1660 is basically the entry level to t4 content. Everything below is old stuff. Where we will see increased gatekeeping due to people not having ark passive. There is already a huge diff between vet players with good classes and newbies/returnees. Add the t3 power system like elixir/120 flowers which has no influence on your item level and LoS as cherry on top. New pet skills are coming on the 27th of november. The cost are insane for people without a roster. The entry limits have to go. And the give us an event for 1520-1620 ...instead of 1620+.
Advanced Honing was almost meant to be an alternative to +20 and +21 T3 hones to help KR hit 1640 for behemoth. I agree the system doesn't make much sense anymore now that the raid ilvls have been tweaked for the western region, but advanced honing will still serve the same function in T4. An alternative honing system for when the honing rates get quite low. +17 for 1-10 and +19 for 11-20. The only reason people are complaining now is because Aegir NM seems unreachable to most and there is a system that is in front of them they cant use. It's optically frustrating but AH was not intended to bridge the gap from 1640-1660. If they want to update the intent of AH, it would make more sense to directly use echidna scales/eyes (no mats) as inputs and do away with tempering. If not, it'll just be useful the same way it was for the end of T3.
In my opinion the main difference was just the time KR got with AH.. They essentially didn't have an issue like us because of it. But IMO 1660 isn't all that awful to hit I just did on one of my alts last week that had 0 AH, tried pushing another but full pitied all my weapon hones 10-14 (rip shards). Would love to push all my chars, but Weapon Trans, Oreha and Blues are way too expensive to do that this / next week. I feel like its just people fomoing themselves into oblivion. But what I do agree on is that its shitty that the system only ever starts being relevant on my 0 AH chars once I stop doing the raid itself. At +16 (1670) id be doing Thaemine, Aegir and Brel 2, AH starts being relavant at +16..
The main issue is that avg. KR players needed Adv. Honing to hit Behemoth it was 1640 so at minimum most players did +10 adv. honing on all pieces of armor and if they felt spicy they did +20 on weapon as there is bias in KR for a honing weapon. The system was never free as it was sold to players by some influencers. Even if we compare the cost to relative levels, the "cheaper" argument is irrelevant when the system still costs 820K gold and 12k Orhea stones on average. Devs also can't depreciate such a costly system and say people who invested were stupid because T4 costs half of T3 costs. So I can understand why devs priced it the way it is. This highlights the issue of making changes for the benefit of our region (such as keeping 1630 for Echidna HM while implementing 1620 Behemoth) without addressing the next systems. Additionally, since this is an evergreen system, players will eventually need to engage with it and complete it.
I really was hoping advance honing was going to be the way moving forward. But nah, turns out it was just another random power system you have to deal with. Do hope they do something soon because after Ignite only ignited some exploiting, things have been looking very dark and bleak to me when I look at the Lost Ark NA future.
