Thanks for the kind words. I wish there was a smaller round version but there isn't at this time. Most smart watch makers have a hard time cramming all the tech into a smaller round body. I'm a leftie too. Many years ago when I was working construction I wore my watch on my right wrist. When I finished college and worked in white collar I moved the watch to my left wrist. No if someone could tell me how to use a "leftie" scissors my life would be complete.
Yes, it has a speaker and microphone. You can take calls and have a conversation thru the watch even if your phone is in another room. Unfortunately it does NOT have NFC. Amazfit uses QR codes on the watch for contactless payment. The US has adopted credit cards chips for contactless but in China they still use the QR codes alot. If you are able to setup a QR code like with Paypal, Venmo or others then you can display that QR on your watch screen at the store and make contactless payment. Wifi is used for transfering music files to the watch. Is it always on? There is an automatic start on when you choose music files transfer or something else?
As far as I know it only turns the wifi on for large file transfers like music. You connect it to your phone for just that purpose then it switches itself off after and goes back to bluetooth mode. WiFi just helps it transfer the music faster or it would take too long.
Good dang question!! Yes, when you are in the music app on your watch you can click on the small icon in the lower left of the screen and that will allow you to control Pandora or Spotify. You can pause, skip, play, lower and raise volume.
Brother ik im quite late ( very late actually) but it is possible to flip the screen of the watch so the buttons could be facing ur hand instead. Im not sure how but my friend has done this and it is a feature
Thanks for commenting. Yes it is possible. With your watch on, swipe down from the top of the screen. You should see a sub menu with icons. You are looking for the icon of a little gear. Click on that. Another sub menu comes up. Scroll down to preferences. It should be indicated with a Heart. Then another menu comes up. Scroll down to Wearing direction. Good afternoon, first i'd like do congratulate you on this amazing review and personal opinion, many other videos just show us specs and settings (pretty useless). I do have 1 question tho, the difference between the GTR 3 and GTR 3 Pro is that the Pro has internal storage and a mic. My question is, that extra memory is only to store music? Can anything else be stored? For example, in the store there are watchfaces available, can i download hundreds of them and store them in the memory? Or anything that is in atore i have to download and install the watch faces through my phone every time, disregarding the watchfaces that are already preinstalled. Awaiting for your responde with much anticipation since i'm hesitant between the these 2.
Thanks for the awesome comment and question. As far as I know the extra storage is mostly for music. I have about 40 songs now. The watch faces don't seem to use much memory. I have about 15 watch faces in addition to the ones already pre loaded. The watch faces I added are all animation types that use more memory and battery. I also have 8 Zepp Games like asteroid, word jumble, simon says and so on. In addition to the games I've added about 6 other apps like a maps for cycling app, a text message app, calculator and so on. All these apps and watch faces have not caused the watch to bog down or slow down in any way. I haven't delved in to try and find how much memory I have left mainly because there aren't that many Apps and watch faces I really want to download. The Zepp selection of apps is pretty limited. @etshArk87 for the GTR3 Pro that I have you can see all your previously downloaded watch faces on the watch. No need to go back into the phone for a previously downloaded face. The maps app I got is slightly better than a Tom Tom from the 90s so don't bother. They have nothing close to Google maps. Another thing to keep in mind is the GTR 4 is on sale and it has better GPS. It should be cheaper than the GTR3 Pro right now.
Good question. They are both the same internally. But their bodies are different. The GTR 3 Pro Limited is made of Polished Stainless steel and weighs about 8 grams more. Its also a little bit thicker than the regular GTR 3 Pro. The straps are also slightly different. But all the tech inside both watches is the same. Hope that helps. Thanks for commenting.
It can do both. Audible alarm or just vibrate. But you have to have the watch volume on for it to work. So you can't have texts and calls on vibrate only and still have the alarm on audible. That really depends on your needs. The need I had was battery life. I travel for work and wanted a watch that last many days so I picked the Amazfit. Below are some points for both watches. 1. Amazfit can go over 12 days with all metrics on. The Galaxy 4 watch can only go 40 hrs. 2. The Galaxy 4 watch has 16GB of space and the Amazfit only has 4GB. 3. The Amazfit is 20g lighter than the Galaxy . 4. Amazfit has better resolution 480X480 pixels 5. Galaxy watch has ECG technology. Amazfit only has Heartrate 6. Galaxy has NFC so you can pay at stores with your watch 7. Amazfit has built in temperature sensor 8. Amazfit it compatible with iPhone should you ever switch from Android. I hope that helps you. Hey Shivam. I think your better option would be the GTR 4 because of the upgrades on the screen, GPS and battery life. As for the metrics...GTR 3 has temperature monitor and its pretty acurate if you take the watch off your wrist and check the temp after 5 minutes. For Blood Presure it has a sleep monitor, heart rate monitor and blood Oxygen monitor and it uses the data from all three to create a type of blood pressure monitor but it does not have a TRUE built in blood pressure monitor. They were supposed to release the feature in China early 2022 but not sure if that happened. The best blood pressure monitor watch I know of is the Omron Blood Pressure watch. Its a bit pricey but it has an actual inflatable cuff built in to measure your blood pressure. Here's a link for it. amzn.to/3qQ8Til For the last question of barometer...yes it is pretty decent. I have compared it to google barometer for my area and its almost spot on. Currently google has my barometric pressure as 30.04 inHg and my GTR3 pro has it at 30.18. Unfortunately it really doesn't. I forgot to mention that. You can access your music player and answer incoming calls. But checking weather, calendars and other things can't be done as far as I can see while a workout is active. You'd have to stop the workout to get to all the other functions.
Holy crap I forgot about that. You can definitely lock the screen to avoid the craziness. You just have to actively remember to do so. I just never had that issue with my Garmin Vivoactive 3.
I agree. I haven't bought the GTR4 because of that reason. You get a slightly larger screen, slightly better battery and slightly better GPS. Ehh...OK. But what about SLIGHTLY improving the terrible ZEPP app. LOL! Right now the newest thing from Amazfit that could be a little better is the Falcon. Amazfit claims its able to withstand up to 50 meters of water pressure. But I DO NOT recommend taking it any deeper than a swimming pool. As for Waterproof, that would mean it can withstand a depth for a prolonged period of time. I do not believe this watch is truly waterproof. I wouldn't try to hold it underwater for an hour. I feel like the seals would leak by then. Hope that helps.

Very good question. Yes, you can make a call with the bluetooth. Meaning that your phone can be about 30 feet away and still use the watch to make a call and talk thru the watch to the person you're calling. And its not just saved contacts, you can actually use the dial pad on the watch to dial a new number. I don't know if it will work with WhatApp. I can't get it to make a call with my Zoom account.
You can change the watch face. There are many different options for date on the different watch faces. I use one that shows Month, Date, Year. There are some that have only day and month. Just hold your finger down on the middle of the watch face for 3 seconds and you should see a sub menu with more watch face options. You can slide left or right to select them.

I thought I answered your question about calling with the video but I guess not. Sorry. If your earbuds are connected directly to your phone and you answer a call with your watch then the sound will audio will come out on your watch. You can transfer from your watch to the phone. If you have an android like me you can transfer the audio from your phone back to your watch also. You have to use your phone to transfer the audio back to your watch. It does have battery saving mode also. It can last up to 30 days. You don't need to go into time only display either. You can actually use the watch like normal and still get over 20 days of use.

I ordered the watch like 3 days ago but when I tried calls functionality I only have two button options : hang up or ignore. Is it normal that I don't have the answer button displayed on the watch screen when I receive a call ?. Did you go into Phone settings in the Zepp app and turn on the Bluetooth answer call feature? That's how I was able to start answering calls. As for sleep stats you have to turn the Sleep monitoring to ON. You also have to give it about 3 to 5 days of sleep monitoring before it really starts to work well. Hope this helps
It is compatible with iOS devices but if I was you I would go to the AppStore and look up the Zepp app and read some of the reviews to make sure other folks have had good experience with it. Its not the watch that would give you issues...its the Zepp app. You should be able to read and respond to messages from your iPhone. But stock text replies are built into the watch whereas custom text replies have to be setup in the Zepp app and then downloaded to your iPhone. Hope this helps.
I would pick the New TRex2 over the TRex Pro. The Amoled Screen is bigger and better resolution, the GPS is upgraded, the battery is better. If you want a smartwatch that looks nice at the office then I would go for the GTR4. It has better GPS, Battery and screen than the GTR3. I hope that helps. Sorry I took so long to answer you Roderick. I've been traveling. Yes as Marufio said you can reject calls with SMS. In fact you can go into the Zepp app and create a custom message that you might want to use for specific people like family.
I wish I knew what that was about but the only thing I can think of is both the watch and the phone mics are active at the same time. I think you might want to try and delete the watch from your phone bluetooth and then reconnect. Hopefully that works.

Really good question. The GTR4 is slightly better in things like GPS, screen size and battery. But also a bit more expensive. The GTR3 Pro is almost perfect in my opinion but now that the 4 is coming down in price it's a tough decision. I'd probably go with the 4 if you can get it for about $175 or less.
Thats because it uses Bluetooth Only. I cannot find an option for the watch to connect to a WIFI signal. There is no sub menu or setting that says WIFI.
The phone and messaging abilities of the watch itself are compatible with iOS but I would double check the Zepp app reviews on the AppStore to make sure people are not having issues with the app compatibility. If the app has any problems it can cause the watch to not function properly.
I have had an amazfit gtr 3 pro for just over two years and the touch screen no longer works. Check reviews online as this a common fault. I would not buy again
Yeah, I know....I'm rough with the watch. But I did find out that it actually doesn't glitch in the water. I just needed to use the lock function. The watch is actual fine in water. LOL...Yes. I agree with you on that point. At first it said POOR sleep and I really felt that way in the morning. Then I made adjustments to my sleep habits and I felt much better in the morning but my watch still said it was POOR. Now Amazfit is selling access to SLEEP SOUNDS tailored to you on their Zepp app. Hmmm....seems fishy.

@@frgjb Interesting. May I suggest setting all the health monitors to update every minute or 5 minutes. Try it for just a couple of days. It drains the battery faster but you might get some better reporting. Of course don't forget to swith back to preserve battery life. If you have already tried this than please ignore me.
You are right. I mispoke. It just has tempered glass coated with Anti Fingerprint coating. Its pretty tough but definitely not as strong as gorilla glass.

with regards to screen bouncing around during bath and rainy season...for me i usually locked the screen to get rid of problem.

I think the build quality is right on par with galaxy and Apple. The good news is you can purchase one from Amazon and return it if you don't like it.

I'm considering what to buy and am conflicted between gtr 3 pro and 4.
also how good/ useful is the barometer?
Hey Shivam. I think your better option would be the GTR 4 because of the upgrades on the screen, GPS and battery life. As for the metrics...GTR 3 has temperature monitor and its pretty acurate if you take the watch off your wrist and check the temp after 5 minutes.
For Blood Presure it has a sleep monitor, heart rate monitor and blood Oxygen monitor and it uses the data from all three to create a type of blood pressure monitor but it does not have a TRUE built in blood pressure monitor. They were supposed to release the feature in China early 2022 but not sure if that happened. The best blood pressure monitor watch I know of is the Omron Blood Pressure watch. Its a bit pricey but it has an actual inflatable cuff built in to measure your blood pressure. Here's a link for it. amzn.to/3qQ8Til
For the last question of barometer...yes it is pretty decent. I have compared it to google barometer for my area and its almost spot on. Currently google has my barometric pressure as 30.04 inHg and my GTR3 pro has it at 30.18. Thanks for your question and sorry for the long answer but its alot of info.

Like normally I wear earbuds, so when someone calls me and if I answer the call from my watch, so will the audio from the person calling me will come through the earbuds or the watch? And during an ongoing call do we have an option to change the audio from watch to phone and vice-versa, from the watch itself, or will i have to pull out my phone from the pocket to do so?
And also let me know, is there a feature of battery saving mode and time only mode?

Hey Mohammed....I show how the phone calls are answered and how it works with bluetooth at the 4:58 mark of this video you commented on. Hope you find it. As for the battery, if you swipe down from the main screen and click on battery you will see a battery save mode. Thanks

Does this watch have multitask feature in the sport mode?
Unfortunately it really doesn't. I forgot to mention that. You can access your music player and answer incoming calls. But checking weather, calendars and other things can't be done as far as I can see while a workout is active. You'd have to stop the workout to get to all the other functions.

Holy crap I forgot about that. You can definitely lock the screen to avoid the craziness. You just have to actively remember to do so. I just never had that issue with my Garmin Vivoactive 3.

I agree. I haven't bought the GTR4 because of that reason. You get a slightly larger screen, slightly better battery and slightly better GPS. Ehh...OK. But what about SLIGHTLY improving the terrible ZEPP app. LOL! Right now the newest thing from Amazfit that could be a little better is the Falcon. Yes, you can use their built in messages on the watch to reply or you can go into the Zepp app on your phone and create a custom message that will load up onto your watch. You can create quite a few custom messages. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven't already.

Is it water resist or proof?
Amazfit claims its able to withstand up to 50 meters of water pressure. But I DO NOT recommend taking it any deeper than a swimming pool. As for Waterproof, that would mean it can withstand a depth for a prolonged period of time. I do not believe this watch is truly waterproof. I wouldn't try to hold it underwater for an hour. I feel like the seals would leak by then. Hope that helps.

Very good question. Yes, you can make a call with the bluetooth. Meaning that your phone can be about 30 feet away and still use the watch to make a call and talk thru the watch to the person you're calling. And its not just saved contacts, you can actually use the dial pad on the watch to dial a new number. I don't know if it will work with WhatApp. I can't get it to make a call with my Zoom account.
How do you change how date is displayed on a watch face. I'm in USA and date appears like I am overseas.
You can change the watch face. There are many different options for date on the different watch faces. I use one that shows Month, Date, Year. There are some that have only day and month. Just hold your finger down on the middle of the watch face for 3 seconds and you should see a sub menu with more watch face options. You can slide left or right to select them.

I thought I answered your question about calling with the video but I guess not. Sorry. If your earbuds are connected directly to your phone and you answer a call with your watch then the sound will audio will come out on your watch. You can transfer from your watch to the phone. If you have an android like me you can transfer the audio from your phone back to your watch also. You have to use your phone to transfer the audio back to your watch. It does have battery saving mode also. It can last up to 30 days. You don't need to go into time only display either. You can actually use the watch like normal and still get over 20 days of use.

IF the calls are picked up on the headset while connected to the watch, it's a win-win to me, even if you can transfer the call i'd always use it with headphone-watch pairing
Yeah, I like that you could still pickup the call with the headset. Thats usually what I do most of the time. Especially if I don't wanna look like a weirdo talking into my wrist when walking around the grocery store. LOL
I ordered the watch like 3 days ago but when I tried calls functionality I only have two button options : hang up or ignore. Is it normal that I don't have the answer button displayed on the watch screen when I receive a call ?. And also in the Zepp app, I don't get any sleep statistics knowing that the watch is connected to my phone and synchronized ? Thank you for the video, your review is amazing
Did you go into Phone settings in the Zepp app and turn on the Bluetooth answer call feature? That's how I was able to start answering calls. As for sleep stats you have to turn the Sleep monitoring to ON. You also have to give it about 3 to 5 days of sleep monitoring before it really starts to work well. Hope this helps
Does the watch work with iphone? Can I see and respond to text messages?
It is compatible with iOS devices but if I was you I would go to the AppStore and look up the Zepp app and read some of the reviews to make sure other folks have had good experience with it. Its not the watch that would give you issues...its the Zepp app. You should be able to read and respond to messages from your iPhone. But stock text replies are built into the watch whereas custom text replies have to be setup in the Zepp app and then downloaded to your iPhone. Hope this helps.
how long battery last with all features on
With all notifications on, full brightness, GPS, Screen on and everything else on all the way....the battery would die in about 3 - 5 days.

Yes, the music will play on the built in watch speaker.

If you have an Android phone and Spotify Premium you can download songs. It stores them in a weird spot though.
You have lock screen shortcut...so you dont get nervous when gets wet ...lock the screen and you are done

I would pick the New TRex2 over the TRex Pro. The Amoled Screen is bigger and better resolution, the GPS is upgraded, the battery is better. If you want a smartwatch that looks nice at the office then I would go for the GTR4. It has better GPS, Battery and screen than the GTR3. I hope that helps. Hey Roland. When my wife calls me and I answer with the watch. She hears a major echo of her voice giving feedback. Have you heard of this?
I wish I knew what that was about but the only thing I can think of is both the watch and the phone mics are active at the same time. I think you might want to try and delete the watch from your phone bluetooth and then reconnect. Hopefully that works.
I did do that. On my phone it is reading 2 bluetooth connections GTR PRO and GTR PRO- F166 . I this what yours does?

Really good question. The GTR4 is slightly better in things like GPS, screen size and battery. But also a bit more expensive. The GTR3 Pro is almost perfect in my opinion but now that the 4 is coming down in price it's a tough decision. I'd probably go with the 4 if you can get it for about $175 or less.

Thats because it uses Bluetooth Only. I cannot find an option for the watch to connect to a WIFI signal. There is no sub menu or setting that says WIFI.
It only connects to wifi when adding music.
Do you know if the call/messaging works with iOS?
The phone and messaging abilities of the watch itself are compatible with iOS but I would double check the Zepp app reviews on the AppStore to make sure people are not having issues with the app compatibility. If the app has any problems it can cause the watch to not function properly.
I have had an amazfit gtr 3 pro for just over two years and the touch screen no longer works. Check reviews online as this a common fault. I would not buy again

Yeah, I know....I'm rough with the watch. But I did find out that it actually doesn't glitch in the water. I just needed to use the lock function. The watch is actual fine in water. Not crazy about the sleep monitoring function. I have lost confidence in its accuracy.
LOL...Yes. I agree with you on that point. At first it said POOR sleep and I really felt that way in the morning. Then I made adjustments to my sleep habits and I felt much better in the morning but my watch still said it was POOR. Now Amazfit is selling access to SLEEP SOUNDS tailored to you on their Zepp app. Hmmm....seems fishy.
@@RolandDigsIt I get very high sleep scores when I am awake half the night. Whatever they're using as an algorithm is not providing accurate results, at least in my case.
@@frgjb Interesting. May I suggest setting all the health monitors to update every minute or 5 minutes. Try it for just a couple of days. It drains the battery faster but you might get some better reporting. Of course don't forget to swith back to preserve battery life. If you have already tried this than please ignore me.
You forgot to tell people that the ghr 3 Pro speaker is very low you can only hear it in a completely silent room
Yeah, the speaker is not great. But it's definitely usable for those quiet rooms or offices.

You are right. I mispoke. It just has tempered glass coated with Anti Fingerprint coating. Its pretty tough but definitely not as strong as gorilla glass.

The only thing that keeps me away from buying it yet: the price and size... 417 Euros and 46mm.... I have by no means smalls wrists but man... 46mm is quite large.
