The radiomaster boxer, specially after adding the AG01, is an excellent radio, and I found one modification that can make it even better for some cases.
In this video I explain what the modification is, how did I get to it, how to install it and its effect.
The 3D printed model can be downloaded from Nordfpv profile on printables.com
www.printables.com/@Nordfpv/m...
www.printables.com/model/6382...
And we will sell a kit with the 3D printed part and the antenna for those interested

That's a really neat idea. Wish the boxer had a folding antenna like the tbs tango as well as a proper kickstand. Other than that, its perfect
The boxer max has a proper kickstand. I’m expecting radiomaster to offer this as spare. They don’t have it yet, but many will buy it if they offer it.
There is one thing why antennas usually stand from the rest electrical equipment and that is radio interference from electrical circuits. This mod might decrease the failsafe and reception range by 10-15%
Possible, and it will make sense. Still I have done some initial tests with no noticeable lost of range. But to be honest, my tests are not super scientific. I have done a kind of a dry test, just leaving a drone in my bench and going out with the radio before and after the mod having the internal module set at 25mW. This gives me a failsafe at exactly the same point. The other test is while flying my drone in a place I know from experience where I had problems before. The video range is still the one making me turn back, not the ELRS.
Cool mod. I think that Boxer is awesome and I may buy one but right now I'm loving the RadioMaster Pocket. I fold down the antenna, put the gimbal sticks around back and toss it in my gear bag. Easy peasy George & Weezy.
Very cool
Why not just use the case that came with it to keep it protected? Only takes up a little more room in the bag.
It’s a valid option. I just find that original antenna annoying. And this mod has worked wonderfully for me since I did it. I’m very happy with it.
This is what I did with my boxer but I kept the oem antenna on mine and cut a hole in the back.
I think I saw something like this in UA-cam, but in that video the ext module bay was used to keep the RP-SMA adapter. I wanted to have the bay available for my crossfire module.
@NordFPV I figured that is what's best to do if I were to get a jr module I would get rid of the sma as well. In that case I could use a few different t shapes and find a 3d file to make a nicer holder. Mines hot glued in a way that it forms a plug but not bonding the two halves.
😂👍nice video!
Glad you enjoyed Jose
Nice!.
What carrybag are you using there?
Thanks. The bag is a lowepro FPV bag, the medium size. I don’t think they sell anymore though.
Hi, how can I purchase a 3D printed kit for this mod?
Brent. USA
Thanks
Brent. Send me an email at info @ Nordfpv. Com and I’ll see what I can do.
Where did you get that custom lanyard?
I sell it in my shop www.nordfpv.com
Wicked good explained video mate. Keep well
Thanks 👍
Great idea im goingto need something like that . Thank you for this video.😊
Cool! Let us know how it goes for you.
i think i will do the same ... i like your idea❤
Great. Just be careful with the antenna connnector and if you can leave a like in printables when you download the part it will be very appreciated.
Привет! Подскажи пожалуйста название рюкзака 😊 или если есть ссылка где купить
The bag is a lowepro medium FPV bag. It’s quite old and I don’t think they sell it anymore
the newer ones have removable antennae
I think they have always had removable antennas, the problem is the shape of the antenna. There’s a mod going around to use the pocket antenna. It looks pretty nice too!
@@NordFPV thanks for clarifying that 🙏
What bag are you using?
QuadGuard BP X1. It’s an old bag, I don’t think they produce it anymore. Small, but works perfectly for what I used it.
@@NordFPV I like the looks of it. The one I have is big and is hard on my back. I'll keep looking. Thank you.
@@neilfpv cool. I like this very much, adn I don't think I need anything beyond what this offers. It's a shame they don't produce it anymore, but I'm sure someone should have some stock with it somewhere if you look.
Except that you cant use Moxon and then switch back to Omni.
That's true. I may look into doing a different mod where I leave the ufl to RP-SMA adapter in place and just modify the antenna angle and placement. I will see...
@@NordFPV I thought about that but wastn sure it was possible. Thanks for the video!
