There are couple of issues with support that have never been addressed and continue to get worse. 1. The utility the support gives has increased exponentially and raids are balanced around having a support. You used to be able go into a raid with 4 dps as a last resort, but that became harder with Brel and was killed with Akkan 2. No feedback for anything. I like the idea of adding a huge number for supports after their identity buff ends that shows how much that identity provided. It'll also teach supports by showing them when had a bad identity vs a good one. I'd also add this for all their other buffs, but as individual numbers, which could be a different color and smaller for visual clarity. You could even extend this out to their defensive abilities, show them how much damage was blocked above the player when damage is blocked. Maybe even add a "SAVED" feature that shows if you saved someone that would've otherwise died. 3. The supports are becoming more same than different. For the sake of balance, they have given all the supports basically the same stuff. Outside of Bard GT & artist portals, they all play the same and DPS players expect the same regardless of the support. 4. Ark passive does jack shit for supports. While all the DPS players are eager to unlock their ark passive, supports just get more of the same. It could've been a great tool to allow supports to change their playstyle, but they just gave more and bigger damage buffs. Imagine if they added something like "Your T skill no longer gives outgoing damage. Instead it gives X% movespd and atkspd% that bypasses the speed caps" "Your T skill no longer gives outgoing damage. Instead it reduces cooldowns on your party's normal skills by X% or flat time." "Your identity now gives 1s of push immunity to your party on cast" "You can no longer give dmg buffs from normal skills. Your Specialty meter gain is increased by 100% and effectiveness is doubled" All of this would need to balanced, but the idea is to give them something interesting that increases skill expression or changes playstyle.
Really neat points and ideas. Point 3 I feel at a base level, the supports kinda have to be the same, but I understand what you mean. However, you are right that the ark passive definitely should've provided actual playstyle changes, and this is where the supports should all differ from themselves in my opinion.
Hi John! I always felt like one of the main issues with supports is that they are tied to the "buff" type of gameplay instead of having another choice like the "healing" type that MMO players are prolly used to. Imagine this: raids from now on have some sort of "extra" cheap unavoidable damage going on, kinda like all the bullshit that there is in the Prunya fight, for example. With a proper rework to how parties and supports interact (let's say the buffs of 1 support can affect 8-16 instead of 4), you could still recquire 2 supps for endgame raids, but for example 1 of them would dedicate their entire kit to meter gauge and pumping buffs; the other one would dedicate their entire kit to shield/dr/and healing. Some of the base % of dr and shields from skills should be nerfed so that only this "healer" type of supports could really protect their allies or else we would end with overtuned supports. Imagine doing aegir with 1 support that buffs everyone and then a support that just focuses on giving everyone shields, popping those clutch rhapsodies, etc because his raid knowledge lets him know when this dps is about to get hit seriously, etc. It would also allow for supports to have different type of ark passive evolution nodes (imagine a destructive grasp set but on t4, kind of). Idk, I'd definetely love to play more of a "healer" support in LoA as fresh breath of air.
Personally, I think AGS needs to provide incentive for support role (FF14 has it with gold/weekly tomes faster to obtained) All support roles should have a permanent honing buff reduction for mats/gold. This won't necessarily make someone switch but al least vast majority will have a well gear ALT to alleviate demand specially during new raids.
It is a wrong approach to attract people to play supports just because it is more lucrative. People should play them because they have FUN playing them, not because it gives you X and Y more mats and gold because all it would do is breeding a bunch of low motivation, low effort, low patience supports who would only play them because they can feed more into other non-support characters. It will produce exactly zero new support mains who can do HM difficulty on release.
There's a simple solution that requires minimal effort from Smilegate: remove the 6-character limit for support classes. I’m sure plenty of dedicated players would gladly create multiple support characters. Adding a support-exclusive powerpass along the way. Of course, this isn’t a true solution since supports are still not very engaging to play, but it could serve as a quick fix. Personally, I quit the game when Brel Normal was released. I consider myself a pretty capable player, but the endless cycle of jailing-week after week, character after character-was more than I could handle. Not to mention the endless "lobby simulator" before you even get into a raid. It's shocking to see that, two years later, the situation hasn’t improved. I wonder how the game has managed to persist with such a massive issue untouched for so so so long.
In its early days, LA wasn’t really designed around supports. The game already has ways of managing mitigation (dodging, counters, stagger, and battle items). It’s set up to make you more self sufficient. Doubling down on support as a playstyle was frankly a mistake. Smilegate doesn’t prioritize it because it’s never popular and they want every class release to maximize profit. They make content that needs supports now, but they don’t care if the supports have fun. If you’re a support in LA, you aren’t the consumer. You’re the product. You provide a service so that players can play the game and have fun. It’s extreme, but I wish they’d bite the bullet and change the supports to be more like Gunlancer. Buff battle items. Adjust encounter damage. Make this unpopular role less demanded to just play the game and instead accept that a more active, independent game is what Lost Ark truly is.
i agree with this completely. as a sup main, i would prefer being more of a utility dps with maybe some debuffs and minor shields. supports provide so much now that they're not jus expected to cover a ton of bases, but essentially required to since the game has been designed around what they provide.
I remember more or less a year ago, when GoldRiver had to come back for the emergency broadcast, they mentioned that they would be adding visual feedback for supports so that they know if they're doing good or bad LIVE like DPS players rather than at the end of the whole raid. They forgot. I myself main bards. 2x HM and 2x NM and while Aegir is really fun, as someone who plays supports in every single game, the role is by far the least fun in LOA, irony being that LOA has one of the best combats in all of MMORPGs. DPS players like to mention how supports are too OP, but the supports themselves will never see how broken they are or how much progress their character made after having invested millions of gold compared to the same character before the investment. Why would more people make supports if its not fun or they don't see any progress despite putting in time/money ? I've also noticed more people directly mentioning supports in the raids and appreciating them, whether its because of the lack of supports or the lack of DPS meter I don't know, but I just wish we could see progress on our characters too, and sadly T4 changes nothing.
year ago GoldRiver promes to DELETE Yarrning set and back attack set. and rework Destraction set and Supports skills to game play be interactive and fun. and all of this promises was about t4. Back attack set deleted but other....
a good change for supports in my opinion that can make it exiting to play, is to add an option to the support to see a visual feedback for the provided buffs, it can be something like a green number above ur party mate that indicates how much extra mils his last skill did thanks to ur buff, like that supps will be able to tell when they are doing bad (no big numbers above ur party mate) so it make them more exiting to pump more buffs to see those satisfying numbers and give supps sense of accomplishment
I have a slightly different opinion on how Aegir was released in the west. If I recall correctly in a recent Lost Ark update post, AGS was strongly looking at ways to prevent progression being locked behind hard content. And while yes, ark passive can be turned on before 1680, the 4th node on ark passive is absolutely locked behind 1680 currently because you need access to ancient accessories, and 1680 basically is hard content level. The response I get is "just wait until they release more enlightenment point potions". While this would alleviate the issue, those extra points are some unknown time away in the future. The other response I get is to, again, wait until normal Brelshaza releases to get more points from the karma system. While I agree that supports do need to be looked at and changed in some way, I feel the main issue even after that is barring entry to the start of the new ark passive stuff at 1680. They could rework the 4th node for supports change their playstyles all uniquely, but it shouldn't be locked behind hard content on release. TL;DR, remove the 1680 restriction on ancient accessories.
I rly hope they do more for Supports. I like playing my Supports but at the same time I dont get much progression on them. If I focus on my Main to reach the newest Raid I have to leave my alt chars behind and when I have time again to invest in them its hard to get in Groups. The moment I got the GS to get with them into a Raid I am declined because of my Elexiers (for not having Ally Enhancement) or my Transendence (40 to 60 Flowers). One Mate already had the idea for at least the time saving aspect on Transendence - the moment you complet a Character (mostly your Main) to 120 Points of Transendence, the NPC where you can buy the Sound Stones give you the option to pay a fixed amount of Gold to get the paying Char to 120 Points. (Like each Piece to 20 Points costs around 100 to 200k) Seeing the number will hurt but its a fixed upgrade to all Characters - not only Supports and will lower the Gatekeeping reason a bit.
On hit dmg from supports would be nice, like the animation would make it feel we are contributing more, or burns taken from shields when active. Like nerf dmg buffs but increase personal dmg in fun ways
i got 9 supports in my roster but only 2 of my support is 1660, its way to expensive to level up chars. 1640 - 1660 is not that bad but going from 1580 - 1620 is a real pain. And ofc if you dont do Advance honing before you go into tier4 you will lose alot of gold.
Can you tell a little more on why is there a gold loss if not advance honing? I am a fall behind player who went to 1640 right after 1620. You can’t do advance honing at t4?
@@ChronoTample If you dont advance hone in tier3 you need to advance hone in tier4 and if you advance hone in tier4 you need to use tier4 materials. It's pretty simple when you think about it, tier4 materials are way more expensive than tier3 materials.
My friend and I said that they should add damage number feedback when you buff your party and the dmg numbers you see are a different color than everything else so you can see the feedback visually I think this would lend to being a much better experience as a support as well as also showing the icons of your buffs above the other players characters so you don't have to look down at your bar to see the cds and know when your buffs are gona fall so you have easier uptime management. I really do think these are two really really cool changes that would make them way better to play.
In WoW they made it so that the Healer (sup) deals damage and helps the general dps in the endgame content (hard level or above) and they also increased the amount of healing needed for this content. Here there should be a damage feedback option for the SUP.
Hey John great vid, I know support homogenization is an issue but an obstacle to tackle would be some level of support gatekeeping for certain fights. The best example I can think of is when Extreme Valtan came out, bards were being rejected from groups due to no cleanse, but I do agree that the pros outweigh the cons, they've got to do something especially visual feedback.
Artists splattering ink paint on the team is a cool idea! Def felt like a hot commodity during Aegir HM, though lol. Party said full but had 10+ ppl still apply. I'm doing God's work having 5 supps on roster! 👼
I wish Bard had rhythm based skills kinda like Bard in Dark and Darker. Every single buff should be songs you are playing and get rewarded for completing the song all the way.
I would gladly add a support as my 2nd main, I enjoy the playstyle a lot, never used meter either. It’s just so expensive atm, can’t afford it. Can’t even P2W legit either, the royals to gold conversion is 2650 in EUC now, and even at 4000 (which it previously were) it was still a scam compared to RMT. I don’t really know what to do except for buying a bus, getting a static (that’s not easy for your regular player, they’ll rather quit than do that), or you just gotta juice your character to the point where your roster is just rats. That’s my take on this at least, i’m a pretty casual player/semi hardcore 1 main andie. My highest char is 1660 and that was only possible because I sold my rosters gems/skins. And i’m still playing lobby sim, yet to even enter Aegir G1. Thanks for covering this topic. I hope things get better next week for us puggers.
Lost Ark would do great with a character tagging system that copies your gear to 1 other character. I love filling in the role that is needed and also love the utility. I main GL so I would love to also play my bard as well. Tagging would allow people who have support secondaries like myself to pick up the slack. As for support feedback, supports should get an adrenaline system to let you know your uptime through stacks. Supports can get a stacking counter for each unique player buffed by the atk power increase. That way when you overlap buffs, you know you messed up. Your max can be 30 with 10 stacks for each party member. The stacks can decay so you can see when your buffs start falling off. The same thing can be done for the brand uptime where the counter resets after the brand drops from the boss. The max can be 10 and then just drops to 0 on brand timeout. The system is kinda funky when fighting with 2 or more targets so i guess you can make the brand stack syncs with your allies hitting the target.
I think SG is tracking on it because recently they are mad at players being unhappy with a lot of balancing. Refusing to nerf DB, Soul eater, and they are forced to buff CO summoner since the player now have DATA on who's strong and who's weak. So people will complain. And even to this day they are really stingy in buffing CO, even with the recent buff it's still not enought to make it viable, it would need a 60% dmg buff accross the board to be decent.
@@johnpaltv Not only that but if you look at loawa, and you look at the amount of esther weapon each class has, DB, Soul eater, Sorc, Breaker being the highest amount of owned esther weapons. And those class are still the strongest in the game even in T4. Brel would not have such a high dps check issue in KR if every class was as strong as DB and Soul eater. The DPS meter is such an issue in KR because of that. And SG is catching onto it.
Would be great if supports could trixion test things. Give us an npc that does set dmg number to boss dummy. It gains benefits from yearning/ap buffs etc.
Great video good catches ! Sorry to bring a bit of negativity but i am really concerned about lost ark in 2025 : Igniters will soon get gatekeep on legacy servers and quit again, raid releases goes in fullspeed and avg people fail to keep up, ark passive gatekeep inc by community standards, support shortage and brel v2 (december) that will discourage an other part of people that will quit… also probably some other stockpiled vertical abominations that we will discover at winter LoAON What do u think John do i am pessimistic or in touch with incoming reality ? I enjoy LOA but i fear that we will hear crickets this summer2025 in Arkesia so I hope streamers like u and stoopz will bring red flags to AGS o7
I have a 1600 Paladin that I love playing. However its extremely expensive to hone them to 1620, plus they don't have trans or elixirs, so that another HUGE cost. Until they make it easier to for me to hone/catch up on a support, I'll just stick to DPS and doing solo raids.
Im in the same boat as you as well, except mine is 1610. I would try to do Thaemine but I also dont have elixirs yet. I have to focus on my main that is currently 1660 rather than invest too much into alts, which many make the mistake of doing. The funny thing is I was going to have my paladin as my 1640 alt, but I decided on Striker instead because I no longer have a buddy to swap supports with.
feedback is definitely the main reason people don't want to pump supports up gunlancers are very popular because timing an awakening or X or nella on a dangerous pattern or to enable a dps opportunity is something no other support can provide yea awkaening is cool and all and dr is amazing but it doesn't stop you from inspecting the floor and supports are WAY too powerful man like they cna straight nerf them by 50% and they still might be the highest rdps class it's crazy so nerf them rebalance raids to not require this monstrocity in the lobby and give them unique interactions that feel powerful rewarding and fun to use from both support and dps perspective
If SG and AGS want players in T4 and experience the latest content they should change the game so much to achieve that. All the honing boosts and discounts on Ignite servers should be a base at least, free 40 set, lvl 3 trans minimum and other things on Ignite right now. They should also improve Mari['s shop where it would make sense for most players to buy isntead of using the market since it's cheaper.
More rewarding playstyle for support can be fixed by community, simply say couple of nice words to your support and thinks will be much better. It may not sound like much but even small compliment goes a long way.
Need to just make supports a dps with pseudo support stuff like gunlancer. Maybe Paladin heals allies based on dmg dealt, bard gets dmg based on the buffs applied to allys, artists can maintain stacks of black ink on the enemy to empower their identity.
Good points but People have short memory; it's not the same for all raid release; both Echnida and Thaemine HM were LF DPS at release; i had a very hard time as a main support. Once the initial rush dies off you will see mostly LF DPS just like all previous raid. After Echnida release and seeing this pattern i killed my support roster except 1 as its much easier to farm old raid for gold as dps.
I think getting some sort of number of how much dmg you increased in game like dps get for hitting stuff as a feedback for supports would go a long way. Though i have the feeling SG is looking into that sort of thing for quite some time and they cant find a way to go about it. As a dps i never felt the need to use meter because the in raid feedback is sufficient, i can see how support players want it.
in EU its enough supports on aegir nm. I did 4 on ilvl runs this week and we were making lobbys in less than 10-15 minutes every time. On hm difficulty it was always a problem for the first 3-4 weeks since raid release. So having 2 supports in your rooster wont help if they are not doing highest content possible day 1. In EU a lot of ppl have suports in their roosters and gl finding one for hm week 1. :D
Doing solo content like solo quests, chaos etc is so annoying on a support. Not only that, we have to farm solo content to farm for our characters. DPS can farm chaos easily , but for supports, they should give us discounted honing buffs or something.
Imo AGS dropped the ball. Even in Kr when aegir dropped (they had WAY more time to hone) had a support shortage for some time. Knowing this, aga should have lowered the ilvl to 1640 normal and 1660 hard. But i assume they didn’t do that bc they’d have to recode ancient accessories to 1660. Still, i think doing this would have been better
I think there's a lot to the lack of uniqueness on each support and lack of paths to choose as a support. Like technically speaking you only have one class engraving to choose while DPS classes has the actual abilitiy to choose their playstyle. Then there's the issue with the ark passive on how far down the tree they are putting the yearning effects, making supports having to have 3 Aegir pieces instead of 1 or 2, it feels like they are purposely punishing supports instead of rewarding them for playing a less popular role. I think SG needs to go back to the drawing board on the design of supports and do a full revamp: * First of all it should be rewarding to play a support role (Ie making it easier to unlock ark passive, elixirs etc) * SG needs to add options for how supports are played class engraving wise * Give Supports more details about mark up times, buff uptimes etc after each gate or a general summary at the end * Each class should be more unique, especially identity. All the support classes are the same "brr, enough gauge for buff/heal "dps go brrrrr""
If supports were so different then everybody would create the obvous best one and then you're back to the same issue, everyone doing the same. Supports have to be removed, turned into pseudo dps like GL and that's it. They are already too powerful, we don't need to add more shit to them to make them even MORE necessary than they already are.
I strongly disagree on the homogenization of supports. Giving them all unique things is something WoW does and it fails pretty badly because it now forces some classes to be "required" while other classes are considered worthless even if from a performance standpoint they are sufficient. WoW largely gets around this because it's incredibly easy to switch mains to play the meta spec.... that's not feasible in Lost Ark anymore. Imagine for a second how long all these people are waiting no imagine they no longer wanted to take Paladin and Bard's and only wanted Artists. Is that an improvement? No. There are also lots of supports they just are alts and honing is prohibitively expensive. If it was easy to get to 1660 it would immediately solve the support shortage in NM because there are TONS at 1640 that people aren't honing up because they are focusing on their mains.
Honing needs to be softened up; it’s such a horrible rng experience and I personally don’t rush to hm because of the cost and the bad feeling you get from pitying. It’s great for gambling addicts but I have to believe most players don’t care for it. If they want more players the honing rates need to be adjusted to make it easier to get into current content. Add this to the other rng systems like elixirs and transcendence; it’s hard to keep up.
Smilegate screwed themselves with support. They dont know what to do with them, early raids and game philosophy was theres no holy trinity, you dont need a healer and theres no dedicated tank. Now they design raids where its impossible to clear without them. They have gone so long without fixing them they are now in this weird limbo, cause theres people who like the current playstyles and have spent money on these characters. So how do they overhaul the design without pissing a bunch of people off? They let this problem go unchecked for way too long
so disappointing that they gave all 3 supports the same T-skill and Hyper Awakening. so much lost potential, so much skill expression gone. it's just proof that they don't know how to balance supports, so instead they... don't. the game needs new supports badly, but that's not all. it needs to be DIFFERENT. if we get another support, but it's the same Brand, Atk Power Buffs, and Identity, it's over. then I'd like ANY kind of feedback for how I'm playing. seeing Radiant Supporter on the MVP screen every time is not enough. even if I see the number, it barely means anything. I need hard data, I need uptime statistics.
supports same now, because before (when GunLancer,SoulFist,Bard was actualy supports) ppl cry...."we wana same support and just buffs and more classic mmo supports" insted of intresting game play and realy different Sгpport styles.
I have 3 Supports 1680, 1690, 1695 and I for my choice prefer pay carry with them instead join lobbies and try do anything. Im just giving what I been given since I start to play. I try be nice but people choose been suckers so I will give what they need, no supp for anything. Im glad I pay carries with them
So I have played the game since release as paladin but always jumped in and out depending on life. I stopped mythic raiding in wow when we had the baby as didn't have the time. Would love to get into lost ark and happy playing support but I feel worried to join lobby's as I don't know the fights. It would have been great if solo mode catered to support and allowed me to learn the fights as support. I don't want to waste people's time, but would love to play the game more.
artist in chaos dung is really fun, in raid is kind of dry.. and its so expensive to get a sup ot 1680 T_T. also so much pressure being a support. sup dies is auto reset
Or... Maybe ... Hear me out: Remove them? Like, just buff every class damage and survivability as if a supp was pumping 90/90/50 non-stop. And then rework the supports to become DPS. Boom, no more issue. I'm trolling a bit here ofc, but let's be honest for a sec. Every single game it's always the same. They design the game with a requirement for supports, tanks, healers, etc etc ... and yet everytime there are like 90% DPS. Why are game studios so hellbent on investing resources into something 10% of the playerbase enjoys, I don't get it?
That would have gimped people that are in a static. Would be fine if its like up to 2, but if you want to do 2 one of them has to be a support just to clarify.
I Would add to what you say about if you want to push another char it's super expensive, you aldo have to do transcendance and elixirs all over again and these 2 are so annoying to do it crushes te motivation to even do it again
SG had one job, make sups fun to play. They failed, sups are boring as shit. You get no feedback, you don't know if your uptime is ok, you do z damage. They NEED to release a true hybrid dps/sup class, something that actually feels good to play.
john i'm sorry to be this negative but the thing is that if they give support more stuff they will eventualy just make the raid more hard 😆 you give paladin a wall, they will doubledown on the fall death attack spam or oneshot patterns. because at the end of the day the truth is that part of their evil monetization plan is making the game intentionaly very difficult from time to time.. so people will seek ways to make it easier ... overgear or modern class being just better... like breaker you gotta be kidding... that defense stance.. while outputting that dps. the more agency we give to this freaking support role the more problematic the game will become. they just have to remove it and rebalance the utilities and dmg. they had the occasion to do so with new skill in tier 4.... like self purify, self push immunity, give atk speed and unbreakable mind to everybody like in ignite server damage reduction rune, the just guard could have been a push immunity panic button for all raid, not just for that purpose in kazeros raid, ah whatever anyway they will never remove sup, lost ark is doomed with this problem forever
1680 support main here. It's still as fun to play as DPS. You still have to do the mechs, you have to recognize when to use DR, you are usually the one doing the sidereal and leading the raid. On top of that, if you die, it's generally a wipe. As a DPS if you die the raid can carry on. It's actually very fun to play support and I don't get why more players don't even try it. As a support you feel like you're a god.
Gear and character growth feels very unrewarding on supports. Gems are not that important, ilvl is relatively irrelevant. Most supports have obly 8 skills on the bar so skill growth caps put early. I also personally did not like my performance being based on other people, but thats more of a personal taste for me on that one.
idk I think dps are kinda samey as well spec crit classes play like spec crit classes and same with piano classes very few classes have a different feel for me I'm not saying different classes don't feel more fun for me to play than others because they do but a lot of the classes I feel like I'm playing the same thing with a different skin. So idk about supports being the only thing that feels the same character to character. I can even give examples if you want, punisher/ignite sorc/surge db all the same class essentially with different skins. Pred slayer feels very samey to reflux sorc etc etc. "unique classes" that feel very different are things like reaper//gunlancer/gunslinger. Most are the former though.
6:28 "You shouldn't need meter to enjoy playing a support character". EXACTLY. I used to bark a lot about how SG did not implement the gameplay feedback despite telling us they'd do it during the emergency bandaid stream, and I was told to "stop dooming". On hindsight I realize that all those people were using meters and I was not, and now they're the ones barking louder than I ever did xDD.
Yeah I started getting whispers here and there offering gold to run HM Aegir. I only play the three support classes. Love the WoW disc priest playstyle. But, I have a static for all three with old WoW, high school, college and grad school buds accumulated playing different MMO’s throughout the years. I’ve always played heal bot especially love shielding and mitigating damage. Already cleared on all three this week. But, if the price is right next week, I might go offline on one or maybe even two 🤪
private express event for 1 sup in the roster that can hone fast and reach HM content for now that will be great game that rely 100% on support to just even play the game its a game that should not be Exsist how new players would even want playing this game how when they see all this i player over 2years every friend that ask me should i play this game i said NO!!! Don't want more people to suffer or regret wasting time for nothing
My static had to do NM this week because even tho we were all 1685+ 1 of our supports got banned in the RMT wave and we couldn’t find a replacement despite sitting in PF for hours
In what game in the world have you come across a situation where you have reached the content and you can't do it lost ark is the only game that works like that going and looking for a group is not a solution people want to play and enjoy their time it is such a failed game and the numbers speak for themselves you can p2w u can free2play you can do what ever you want Who determines your future in this game is Support class... that make 0 sense
Even with fun, engaging and unique gameplay, there will always be a support shortage on endgame content, the only real fix is to make having them in your comp desirable, like having a gunlancer, but not mandatory. Just allow full DPS parties to select a passive bonus to help mitigate attrition damage, the same way you select a passive for solo raids, IT IS THAT EASY TO SOLVE
There are couple of issues with support that have never been addressed and continue to get worse.
1. The utility the support gives has increased exponentially and raids are balanced around having a support. You used to be able go into a raid with 4 dps as a last resort, but that became harder with Brel and was killed with Akkan
Imagine if they added something like
"Your T skill no longer gives outgoing damage. Instead it gives X% movespd and atkspd% that bypasses the speed caps"
"Your T skill no longer gives outgoing damage. Instead it reduces cooldowns on your party's normal skills by X% or flat time."
"Your identity now gives 1s of push immunity to your party on cast"
"You can no longer give dmg buffs from normal skills. Your Specialty meter gain is increased by 100% and effectiveness is doubled"
All of this would need to balanced, but the idea is to give them something interesting that increases skill expression or changes playstyle.
Great feedback here!
Personally, I think AGS needs to provide incentive for support role (FF14 has it with gold/weekly tomes faster to obtained)
All support roles should have a permanent honing buff reduction for mats/gold. This won't necessarily make someone switch but al least vast majority will have a well gear ALT to alleviate demand specially during new raids.
@@ragnorak5095 That would be great to help supports catch up and stay caught up.
no. they are allready elitists this would make it even worse
I like that idea a lot.
Back attack set deleted but other....
a good change for supports in my opinion that can make it exiting to play, is to add an option to the support to see a visual feedback for the provided buffs,
it can be something like a green number above ur party mate that indicates how much extra mils his last skill did thanks to ur buff,
like that supps will be able to tell when they are doing bad (no big numbers above ur party mate)
so it make them more exiting to pump more buffs to see those satisfying numbers and give supps sense of accomplishment
(Like each Piece to 20 Points costs around 100 to 200k)
Seeing the number will hurt but its a fixed upgrade to all Characters - not only Supports and will lower the Gatekeeping reason a bit.
On hit dmg from supports would be nice, like the animation would make it feel we are contributing more, or burns taken from shields when active. Like nerf dmg buffs but increase personal dmg in fun ways
Good feedback!
i got 9 supports in my roster but only 2 of my support is 1660, its way to expensive to level up chars. 1640 - 1660 is not that bad but going from 1580 - 1620 is a real pain. And ofc if you dont do Advance honing before you go into tier4 you will lose alot of gold.
@@Startrance85 Yeah! Not doing advance honing hit a lot of people hard for sure.
@@Startrance85 thank you so much. Now I see where's the problem.
@@Aliveback I have mixed feeling about the direction wow went with damage requirements of healers in m+. It’s waffled between both sides of that.
@@dayinthedark Good feedback. Hopefully it is heard!
Honing to tier 4 should be only silver, the new starting point in the game should be 1640+

Pretty wild to put it into perspective with data to back it up!
Sorry to bring a bit of negativity but i am really concerned about lost ark in 2025 :
Igniters will soon get gatekeep on legacy servers and quit again, raid releases goes in fullspeed and avg people fail to keep up, ark passive gatekeep inc by community standards, support shortage and brel v2 (december) that will discourage an other part of people that will quit… also probably some other stockpiled vertical abominations that we will discover at winter LoAON
What do u think John do i am pessimistic or in touch with incoming reality ? I enjoy LOA but i fear that we will hear crickets this summer2025 in Arkesia so I hope streamers like u and stoopz will bring red flags to AGS

I have a 1600 Paladin that I love playing. However its extremely expensive to hone them to 1620, plus they don't have trans or elixirs, so that another HUGE cost. Until they make it easier to for me to hone/catch up on a support, I'll just stick to DPS and doing solo raids.
A good perspective for sure.
I have a 1650 Bard and it takes time for me 1660. I probably won't do Agir until November.
Im in the same boat as you as well, except mine is 1610. I would try to do Thaemine but I also dont have elixirs yet. I have to focus on my main that is currently 1660 rather than invest too much into alts, which many make the mistake of doing. The funny thing is I was going to have my paladin as my 1640 alt, but I decided on Striker instead because I no longer have a buddy to swap supports with.
feedback is definitely the main reason people don't want to pump supports up
gunlancers are very popular because timing an awakening or X or nella on a dangerous pattern or to enable a dps opportunity is something no other support can provide
yea awkaening is cool and all and dr is amazing but it doesn't stop you from inspecting the floor
and supports are WAY too powerful man
like they cna straight nerf them by 50% and they still might be the highest rdps class
it's crazy
so nerf them rebalance raids to not require this monstrocity in the lobby and give them unique interactions that feel powerful rewarding and fun to use from both support and dps perspective
Support is even less fun now without gods whispering in my ears telling how I did
More rewarding playstyle for support can be fixed by community, simply say couple of nice words to your support and thinks will be much better. It may not sound like much but even small compliment goes a long way.
I get a low key god complex beeing a support main, that is fun enough.
@@Johndtrx I meaaaaannnnn….
Thank you for being a support.

@@2ui3yUmeKEyYtP6fxVkzpu Great feedback!
I think SG needs to go back to the drawing board on the design of supports and do a full revamp:
* First of all it should be rewarding to play a support role (Ie making it easier to unlock ark passive, elixirs etc)
* SG needs to add options for how supports are played class engraving wise
* Give Supports more details about mark up times, buff uptimes etc after each gate or a general summary at the end
* Each class should be more unique, especially identity.
AGS PLEASE listen to our favorite industry plant PLEASE. BRING BACK METER OR SOME FORM OF IT 🙏
I strongly disagree on the homogenization of supports.

They let this problem go unchecked for way too long

great loa streamer. feel like you're improving also
so disappointing that they gave all 3 supports the same T-skill and Hyper Awakening. so much lost potential, so much skill expression gone. it's just proof that they don't know how to balance supports, so instead they... don't. the game needs new supports badly, but that's not all. it needs to be DIFFERENT. if we get another support, but it's the same Brand, Atk Power Buffs, and Identity, it's over.
then I'd like ANY kind of feedback for how I'm playing. seeing Radiant Supporter on the MVP screen every time is not enough. even if I see the number, it barely means anything. I need hard data, I need uptime statistics.

I don't do raids(except for solo) and I mainly play for the story content. I feel bad for anyone playing for the sole purpose of being at the top.
So I have played the game since release as paladin but always jumped in and out depending on life. I stopped mythic raiding in wow when we had the baby as didn't have the time. Would love to get into lost ark and happy playing support but I feel worried to join lobby's as I don't know the fights.

@MostWantedWannaBE I have DPS alts as well. Other than chasing big numbers it's about the same to me anyways.

idk I think dps are kinda samey as well spec crit classes play like spec crit classes and same with piano classes very few classes have a different feel for me I'm not saying different classes don't feel more fun for me to play than others because they do but a lot of the classes I feel like I'm playing the same thing with a different skin. So idk about supports being the only thing that feels the same character to character. I can even give examples if you want, punisher/ignite sorc/surge db all the same class essentially with different skins.
@@barosia8330 That’s another idea! We used to run all the raids without support, you just burn a lot more potions.
Just make Aegir normal 1640 and hard 1660. It's a quick fix for NA
support a raid, get 50% bonus bound gold; ez fix
@@roflret I’m making more supports, please hold.
and yet smilegate keeps releasing more dps classes and ignores these issues in t4. dying game
