I work for my father’s landscaping company and manage his lawn maintenance accounts. I needed two weed wackers. Found 2 kids younger than me ages 18 and 20. They worked their hardest the first day from there their work ethic went downhill. They would call out “sick” and always leave it to me and my other guy to get our maintenance days done. Sometimes id rather do it all myself but where the time to weed wack edge cut and blow 20+ properties a day that all vary in size one could be less than an acre and some are more than 1. All in all we found two brothers from mexico that desperately need a job and these Men get to work not stand arounds.

It honestly sucked to be a hardworker. The more you do the more they want. With no compensation. Most jobs we do we need a certain amount of people on the job. So they throw a few good workers and the rest just bodies. Push the good ones and cater to the bad.

I run a painting business , and shake my fucking head everyday with my crew. I tell them every day with them is like their first day , they just don't get any smarter? They could see my ladder starting to fall, and not get off their ass to grab it, just let me fall, then tell me they saw it moving.

This is one of the best ways to see exactly what is going on with business. Years ago, well before the TV show, I had 45 employees with my electrical contracting business. After getting them split up on jobs and getting them going, I would often leave the jobsite before noon to go to other sites, meetings or back to the office to work on engineering projects. Started noticing less and less work was getting completed the afternoons I wasn't there babysitting grown ass men. I left the jobsite one day, drove 2 blocks, parked the truck and walked back to jobsite but went in the building next door which was a new construction project. I sat in that building and watched the guys for over an hour. The surprised look on their faces when I walked up on the jobsite, instead of them seeing my truck coming and them starting back to work! I thinned crews that day.

I do construction we get so pissed at landscapers because tons of them pick the flags out. There was one job they’d come pull everything we’d call the job to be located back in. They’d locate it then the mowers would pull them we caught them act told them that big trouble for pulling them flags. They stopped then I think a lot of it is just stupidity
