I'm weird AF because this is one of my favorite channels 😂
Appreciate it, man! :)
Mine too, guess we both weird AF.😂 Great job Limon.
Me 3…… love it
Me 4. And I'm not even a racer! I'm a freestyle pilot, a shit one at that. Still love this channel!
@@William_NS thanks for the support dude!
Ivan, I am weird as fжck.
Ivan, damn glad to meet and hang out with you at IO! Hopefully I won't go breaking my ankle again next year, haha!
Love your content. You've got some valid points here. I totally agree on the screen and battery life.
Thanks man!
Ivan, it is you who are the weird one =D
Nice vid
nooo, people using separate cases for radio are mooar weird )
Excellent points made in this video. I was using the top left button for arm. Terrible idea. I use it as a prearm now.
Nice job! Finally a real review. 🎉
I love the 2 pos button for exactly the Arm/Disarm use, I can arm or rearm faster and more confidently with button, started with TangoII, then T-Pro, now I have Zorro and still learning to re-arm with flip switch again
I have a TBS Tango II pro wherein I am in the habit of arming/Disarming with the two position push button .Recently shifted to Boxer ,the form factor is really great 👍 as discussed "wierdly"😂 by you .
You are a great reviewer and I love your video on the GPS rescue on BF 4.4 which has helped me a lot.I view that video many times just to laugh out 😊😅😅😅.
Great work 👏.
I was thinking about Tango2 button, cuz it's like a switch, that could be best of both worlds, but never tried it. Thanks man!
I do the same thing on tango2 for arm/disarm, inverted switch, push in to disarm, button is tactical flashlight style it engages before it latches in so you can get it every time even while wearing thick gloves in colder weather, you have to be more careful to unlatch the switch out which is best for arming as it will not arm until it clears the latch.
Must let the switch travel fully out to arm. I also have it hardwired mentally to raise the throttle after disarming (before picking up your quad), even if you have a pre-arm its just good practice as additional layer of arm prevention. EDIT: if you do this ensure your armed signal is still high/max on the channel over the air, some protocols such as expresslrs relies on that expectation.
Красавчик, прекрасная подача, непонятно как набрел на твой канал, привет от Канадского фпв комьюнити!
Спасибо! Привет Канаде :)
very nice editing, entertaining video, thanks
Glad you enjoyed, Sir!
I find that the radio case is great for whoop batteries, goggle cable, a few spare props, prop tool, SD cards, etc. Also never have to worry about hanging up my radio or accidentally turning it on.
I love this review! :D
Hi! I am Lemon, and you gonna learn something today BUT WITH A SMILE! :) Well done bro!
Thanks man! :)
I completely agree with you, and arm/disarm with the same switch that you do
Momentary shoulder button for pre-arm, latching shoulder for buzzer :-) also I’m Feird as Wuck. Love the nightspot outros ❤
Yeah, I need the flip switch for sure for arming and disarming. It’s why I sold the tango and didn’t bother with the mambo. Don’t know what made me think the boxer would be different, but I bought it and it’s not so now it’s in the box it came in and I still use my X9D. Never thought to move one of the switches to the top like you did though which is an awesome idea! I’m inspired! Ty
Thank man. That was quite easy really to move.
Your the best Limon . I’m weird AF 😂😂🙌
I really like using the top right button on the Tango 2 as arm. Too bad the top right button on Boxer is momentary and also much longer travel. 100% agree with you on the power switch. I wish someone made a gimbal with out a notch in the center. Similar to my high end flight sim sticks from Virpil. Just a smooth soft center.
I appreciate your violent friend, as well. Looks like I'm in the right place 😊
great content man❤
just so happy watching your review. I dont know why hahahah so cool
This is awesome 😅
I switched to the boxer earlier this year after flying Spektrum since 2015! I am currently using the latching push button for arming/disarming, but I ordered a spare boxer shell and button kit and I plan on designing and printing a conversion plate that will replace the button with a 2-position switch.
Apparently I'm also weird, because I do keep my radio in its case with the gimble protector :)
Lol! The internals of the button is pretty huge and hard mounted on the motherboard... So completely removing it would take more work. But probably doable....
Make sure you share the design if you do! Limon is right though the switch is soldered to the main board SOLIDLY so it is not trivial to remove like a switch normally is, but would love to see a replacement.
I've also been a Spektrum user for years... Just re-entered the hobby and found ELRS and RadioMaster. Received my Boxer and ag01 gimbals... I'm looking at my DX18 with disgust...
Wow - it has a hook fir the neck strap - insane! 🤪
Ivan. I'm 100% weird AF. Great review 💯👌
I'm weird, and I like your weird content. I really like my boxer, your arm switch change is very interesting.
Thank man!
i feel like I can learn a lot of life lessons from Sweaty Box Man
🤣😂 lmfao I absolutely love your humor. Every video is amazingly hilarious. So good 👍
Couldn't agree more, once learned habbits tend to stick for a long time. But as a pincher I have my arm/disarm on the switch above the gimble.
Yes sir, that's the way!
My guys ,, awesome stuff fellows , keep at it 💯😎, very good tips 💪🏾✅
💯💪
Смешной ты мужик, спасибо за труды!
The SA switch is very convenient for disarming for pinchers and hybrid pinchers
Haha, thanks for the good laugh Ivan. But couldn't agree more, push button arm/disarm toggles are just a bad idea. I get that they wanted to make it hard to accidentally arm (which I've done few times on my good ole X9D+ and even cut my fingers up once) , but it is also important for disarming to be also be easy. Back when I was learning to fly I botched the disarm on a few landings next to myself and nearly shat myself when airmode tried to over compensate for the quad being restricted by the ground. Nothing worse than obseving yourself being attacked by a rogue quad from the perspective of said quad 😂
100% man! Glad you had good time watching! :)
When I saw the boxer release I can't explain how fast I ordered one. I have been flying it for 4 months and it became my daily the minute I got it to the point I can't hold my TX16S anymore. I also use the button press for arming even at mayhem amd had no issues....
Love it too man. But disarming is still slower than switch )
Radiomaster pocket will disarm mid flight regularly.
The buttons actuate after a couple mm and they take no force to actuate, they flutter on and off in sims when you just brush against them. That same behavior will disarm the drone.
When i use the RM Pocket my drones arm with the scroll wheel.
thats weird, glad my Boxer doesnt have this problem
I solved the problem of the internal antenna by removing the SMA panel mount and installing a basic Happymodel RX antenna flush with the outside of the case. Held in place with a TPU plug. It gives me un-attenuated signal from the top of my radio while still being able to chuck it in a bag.
I prop will do the same when switch to elrs!
A long while back I got a Tango 2 which has similar trigger position switches. But I actually find it to be better and I even moved to using my right finger instead of my left. Since then I find that I have much more precision disarming like I able to disarm right as I touch the ground lightly in this way. So after getting use to it I have to say, no... in my opinion one you get use to it it's actually better and maybe consider setting it up for your right trigger finger.
Radiomaster tx16s carbon markII Max 4in1 all the way. I am weird led gimbal leds coming up. I am also a fan of the push button power switches. Calms my ocd knowing i have to hold the button to shut it off. Its whatever you like tho:)
Use pre-arm on a momentary switch or button and you'll never have problems with accidental arming again.
At first I didn't agree with you until I received my boxer max and configured all my quads to arm with the button. Now I totally agree. Way too much to do in a panic. I'm arming with the SA switch now. Much faster. By the way I absolutely love this transmitter! Great video bro. I should have listened 😏
Mambo arm switch is the same and I love it.
Dangerous)
What we need is a Shit Pilot Podcast from You and Neil.
We have one :))
Ivan I am weird. Thanks you very much sir
Thank you too! :)
I'AM Weird 😅😅 got TX16s bag , Tx12 bag , Zorro bag and boxer bag - all have AG01 colour gimbals😂😂😂😂😂 Greetings from British Pole 🇵🇱🇬🇧
Hello to Britain!! And all the weirdos in there! 😅
Dual arm with momentary and 2 position, then disarm with momentary. Safe and easy.
Regarding the touchscreen using more power, there is a setting to make it turn off automatically if there's no button/touch input for an adjustable amount of time. I don't remember from the top of my head what it's called but I do have it setup on my TS16X.
Yes I use it to turn off. Still trains power. And can't see if your radio is on even harder
I personally use the top left switch for arming since it's right on the face and I can instantly fling my fingers out to knock the switch away from me without moving my hands, but I'm planning on using the latching button as a pre-arm I've just been lazy and haven't set it up
Yes sir that's the way :)
I use the top left switch to arm and the momentary switch on the right shoulder as a pre-arm. That way It takes both hands on the radio to arm the quad. It works great! I'm a mostly hybrid pincher so disarming is as easy as a flick of my left index finger on the SA switch.
I happen to be a weiro who loves that 2 pos flush switch… i fly hybrid pinch and my left ring finger is always resting on it and ive just gotten used to it by now… but Boxer, w ag01? Love it..
Ivan I am weird as fuck and really like your channel. Keep up the good work.
Thanks man! 😅
Hahaha, love this video!
Do I have to use LiPo batteries with this radio?? Or can you charge it in a different way?
Thanks! :)
it also comes with LiIon battery trey!
Switch 5 for pre-arming and 1 for arming. The 1 is advised to be used if you are in ELRS.
Good point.
I find the toggle much more difficult to actuate. More force required. The whole controller moves and quads moves more..
I thumb throttle and leave pointer on shoulder arm switch.
I am defenitlly super wied AF. Loved the video, laughed my ass off
LOL!!! This was hilarious... earned Subscribe
Thank you, Sir! :)
I love my TX12, I know, it looks cheap nut lover the size and battery life.
Ivan, I use the iFlight Commando 8 and mod the antenna to be internal!
THat looks like a great radio!
I remember pulling the tx16s with the radiomaster ranger out of my bag to realise it had turned on and was runnning at 1w elrs. The ranger was very hot. All because the button got pushed and turned on in bag
Yup :/
Hey I have been thinking about purchasing, can you run ghost protocol on the boxer? I have never had a radio with edge tx
Yes sir, that's what I'm running with this radio. Ghost.
@Limon, the solution is pretty simple, no need to install switches, you just need to invert SE channel and that's it. So for disarm you only need to do one move, push it. It's not big deal to do push-release on arming.
I was thinking about it, it's still not as fast as switch. And harder to find a flat button in extreme scenarios
@@IvanEfimovLimon - I am so scared to keep my arming/disarming on switch, just because of the fact that it happened couple of times in the middle of the flight, I've flipped the switch by accident. It's much more difficult to do that accidentally if using that button.
@@Seii-FPV you should shame your finger in publick :))
Dat boink in the outro ..... :)
Is it possible to use TX16S switches on the Boxer?. I see that radiomaster sells switches both for the Boxer and TX16S...so what did you do? Because they only have the TX16S switches locally here in the shop..
Yes I think it's possible. But I just moved the one from the front.
I put my radio in a pelican case and carry the pelican case in my backpack
😵💫
Ivan, I am weird AF 😅
I have Boxer Max with the AG01, and I see that both sticks got slight jitter, values are jumping +\- 4 in average. Is there a way to fix it? Is it “normal”? 🤔 this is a first time In my experience.
Nailed it; less is more. 🍋
I have no clue what to do with that case either... in front of face for ending the video works😂
JonE5 uses it as camera case :) pretty smart
Ivan, I am weird as fuck. I don't have a regular fpv backpack
watahell lol
Hey Limon, I carry a second radio because I’m indecisive and weird as fuck 😂 your the man.
Second radio is smart! Thanks dude!
My X9D with a crossfire module does not turn off when I turn off the slider and it still has a telemetry feed from the the quad. It warns me and waits until I unplug the quad. Same is true when I have an FRSky aircraft with telemetry receiver. So it must be a software slider just like you are asking for.
Oh it probably is!
Been flying the boxer since release and I dont see a problem with the two position switch if anything it feels more accessible but then again im a pincher
It didn’t take too long to come to the same conclusion. I use the front switch instead of that button.
Hello new boxer owner. I'm having trouble loosing connection. Not to far away it vibrates then elrs connection is gone.. you said something about tools..? How should it be set..could this be an issue
how to upgrade or fix the voltage? and what minimum volts or standard can recommend?
If it's a lipo, I set alarm to 3.6v / cell on radio. So 7.2 volts for 2S. It's a setting in hardware menu
@@IvanEfimovLimon great advice appreciate it.
Nice Review 🙂👍
Just waiting for the Boxer Max version because i don't want to buy gimbals separately
How do you know its coming? :)
@@IvanEfimovLimon lol
@@CostaFPVthank man! :)
I know it’s coming 😬
@@Sugar_K yeah, Its coming. Confirmed ✅
My super pretty IRC ghost widgets prevent me from changing, but tbh I like everything about Bouncer *cough boxer!
what you using ghost widgets for?
@@IvanEfimovLimon one shows TX settings, the other VTX settings. So I am limiting chance of twisting my wrist when reversing the radio (to operate the nipple on the ghost) XD
@@SirCrashaLot never thought that's it's a nipple... Now I need Lua scripts too ))
1 luv! same here
I'm using the "T1" trim switch on my TX16s for my arm button. I feel like I can keep my fingers on the sticks and use my thumb to quickly arm or disarm. I don't get the reasoning with having buttons where your fingers rest. Like on the Tango 2 and Mambo, you feel like you're definitely going to accidentally disarm at some point. I think Spektrum got it right with that kill switch on the shoulder. You have to reach for it to press it. I always thought they were ahead of some of the others on ergonomics, not other things though.
I think quick blazing disarming is essential still. If you have to move anything to reach it, it could be already too slow.
@@IvanEfimovLimon What's quick blazing? Like being able to disarm very quickly? I can, and using a trim switch is probably bad practice... but I'm only flying 1-2s sub 100g Quads. That's my justification for it I guess.
I feel like I would use the top switches more if the dress nut was also like a grip, like if it was taller if that makes sense. Maybe just a cylinder shaped standoff. I hybrid pinch, and my middle fingers live on the bottoms of those top switches. I love to replace all of them with two-way switches and somehow make a grip for my middle fingers to rest more securely on. Idk, I'm just really picky about ergonomics.
Love your videos btw! Always fun to watch.
@@Greg__K yeah if it's only small drones, not a big deal. Just thinking that for bigger drones you should be able to disarm as quick as possible, half second extra delay can cost a lost.
Ваня, я тоже из этих, без рюкзака. Прозрачный боксер запал в душу.
Да как так ))
@@IvanEfimovLimon Сам в шоке
I guess I'm weird AF lol when I was using my tango 2 I didn't carry it in a second case
Ivan, I am weird af 😂
Inactivity alarm..... 😂
The UX of the touchless build of ETX is way better. It's much easier to get to model select and it's faster to navigate through the menus. The touchscreen build is slightly better when setting up models from scratch but.... that's not enough.
Agree. And you also setting up models just once.
I i'm weird as fuck haha - I really wish Radiomaster made the antenna to be foldable or came with a 90 degree adapter so that I do not have to constantly remove the antenna everytime I want to transport it.
Зачетные полетухи в конце
I also would like to swap that clickybuttom with a switch because 4 months later I'm still slow disarming with it :'( Battery life is crazy as I just run 25mW for race/practice and it lasts over 20 hours. I cut into the back and replaced the antenna with one on the outside of the empty JR Module bay (flat against it) and it worked amazing until I sat down to race and my massive balls apparently killed the signal-- went back to the external.
Yeah putting that switch wants too hard really.
Damn those massive balls! Frickin signal killers!
I also am weird as fuck.
It's a gift.
каждый раз когда превьюшка проскакивает в ленте думаю " что за Джон Уик там с пультом"
Хаха ))
Ivan, I am weird as fuck. lol case plus the fancy gimbal protector
wtf! ))
I'm weird AF cuz I use the right top switch on my boxer to arm and disarm
Are u getting your hands on the t20?
Probably not ...
Jumper sells an option to switch their crappy T20 push in buttons for a real switch. Wonder if it'll fit the boxer... They look the same
probably won't fit.. The button thing is soldered to the motherboard. Well maybe if you can rip it off...
I've actually lost a long range quad because it disarmed by accident on a 2 pos switch.
did you punish your finger? lol
I am weird af, also i don't have a lot of stuff to pack so it's fits well in my pack. My power light is green now. After i almost messed my radio up but got it flashed last minute it turned green and not blue anymore
11:13 bonk 🔨
Yup lol
I am weird. Im worried switches or antennas would break in my bag. Definitely not a fan of the left push switch. Although i use the right one for the beeper.
Same here!
lol You watch that finger!
Phaha wtf )
whoa so many comments on this one, I guess im weird as fuck too, or at least like to get that way
fr fr i broke that swtich so many times, i just moved arm to a pair of switches as well as kaack disarm/full throttle while disarmed. just keeping it... avg lol
also how is team racing suppose to work for those of us that havent participated in amayhem, ack mayhem event., not i thats for sure ... rn
Dont drop your radio that often ha ))
👍
... and by the way, thanks for the video (Beginner ➡ Advanced: Betaflight 4.4 ultimate walkthrough) and especially for the note to count the magnets because I used aikon aio with blheli_S ESC whit bluejaj and dshot 600, namely 1404 have 12 magnets ...thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm shit pilot
Glad to help man, from a shit pilot to shit pilot )
Ivan, I am weird as fuck. I do agree though, that 2 position switch is the dumbest shit ever and it should have had 2 momentary switches!
