I like the additional airbag between the driver and the passenger. Looks like it has a lot of sense! 1:32 - if that airbag wasn't present there their heads would collide quite hard. Looks like something new in car safety that makes sense.
That's true. But the design of the center airbag differs between manufacturers. I prefer the design Volkswagen uses in the ID. Buzz for example (take a look at that crash test on the EURO NCAP channel). It has more volume and to me seems to be a bit more effective than this design here.
wtf?! why did you change the crash test from 64km/h, the mean speed of accidents, to 50 ?! How do you even make sure the weight of the "other car" is the same as the tested car like in the past?
sorry to burst your bubble but they don't just take suggestions from people. mercedes have to send them cars to do the tests, usually 5 cars. So mercedes would be throwing away just over a million dollars on a crash test. If you search up 2022 Mercedes S-Class safety, you'll find some videos of the assistance systems, but not the car itself crashing
@@ziemniaczexpr0 oh well, you're right. but my point still stands considering the car is approx. 210 thousand euro, times 5 = €1,050,000. That's a lot of money for a pretty rare car. And I understand that the S63 is one of the most expensive, and you can buy a new S350d for 109k (in Germany), but that's still an eye watering 545k when you consider that they'll need about 3-5 cars
@@aidan1585 makes totally no sense to test on an AMG version so you are right. Better to get the cheaper engine and the results will be the same anyway
@@ziemniaczexpr0 yep, very very rarely would they test on a more expensive model. they also very rarely test big luxury cars like an S-Class or a BMW 7 series due to their price and small market.
in older GLC 2016-2019 hitting poll pillar A didn't collapse - Mercedes damaged the perfect car to save a few pounds of steel on new GLC 2020 and later at the price of our safety 😢 shame....
Didn‘t show the side pole test from bird view perspective, huh. Seems like it did too bad. Don‘t want people to be able to compare it to the Tesla crash test. SHame on you.
yeah came here trough a link on the euroncap website , it did bad on the side pole color brown means WEAK. Shit was looking at this car as an option as next car for me. The last generation glc did better on this particular test.

as i know 5 stars were impossible in 2022 withouth this airbag
safe car!
respect
safe but the safety of other lighter cars is the price for that with this fat heavy car.

To make electric cars look better :) everyone has invested in BEV for the masses and the lobbying behind it is quite insane.
@@SF-rs3xmtf does this even mean?
Just ❤️ at first sight.
Why have you reduced the test collision speeds?
This care has an incredible weight. 2000kg. The last version of GLC, had what? 1.6 Tones or something? Massive weight gain
Not really it was around 1.8/1.9 tons depending on the version
But you must consider additional weight of the passengers and fuel also.

funny all NCAP tests are like 10% of all accidents that happen
bruh what they literally tested like every type of crash. They even did pedestrian which I don’t think anyone else even does
