as well. GA was not invincible this year. Michigan was not afraid of anyone, and everyone read that video of Michigan's respons to Bama being named the team that they would play. It was utter shock that FSU was being left out. This year Michigan is the best team in the country at 15-0 and that includes a one loss GA that would have 2'Ls if they had to play Michigan for the chip.

Michigan has always been a program based on physicality in the run game and defense... Winning the time of possession and flipping the field betting on the other team to eventually make the back breaking mistake... Michigan football is not high flying or enticing to the eyes compared to the teams that air it out week in, week out... Football... No matter what offense or defensive scheme you run has always come down to blocking, shedding blocks, tackling, tackling in space... Football is still won in the trenches... And the 2023 Michigan Wolverines reminded all of us.. what is old becomes new again... GO BLUE!!!

McFarland is spot on when he says the turning point was when Harbaugh finally fired Don Brown (about 3 years too late). Don Brown's overly aggressive defenses piled up stats against weaker teams, but when facing teams with equal talent (Ohio State, Bowl game teams), his defensive schemes were exposed. Kudos to McFarland for stating the truth.
What I’ve said for a long time is that harbaugh is not liked by many people, so when something negative happens, like a rare Michigan loss, people line up to crucify him. They also knew that if he stayed he’d win the championship eventually so they had to get in their shots while they could.
Too bad he didn’t win that superbowl he reached in the nfl. Then he’d be less likely to go back.

The first quarter Michigan seemed to exhausted themselves with those big plays. Caught their breath in the 4th quarter.
How can you give Harbaugh credit for Washington being ranked 94th? That's why Michigan won not because of the mistake prone Harbaugh who killed momentum before the first half with a silly decision to go for it at midfield. He even admitted it to losing momentum, to his credit, when he spoke to the interviewer at half time.
UM may or may not have Intel. Everyone gets some. Michigan is just physically dominant. Showed it all year. You still have to perform and make real plays. Those young men earned that title.. period. Go Blue🏆

Michigan was a better team than UGA all year according to advanced stats and the eye test, but UGA got #1 and the benefit of the doubt because of the two prior years. In the end, UGA was not even the best team in their conference and Michigan beat the team that had just beat UGA. Don Brown was not at Michigan "for a long time." 3 years and when he was new everyone loved him. His problem was that he had a complete inability to adjust.
Yess was just thinking this and u made a great statement about "adjusting" he was awesome at first when he had the personal to run his type of blitz defense but when the experience and talent level dropped on the defense he didn't adjust with it
I don’t think any team has ever won a title without a little luck and as a UM fan I was relieved to know that Georgia was out of the final 4. They were #1 all year but Alabama knocked them out.
But the way that Michigan dominated last night, I really believe they would’ve beat Georgia if they played head to head or at least a close game. You cannot deny how dominant Michigan played. They deserve credit no doubt.
As a Michigan alum it didn't matter. We would have flat out taken GA down as well. GA was not invincible this year. Michigan was not afraid of anyone, and everyone read that video of Michigan's respons to Bama being named the team that they would play. It was utter shock that FSU was being left out. This year Michigan is the best team in the country at 15-0 and that includes a one loss GA that would have 2'Ls if they had to play Michigan for the chip.
Couldn't figure out why so many thought "advantage Washington." I knew they'd make Penix miserable, and grind them into paste.
And this Michigan team would beat either of the Georgia national champions.

This is why I could careless what Finebaum has to say. Michigan is an extremely physical football team that will just straight up kick the snot out of you. Running the football is still important in football, and will help you win championships, that and a very solid defense. Remind you of anything, Belichick and Patriots over last two decades.
