I remember seeing this as a little kid. It left an impression on me. I didn't know a ting about Taxi Driver or Raging Bull, but I ended up curious to find out more and I was not disappointed. Strange as it may be, but I have Joe Piscopo to thank for that.
A Piscopo skit was always a production. Never off the cuff. He is an entertainer - something non-existent these days. Easily the most underrated of all the SNL alumnus. I always thought he had heart. His Sinatra is second to none.
Joe Piscopo's Halloween Party, it was a 1987 HBO comedy special taped live at UCLA, it also featured a talent contest among various students, Joe also did a few filmed comedy bits like this one.
If you pay attention in Taxi Driver, he actually did not get the mohawk until after the "you talkin' to me" scene. I saw and old SPIN magazine that made the same mistake.
This is funny as hell, was he supposed to inject jokes and make it so different from the original scene? Just seeing joes face doin the deniro impersonation is hilarious enough . Piscopo owns here.
I always liked Joe Piscopo he does the BEST impression of Frank Sinatria I've ever heard, better than those SERIOUS guys like Harry Conick Jr. and Micheal Buble......they suck.......but Joe, he is brilliant..........yet THIS impression of RD doing JL was absoultely phenomenal.........what ever happend to JP?????????
Despite appearing like a good dude, i have to agree, hes a glorified name dropper who plays on the fame of well known actors and musicians. Lowest common denominator entertainment. Not necessarily bad, just schmaltzy. And self aggrandizing.
This video really show his talent...very well done...I did not laugh...as I was touched by his capture of the part he was playing....I like the guy....wouldn't mind having a beer with him in a bar upstate some day....................

This is classic! Great halloween special. Wish i could get this on DVD
As a lover of film and how good DeNiro was in all of these roles, this is still one of the funniest things I have ever seen
This is really some good comedy. I even used the "I heard some things" line on someone before. It was hilarious.

HIS PODCAST IS PRETTY GOOD.. N THAT INTERVIEW HE DID ON TUCKER..HE IS THE BEST
he started lifting weights and his testosterone took over his talent - still a great drummer tho
Good morning good morning duuuuuh good morning
With the mohawk, he looks like Matt Leblanc.
How did this talent become so passe so quickly!

Epic. I watched SNL since it's very first year. Joe Piscopo, IMHO, is still one of its most talented cast members.
Where is the trick or treating skit?????!!!!
is this a documentary
I heard some things...
@RyderDavis Oh yeah? Let's hear yours, Roger Ebert......
Back when snl was great
This video really show his talent...very well done...I did not laugh...as I was touched by his capture of the part he was playing....I like the guy....wouldn't mind having a beer with him in a bar upstate some day....................
Joe could always come close with the look but NEVER the sound!
Deniro who?
Robert. Robert Deniro.
Stop already. Nothing Joe Piscopo ever did was special.
Is this supposed to be funny, or what?
It is hillary
yes
joe hasn't been funny since 1983
Terrible
Terrible De Niro impression.
He wasn't funny then either.
Powerfully unfunny.
