The Sox winning that year was all the proof you needed that LOST was guided by destiny. They had not won the World Series when the episode "Outlaws" was filmed (where Sawyer meets Christian in the bar in Australia.)
i love the way ben breaks his always in control persona to almost chit chatting with jack. " they were down three to zero to the yankees and..." that scene and bens scene with john about the man from tally. classic
"That's why the Sox will never win the world series" was kind of his dad's way of saying miracles don't happen, and ben showing jack that they did win the series was meant to show him that sometimes it's not foolish to hope for impossible things. Even after his dad died their relationship still hedged around jack wanting to be a better man than his father.
One of my most favorite scene & episode on Lost. The bizarre situation, the conflict along with the element of surprise is just poetic. You also don’t need to be an expert to see the magnificent acting. Marvelous …
I can see how that last scene would be absolutely hilariously stupid and melodramatic out of context, for someone who hadn't seen the previous scenes about Christian using the losing streak as a way to convince himself to accept life's unhappy turns
The two scenes where Jack and Sawyer talk about Christian are similar and yet reversed. Jack is chopping wood, Sawyer gives him a gun, Jack talks about Christian and Sawyer listens to him silently. In the second scene, Sawyer is chopping wood, Jack gives him a gun, Sawyer talks about Christian and Jack listens to him silently. The circle is complete, like when we travel around the world, a small world in the end.
Sawyer's character arc is my favourite in the series. He entered the story one person and was completely different by the end. They all were but I found Sawyer's journey the most compelling.
i dont know why i found it funny, but i just burst into laughter the moment dude stood up and walked to the TV with the "no fucking way..." stare on his face
Jack: Was... he's dead!.... Why do you wanna know about my father? Sawyer thinking "should i tell him that i met his father?" : No reason.... *Michael Giacchino's music acute the emotion of the scene* This is Lost!
It’s so sad that people have forgotten about this great show. The soundtrack alone was a masterpiece. And even if they’d gibe the show a shot a lot don’t seem to get the point and meaning behind everything the characters habe gone through and just assume they were dead the whole time
@@user-wi1od1fp7d Exactly. Some people watch it now because it's on Amazon Prime Video, but they don't really understand the meaning of the show. They only see action, survivors, and a jungle. John F’ing Kerry, who nobody liked, telling he voted for the bill before he voted against it? He’ll go down in history as one of the worst candidates with Gary Hart and Gov Dukakis.
He's at least a little better now, but yeah. Love the "Joe buck sucks" t-shirt flashed behind home plate this year. And then the titties of course... Game 7 tomorrow...
Wow, I don't know how I missed that, I think that it's a frame or a few from brighter blue background the bar scene that found it's way in there somehow. It wasn't in the episode I don't think. :D
I watched this episode of Lost for the first time tonight and I laughed so hard when I first heard the line cuz the Red Soxs won the World Series just 6 days ago hahahahaha.
no i think he's the guy who killed off jacob. U know that guy who always wanted to kill Jacob for almost 200 years and he was going to find his loophole on the beach. And that guy I think is the smoke monster because the smoke monster can take up many different kinds of forms.
Yeah, not that hard to pause the video on 0.25 speed for it; just give it a few tries starting at 1:35 each time, right after "a few days ago" is where you want it, marker will say 1:36. Was it part of real show or done by poster of this video? It's sawyer pouring drink for Christian, so relevant subliminal message foreshadowing next minute of J & S's conversation
They kinda did after Jack returned post John Locke blowing up the sub that Jack was supposed to take (near end of Season 3). THIS was the first time Jack and Sawyer saw each other after Jack saw Sawyer with Kate (in the cages). They did a handshake and then a bro hug. At least that's the version I saw on HULU recently. Now...Sawyer told Jack how Ana-Lucia got his gun...and Jack asked Sawyer WHY are you telling me this. Sawyer says, cuz you're about the closest thing I got to friend!
@@victorpradha9946 Ahh I do recall that scene actually can't believe I forgot that. Watched the whole show more than 5 times and still didn't notice it lol. Appreciate it brother.
@@alexhanes6766 The look of disappointment on Sawyer's face that his time as a "leader" was so short lived was quite illuminating. Sawyer wants to be the go to guy...but with Jack, Sayid, John around...no room to become that!
The show began airing in 2004. By the time they wrote the first lines for those episodes "That's why the Sox will never win the series", the 2004 Championship would already have happened.
@@TheDisaster71Set it to 0×.25 speed and keep clicking pause. It shows a flash of the bar scene from the beginning of this clip. But I have no idea if its supposed to happen in the TV show or just an editing mistake on this video.
Wish Christian was from SF instead of Boston and Flight 815 crashed in 2010 instead of 2004 so he can talk to Sawyer in September saying "That's why the Giants will never win the World Series" and than Ben will show Jack the Giants winning the World Series with the same reaction!
Jacob was definitely like "Yo Richard, show Jack this recording of the Red Sox winning lol. Trust me, he will freak out it will be hilarious"
"Trying to be funny?"
"Yeah."
You gotta love Sawyer

Should have added the scene where Sawyer tells Jack about his father
The video was not about that resolution though))
Yeah the Red Sox aren’t mentioned in that scene

i love how ben linus had the footage of the world series already set up
.avi file
Ben was always a guy with a plan.
Yup he already knew Jack wouldn’t believe him so he had to be prepared with some proof.
I really hope Jack wasn't a Red Sox fan, because to miss their world series run, would be more painful than anything he went through.
Zack Tobin they got a good team this year
he was a red sox fan
Jaswinder Parmar u guys won now u r bad
they actually mention that he misses the run later in the show
@Abyss now we’re good again
17 year old upload! Wow. And still pretty good quality.
I wouldn't have believed the Sox had won (and come back from down 0-3) had I not witnessed it myself.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. You need to add the part where Sawyer tells Jack about Christian, before leaving on the raft.
I just love how he conveniantly had the red sox video on hand ..
What Ben ??
He bought it for that purpose...

Typical Lost: People deliberately keeping important things from one another as a plot contrivance to keep the story going.
@@akshaynatu6568 definitely not a plot contrivance, it makes a lot of sense that sawyer didn't say anything
That is considered the greatest postseason series in MLB history for a good reason
Sawyer calling Hurley a Deep dish and Mutton chop was the funniest thing Lol
Holy shit did Sawyer point a loaded gun at Jack with his finger on the trigger?
Meanwhile Jack's all shits and giggles.

excellent work, kudos!
I want that remote control!!!
I would've found it more surprising that we re-elected Bush.
you're obviously not a red sox fan
until Trump, then Even BEN would have shat his pants.
It wasn't a surprise. The majority of Americans STILL supported the War in Iraq in 2004. It wasn't until 2005/2006 until the wheels really came off.

Did this show come out before or after the '04 World Series? Because if it was before than that is the luckiest shit ever to happen to TV writers.
