I have amd radeon gpu and a month ago i opened picture sharpening mode by mistake. After i entered wt i thought did they update graphics of this game??? Then i realized that i activated picture sharpening. I think the picture sharpening in amd does same thing as your nvidia filter

right click on desktop and select nvidia or amd, idk about nvidia but if u wanna enable sharpening in amd u just press games then select war thunder and do image sharpening@@doomanemegavore3313

I was so confused on why do some youtubers have such good looking Anti-aliasing while mine is just a blurry mess, so this was very helpful. Thanks man :)
Also, don't use render scaling at all, like it destroyed my FPS and it looked awful

@@Eggmanjamesyou mean upscaling? I’m using DLSS at 1440p maxed out settings with a 2080ti. Without DLSS it would hover around 60 fps and I experienced a lot of screen tearing. With DLSS (on quality) I’m now getting 200+ fps most of the time which completely fixes the screen tearing. A welcome surprise was that it also looked a million times better (than when using TAA). This is because - like often in games - the standard TAA implementation is absolutely horrendous. I had to use SSAA 4X to get a good looking image (which also completely wracked my FPS). DLSS however overwrites the default AA and uses its own which looks way better than TAA. Even as good as SSAA 4X I’d dare to say.
Of course DLSS however is only available on RTX cards :(
Edit: for anyone wondering. I’m using a 60Hz 24” 1440p monitor.

now there is a thing called dynamic lutt and it brighten everything so check that when nvidia isn't doing much and since its feature of game that is enable by default it darkens everything like nvidia does without fps loss

Honestly thank you so much. I always new somthing looked off compared on console. Idk why war thunder doesn’t have a sharpness option. Maybe they do but I haven’t noticed

I have no idea how I have just found out about this, but I am glad I did regardless! I changed to Reinhard and applied those Nvidia filters and now the game looks way better while still not looking off the mark. Nice video!
EDIT: Nevermind, I can't use it. I keep getting errors and the filters constantly revert back, and the textures switch to Medium, forcing me to restart every few minutes. I guess RTX 3060 isn't enough for this :/
It's all good, when you tab out it will do this, change to full screen borderless
@@Eggmanjames Oh, I see! Now that you mentioned it, it did indeed happen every time I tabbed. I already changed from "fullscreen" to "fullscreen window" and the issue is no more! The game also alt-tabs way quicker and better, so double win, hahah. Thank you for your quick response and solution! I've lost an average of 25 FPS (from 144 to 119ish), but, honestly? Worth it!
For some reason everytime I use NVIDIA filters, after a few minutes my game will say "Video card has hang" or something like that and set my textures to medium
Yeah, so that's either because you've tabbed out or your GPU is being overloaded

@@Plane-Enthusiastsorry for late reply, you can go borderlese windowed, however that will make your game look awful. Just don't tab out if you can.

I usually disable anti aliasing completely because without everything just looks so much sharper.
Anti anliasing will make it sharper.
@@Eggmanjames AA tries to remove artifacts like the staircase effect by reducing contrast around edges. That makes the image smoother but also less detailed and fuzzy. Its not as noticeable at higher resolutions.
It seems like the PostFX settings have been changed since this video was made. Some of the options have been removed and are no longer available, such as being able to change tone mapping to different profiles.
Damn, I will make a video hopefully soon. Life is hard rn, but I'll push through 💪💪💪 (Helldivers has me)
the mapping in different profiles is still an option, you just have to change the top dropdown menu that is there by default, this will open up these other settings.

DLSS Quality is the best
TAA is good, however DLSS quality is probably the way to go, way better FPS for a not noticeable difference
How do I enable the NVIDIA fiter? Because for some reason, I cant even launch the NVIDIA control pannel

So I tried all of these for nvidia and I relaunched to realize my game sounds all kinds of fucked up in the sense that it is sounding more distant any ideas?
Did you get the correct driver? And did is switch your audio device?
@@Eggmanjames I got the newest driver and I installed the sharpen+ and unticked the audio driver like someone on reddit said. i didnt switch my audio device I checked
How the hell are you playing at 3840 x 2160 with a 1660S? My 3080Ti struggles to do 3440x1440 with SSAA(have to do 2x or 3x because 4x is unplayable)
If you have SSAA on then you're effectively halfing your FPS.
Render scaling is also decent
@@Eggmanjames The problem is, Gaijin removed all forms of anti-aliasing that don't blur the background. HQ TAA used to work fine, but now there's only TAA which makes distant enemies appear as indistinct blotches against the background(and makes me feel like I've got something in my eyes preventing focus), and FXAA which does less of the same but leaves ugly jagged edges. Both suck for a game about visually identifying stuff at long distances. For some time I actually played without any antialiasing entirely, but couldn't stand it long-term so took the compromise with supersampling.
10 fps is alot when you only have 15 fps

they removed the support for nvidia filter because it allowed you to see through smokes

You know losing 10 FPS is a pretty big deal when you are only have 10 FPS
You probably wanna be looking at boosting your FPS for 10, I'd say that's unplayable

I got a Nvidia GTX 1650 laptop gpu, and AMD Ryzen 5 3550H at 1080p 60hz, I'm pretty sure my setup is worse then yours, especially if it was my old laptop
So yours will run everything on max at 1080p.
1650 is what one of my friend has, try to aim for 65fps in ground rb
@@Eggmanjames my settings are cranked mostly down so it's 100 fps but I play air rb only usually
Make sure you've got 16gb of ram, if you don't you'll loose about 30-50 fps
Even then id reccomend having a minimum of 24

@Nebulachadlazzar ok, so playing war thunder on 4k is rlly bad, you can't play it on native resolution, as it will destroy the FPS and the render resolution doesn't work.
Change it to 1440p and it will sort of fix it

I'd recommend a 1440p monitor, no more, no less for everyone, they run really well for gaming.
Also, make sure you've got render scaling off
