Zanny is a breath of fresh air when it comes to people playing Arkham Asylum. A lot of people I see don't like playing at least this one because they can't be reckless especially on the stealth missions or they say that it's an old game. But seeing Zanny loving the combat, then I know for sure he'll love the rest of the series cause it gets better and better.
The combat is incredible clunky in this game. I’ve gotten too good at the combat to the point that I have to slow down for the game to catch up. I don’t have that problem with the other games.
That’s kind of the biggest problem with the Arkham games: they don’t force you to engage with their systems. I bet in City Zanny is just going to use the smoke bomb for all the stealth encounters, because the game doesn’t teach you what the other gadgets do
It’s the easiest by far you were just a kid when you played asylum or I’m assuming completely wrong but that was my experience going back as an adult it’s so easy it’s boring
it might be that the future games have so many new skills, gadgets, and combo moves it makes the combat very wide and deep so it is easier as you have so many other options for winning. Asylum only really has like 5 moves to fight well with compared to the later games.@@Kankerpatient123

The best tips I have for this is: - Don't do the same move twice, it resets your combo. - The longer your opponents live, the more score you can farm out of them, so only use finishers/throw opponents into their deaths when you know they are very weak - Keep a mental note on all the different moves you used for the variety bonus (if memory serves me right, the multiplier can go up to X9 and gives you a ton of points) - Don't worry about getting hit during rounds where titans are present, hoping on top of them let's you farm obscene amounts of points
Max variety for Asylum is 9 1. Basic Attack 2. Counter 3. Stun 4. Throw 5. Combo Takedown 6. Ground takedown 7. Combo Batarang 8. Combo Batclaw 9. And then the leaping over enemies move (somehow counts even though it doesn't add to the combo counter)
Lifehack to buy yourself time in case everyone is done is to dodge If you dodge on nothing you can do it once, like the batarang, but you can jump over someone as much as you want You also gotta keep going - if you don't land a hit, stand still, dodge or batarang twice in a row the combo breaks. If you can't see anyone to hit dodge to keep the combo going, and this is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT. Every move you do gets multiplied by your combo number. So on on combo 30, your 100pts ground takedown is worth **3000 points**. Also, also basically do special combos (throw, break his fucking arm) as much as possible - you can basically do those every 3 hits, if you trust yourself to land critical hits at least twice Also, also, also - getting comfortable with the combat, AND stealth to 100% this game takes at least a few playthroughs; I have hundreads of hours on the entire saga so far, and I just recently platinumed Asylum, AND STILL had to look up stealth walkthroughs on the hardest maps - these shits are the toughest thing the entire saga has to offer Obviously this only aplies to Asylum, since skill ceiling in Arkham City goes through the roof, and into the fucking inter-galactic space

Just some tips for the combat zanny. Use your dodge roll to cover distance and keep your combo if an enemy is far away. Combo takedowns and knocking enemies down with throws can also help get extra points. But again dodge rolls are essential to extending your combos and moving around the arena so that you can do those moves in the first place.
My advice in the combat challenges is to hit then dodge on top of an enemy and this works for every trophy related to combat, because the dodge on top of an enemy keeps your hit meter and while dodging you don't take damage except for the shock and awe (extreme) challenge this needs the use of your equipment and needs to be very fast and this method work with every other Batman Arkham games Extra: when you build your hit combo you can use the instant take down and with the last enemy you can do a ground take down when you have a high hit combo and to make an enemy fall on the ground you can stunt him and then hit him or use the batclaw to get him on the ground
The advice you were getting on stream sucks: 1. Aim your strikes so you hit the guy furthest away from you to give time for people to get back up 2. Pace your strikes so again it gives time for people to get back up 3. Start using your stun strikes again to give time for people to get up and also get a higher combo These are the basics for an x y/ square triangle enjoyer
This gameplay reminds me of whenever my Dad would run challenges and could barely make it to round 4 even on Intensive Treatment. 9 year old me would step in and run Extreme Sewer Bat with 3 stars.
In all honesty, the stealth challenges were SOOO much easier than the combat, I spent like 4-5 tries for each of the extreme combat maps, but I was always able to do the stealth (normal and extreme) in a single try, or at most 2 tries
Honestly zany I would recommend you do the 100% for knight mainly because the combat is more tuned up and can easily judge who you want to it. Vs Arkham where it’s a little older but still fun. But that’s my opinion
One good thing about these, is that if you've mastered them in Asylum. City will be an absolute cakewalk with the combat challenges. Sure they've got alot of new gadgets to introduced, but they're alot more streamlined and on keyboard you even have a new button for Special Takedowns. Got 100K in the Iceberg lounge within like 30 minutes of starting City, myself after having just 100%'d Asylum.
The key to getting 3 stars is to use the crit punches, thats when you time the punch button when you land your previous attack, by picking a direction when crit punching, you can literally fly accross the map if you target someone standing up accross the room. Crit punches also count double for your combo meter, thats how you know you did it right, if your combo went up by 2

The best thing to do to get a high combo and not get hit. You punch an enemy then you evade over the person you hit then hit another enemy. Do that to load up finisher move. Easy 200 combo with that trick.
Got 100% on Arkham asylum a couple days ago. Was stuck on extreme rumble In the jungle. You just gotta keep your combo up, don’t get hit, counter and use special moves. You get a bonus if you don’t get hit. For extreme rumble in the jungle use the Titan to gain more score but make sure not to get hit.
Two things, you need to point at the direction of the enemy to hit them, and also, you need to measure the timing of the punchs and counters. It's not just spamming square and triangle. Plus, you can do a finisher if the combo is yellow by pressing triangle + circle (Y+B), they will not hit you during that. Plus x2, the attack that gives you more points is the pounding attack in the ground, so I reccomend you to use it at the end or when your enemies are far away / on the ground. Plus x3, DON'T RUN OR IT WILL RUIN YOUR COMBO, the most important thing here is keep the combo going. What you CAN do, is evade above enemies by pressing X (A) so it doesn't ruin your combo. Plus x4 (I'm not stopping I know) as your combo grows, you can reach further enemies. That was a lot of things actually hehe, good luck ;3
The big thing about Arkham that's different from Spider-Man is there is a rhythm to follow with taking on enemies. The one safe thing to keep a combo going is to dive which is the double tap whatever the down button is (Xbox is A, PlayStation is X, etc.)
Zanny dodge (double tap A) in between attacks when there are no enemies close. also you cant get hit when doing the Y+B so you can use it as an option select if ur about to get hit
To this day the only Challenge Map I haven't beaten is the Combat one with the three-tiered zappy floors (Harley's final boss room I think), getting the multipliers up is a pain in the cape.

Day 1 of telling Zanny that Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor & Shadow of War are basically just a reskin of the Akrham games but an even more satisfying power fantasy than Batman beating up insane thugs for like 5 games.
As someone who has grinded the combat challenges for way too long, let me break it down easy. You have a one second grace period between any action before the combo drops. Evading once is a valid way to refresh the grace period, and you can vault over enemies as many times times as you like to keep the combo going. Special combo moves like takedown and throw will stop any incoming attacks from hitting you, even if you use it on an enemy that isn't attacking you. Similary, vaulting will also prevent attacks from landing, and you even get i-frames during the vault animation. Those tips alone should let you ace any combat challenge you come across in these games. Good luck!.
you need to master the critical strikes. you have to get a combo of 3 to get into a flow, then instead of pressing the attack super fast you have to do it like every half a second. once you master this you can one shot pretty much any goon with a high enough combo
If they included a rival system in the Arkham games, it would be a lot of fun and motivate you to properly learn the games mechanics and score more points. You also have an excuse to shit on your friends for being a better Batman than them.

Seeing Asylum's combat always made me appreciate AC and AK combat more. It's so smooth and refined in the sequels, making the original seemed janky in comparison
@thefirstcurse3123 i mean the campaign compared to challenges. Knight for me had more variety of enemies which demanded more combos and gadget uses. For the challenges, I can't really comment cause I didn't play them nor do I remember.
@@jommsnow I get where you're coming from but in Knight you have so many tools at your disposal that it makes it easy. You just have to remember all of them. Asylum is overall the hardest because of how limited you are. Origins has the hardest challenge in the quadrilogy with it's I Am The Knight mode, which is permadeath on the hardest difficulty. I do still think that Knight is harder than City, where the free flow combo time slow was broken among with Batman having other overpowered gadgets and abilities.

when i did the challenge maps, it took me halfway through city's for me to get a zenkai boost that made everything click

If you are too far away you need to do the evade/combat roll, or when you dont know what to do to get a second to think, and you will keep combo.

As someone who has grinded the combat challenges for way too long, let me break it down easy.
