XCOM 2 Collection has an option to spend more time in combat missions and less in the management layer (facility), but it is only available while starting a new run. For me, it improves the experience a lot.
I appreciate that you do solid, matter of fact, comprehensive reviews on fairly obscure topics that not many other people touch. Thanks for the rundown on the DLC, super good to know. Keep this up and you'll pop off in no time.
enjoying it now (War of the Chosen) and I completely agree, the game always manages to surprise. It's like a dream come true for fans of the very first game. About the management option, it has always been there and is part of the identity of XCOM. Without it, everything would be combat and boring in the end. Always loved to manage the ship and soldiers and choose where to install what with all the finances involved. Great game and great video!
Thank you for watching. I understand the management side is a part of the series, but it doesn't make it a good fit. I agree it is essential to have some management parts but I felt the balance was off. Cheers
i just bought xcom 2 collection on the playstation store on sale for $6.99. only played 2 or 3 hours, but i can tell it's definitely worth that cheap of a price. i've played many rpg and strategy games but never really played a game of this type, so it's going to take a bit of time and patience for me to learn everything, but it seems like it will be amazing once i do. one thing i already noticed that seems a bit annoying is how new aliens will spawn and you seemingly have no way of knowing where they will pop up, sometimes popping up right behind you. seems like you get a chance to move to a new position before they attack though, so it may not be too big of a deal.
It is a very hard game and will drive you crazy at times, but the more time you put in the more rewarding it becomes. But be prepared for a tough challenge.
@@PlayGames_PG I've never played an rts before and I like mafia stuff so empire was my first try. Still have to finish it but I did just buy xcom2 collection for $20 so waiting for it to arrive then I'll try it out.
just bought it on the playstation store for $7. never played xcom before but at that price i had to jump on it, and based on the short amount of time i've played so far, i think i'm going to have a lot of fun with it
@@arv7454 i'm liking it a lot. i never played the first one though so i can't say how it compares. people i do know who played both say the first is a little better but they still really like 2. not sure how the first game works but this one keeps an autosave at the start of every mission it seems, so if someone dies you can reload from the start of the mission if you want.
I kind of disagree. I like the management of the base / troops and the combat. The only thing that needs to be improved is to create a campaign story branch and fix bug issue. Overall i give this game 9/10
@@PlayGames_PG Sure, great Video. Do you know a way how to play with Mods? I have the epicgames version, I tried the Vortex ModManager & normal upload into the mods folder, when I start the 2k launcher, it says mods active and which mods, when I start the game, it’s without them. That’s weird. Do I really need to purchase the Steam version, or can you help me somehow? :)
I feel the need to point out that diluting the management portion of the game would cause a significant stagnation to the replay value inherent in this franchise. Although grid combat is excellent across many franchises in gaming it does not have the replayability that xcom has anywhere else. Good vid, tho'
I just bought xcom 2. Should I play with shens gift and alien hunter for the first time? or disable everything the first time and then enable it the second time along with war of the chosen?

This is a choice before starting a campaign?
What? I played XCOM 2 and it's the first time I've heard of that option 🤔

Thanks for the review.. I was on the fence about this game but you made it look so cool.. so I’m getting the game👍

I love everything about this game. Fantastic blend of TBS + management imho. One of the very few games that I keep coming back to over and over again.
Thanks for watching.
I JUST got the full Collection for $6.99 (93% off)
😆😆😆
Boom!
developer is making a marvel game in the same style, with deckbuilding added. should be interesting.
Thanks for watching.
Yupp Marvel Midnight Suns
Empire of sin has gotten me into wanting to try xcom for the first time.
I couldn't get into Empire of Sin, XCOM is tough but ultimately rewarding.

It’s on sale on steam for $7, all dlc included.

I just got it on sell usually $ 100 I got it for $ 10 so fair enough I believe that's a steal.
Good price, enjoy!
For anyone interested it is free on epic games, I downloaded it today, just the base game mind, but better than nothing. Your welcome 🙂
Can't beat a free game, the DLC's are often on sale too.
I currently own XCOM 2 And the RW (Resistance Warrior pack) And seems the XCOM Collection is 4 dollars (14 for me) Should I cope it?
Well, you will get the expansions which add some nice new touches to the campaign, I'd say it is worth it.

Did you say the DLC's don't work with War of the chosen?
Which DLC are you referring to? It has been a while since I played this so will try to help as best I can.
@@PlayGames_PG do any of the cosmetic DLCs work with war of the chosen? The plain gear gets boring
From memory I'm 99% sure they do, War of the Chosen is basically like a remixed main campaign with lots of new elements to consider. Enjoy
Im watching this and I am wonder how Do I beat the avatar project?
With lots of patience. Thanks for watching.
Xcom 2 collection is 4.99 on xbox right now.

ty for the review, very informative. Subbed!
No worries thank you for your time.
Can you play xcom2 without playing the first one?
Yes, I have yet to play the first one and it didn't stop me enjoying it.
catch it on steam for 6.99$ 2/22/2022
Nice!
I love management more than turned based fighting ..
