Park City | Ninety Nine 90 Express

Ninety Nine 90 Express was the first lift added as part of the American Skiing Company's expansion plans for The Canyons. In 1998, it came in to serve an area of expert terrain, with glades, chutes, open bowls, and some mellower parts down below. Unfortunately, it was the only lift that went to plan, besides Iron Mountain Express, as the others went in as fixed grips, some on shorter alignments, and one even went as a triple instead of a quad. Ninety Nine 90 reached the highest lifted point The Canyons, topping out right at the tree line, for better wind resistance.
Ninety Nine 90 Express is a Garaventa CTEC high speed quad. I has Stealth II terminals, Garaventa AK-4 detachable grips, and CTEC bail chairs. The lift's length is definitely listed a little too high, as a 6680 foot length divided by a ride time of 5.3167 minutes, comes out with a speed of 1,250 fpm. With a listed design speed of 1070 fpm, length is closer 5,690 feet. The lift goes up the mountain where the summit of 9990 sits, but doesn't quite reach the summit. Instead, the lift reaches about 9,830 feet, where one can hike the other around 150 feet to reach the true summit of 9990.

I've heard the terrain on this lift is crazy! Honestly not too bad compared to some stuff at Stevens Pass. But I agree, I love the terrain here, and views are awesome, when it's not cloudy.
