- In the last episode we got a great start by installing a 14 bolt axle and lifting the rear end! Now we’re finally going to install a Dana 60 and lift the front end to match!

Nothing better than working right in your driveway better than any shop around!!
This was a fun build. Hope all is well, maybe see you back in here in the future.
I just binged your uploads on this sweet build. Hope we see more from you chuck 🫡🦾
While doing research on cummins swapping my custom 82 swb dually on 22s, I came across your channel and was instantly hooked, watched every "episode" up to this one. I'm not a huge 4wd fan, But Bessie is coming along nicely. My plans are for a 12v/nv4500. Plans are for airride too. Keep up the great content.
Yasssss, lol. Was dying to see this upload come. Instantly clicked it. Your vids rock bro.
Thanks man!! Glad I finally got it uploaded lol
@@ChucksCustoms ready for the next one man. It's lookin sooo nice bro. I wish I had your talent.
It just helps that I have the tools lol but if I can do it, anyone can!
Update man? This is awesome
Where you at Chuck? Got me on the edge of my seat…again! 😂
Can’t wait to see another video upload Chuck! Missing these!
That 2wd steering box in the stock location was the perfect setup to run crossover steering to the passenger knuckle… curious to see how this steering comes out though. Great work so far
I don't know anyone who has blazed a trail of ideas that are yours alone and done near as good... keep them coming
When is the next vid coming out? This looks awesome!
You need to do this full time. Favourite UA-cam channel
Thank you man! Hopefully I’ll be making that happen soon!! When I move to Tennessee I’m going to attempt uploading weekly! 😎
@@ChucksCustoms I’m moving to tenneseee too! Just outside of Nashville
Loving the fabrication
Awesome Lift build I can't wait for part 4
When is season two coming out? 7.41K subscribers are patiently waiting
Steering is concerning, best and safest thing to do it go cross over steering. Get a old first gen dodge Cummins steering box. Mount on the outside of the front of the frame rail. just make a steering shaft with a support and u-joints. Then make a drag link and a steering arm and your done
Love the chain and gear steering step up .
Thanks! It was a neat concept to tinker with, and I’ve seen a few hot rods that had success with it. But for this set up, it was very clunky and unreliable. Maybe a finer tooth gear and smaller chain links would have been smoother
Hey Chuck, I’m a big fan! Man that steering setup is bit sketchy IMO. Love your videos.
ive watched you since you started this project and its awesome to see how much youve learned and done !!
Just came in from welding on my square body and this was waiting for me!
The steering concerns me. There’s a lot of parts to fail there…
Hope it all works though!
Welds are getting better every time! Good luck on the move to your new home safe travels sir!
👍👍 building that steering arm and then re-engineering it so it’s perfect… awesome! I’ve said it before, your an inspiration. Very nice work.
Thank you so much!!
Happy travels Chuck
Chains for steering... Creative, best of luck to you.
That joker fixing to be all over the road
Great work, but my friend, be careful with the stone cutter, as he injured me with 20 thread points in my right hand, and I know friends who had their limbs amputated because of him. Try using a ground breaker, as it may cause less damage.
That plasma torch was great investment
Nice custom work. Never seen that type of steering set up, but looks awesome. Can't wait for the next one. Thanks.
Very nice work! Congrats on the sale of the house too. I hope the move goes smoothly.
Bessie is looking good, look forward to the next video.
Nice work. Already looking forward to the next episode 🤘
Hey chuck big fan here!
I’m real interested to see how your steering setup works
Looking good man keep it up 👍👍💯💯
Hey thanks man! I hope it works once I get it all together 😅
sick build man, excited for the next episode
The Music for 6:20 minutes is good 👍
Still waiting on part 4
Transverse engine support bar is what you would use in that situation to hold the engine up. It sits on top of the engine bay. They are between $70-$90 online. Keep wrenching, sir. looks good.
Looks awesome, can’t wait to see it done
Just awesome Chuck! Been waiting on this! Love the truck and the way you get things done!
This steering setup scares me. Lot of moving parts there. I would of built the steering shaft through the stock tower and kept you 2wd box with crossover.
So much easier, stronger and safer to do crossover steering and still do the hydraulic ram, also it’s not a good idea to use silicone on the oil pump! Nice build
Love the build so far but pleas scrap your steering plan and just go to a cross over steering set up you have everything you need already 2wd box and I seen a passenger side cross bar mount I'm not saying what you got won't work but it's technically not a physical mount steering it will be unsafe
What’s up chuck? Been a while. Looks like I’ve missed a few vids. Looking good!
Just curious wouldn’t a hydraulic orbital valve hooked to the bottom of the steering column been much easier and less complicated? But I like to see people try out new ideas. Keep it up.
Lets go BESSIE !!
Man I don't know about that steering setup. Cool build though!
Nice truck chuck 🤩
This guys crazy.
Chuck when's the next video coming out?
Good stuff
The springs you remove, were they stock? Did they hold the Cummins weight?
Chuck was looking at the plasma cutter you got and was wondering what kind of welder you have be greatly appreciated if you let me know in need of a better welder and would love to know what kind yours is the old flux cord is getting old
I have the Titanium Ultimate 200 from harbor freight and I absolutely love it! Just keep in mind that you’ll need to buy a tank of 75/25 Argon/CO2 for Mig welding, and if you want to do Tig welding you’ll need another tank of 100% argon. My complete set up with an extra regulator and 2 tanks cost me about $1500. Cheaper than most big brand welders and 100% worth every penny with the quality of welds it puts out! The only thing I wish was different is the fact that you can’t get a foot pedal for tig welding like the Vulcan Omnipro 220. Either way, I highly recommend it!
@@ChucksCustoms thanks chuck I was actually looking at those the other day at harbor freight and say did you mention something about you moving to Tennessee if so are you gonna be anywhere close to the Chattanooga area?
No prob! Glad I could help.
And yes! I wish I was moving to Chattanooga because I absolutely love it there, but I’m actually moving just east of Gatlinburg in the Smokies. So about 2.5 hours northeast from there
@@ChucksCustoms well chuck when I get my truck built we might be able to meet up sometime and cruise around the dragon tail even if the trucks handle like boats😂 have a great day
Sounds good to me! Just keep me posted 😎 I should be settled in by the end of June
big fan!!!
What happened to ya? Are you still gonna show the progress? If any?
Please do a cross-over steer, or just full hydro. Your steering is creative, but not safe. Your pivot point should be double sheer.
Damnit can’t wait for the next video
Thanks!
Very cool design tho
really awesome video!
Thank you!
Great job man! But i think it needs to turn further. Just my opinion tho.
Miss your content brother, I hope you're doing well!
If you didn't already do it I would round the corners off on that cross member you put underneath the oil pan
The good thing about the steering being backwards is that it would be really hard to steal.
Way way overcomplicated your steering . I am currently doing a c30 4x4 Cummins and kept pan rear sump and have no issues with 4" lift . I am using push pull steering but your 2wd box would have worked for crossover high steer and it is the ultimate steering setup , you could plumb lines from box to a ram off the drag link for hydro assist and that's top notch.with your setup as it articulates it is going to steer on its own , and good articulations one way may render your steering useless like lifted push pull setups .
Did you die under the truck? Looks like it was your last video. Hope to see more on this!!!
Holy shit haha. Insane
Love the video, but stay safe dude.
Will do! I appreciate it brother
YEEEEESSSSSS!!!!!!!! Finally!!!!!!!
It's been a long time since we got a new video
Good broo
That's a bit too custom for me. Steering is one of those things to be kept as simple as possible. Too many points of failure in that system. That truck is off-road only now and even then I wouldn't trust it.
With my skillset (and patience level) I think I’m better off buying a 4x4 and putting a flat bed on it. Oh, wait, cripes I have two F250 4WD. I better get to work.
need an update on how bessie is doing
Some awesome fabrication, but that steering setup is concerning. The last thing you want is to be driving down the highway at 70 mph and your chain hood off or one of your many welds fails…
Any new videos coming?
Any updates?
I'm so sorry that happened to you.
great work but that chain steering needs to go
Am I the only one that’s curious to see pics of his mangled finger? I have come close to loosing a few myself lol
I'm guessing the steering didn't work out for the best ,,, RIP
Cummings engine?
Hey can you help me on my 4x4 Chevy Silverado 1500
dont you just love gm and there dame rivets
Updates?
That thing is a death trap lol!!!!
PLEASE!!! DO NOT DRIVE THIS MESS ON THE ROAD!!! There's Too Many Failure Points! Put the Original Steering Box back in the stock location and build a Cross Steer setup. What you are doing will at minimum cause a wreck. It could get someone killed.
Like you vid's but your music is way too loud. I am tired of turning it down after I turned it up to hears you.
Bessy brick
Nightmare steering will come back to bite you
Wtf is that steering?
Experimental
Gotta be honest, not liking your steering. Maybe hydraulic would have been a better choice.
ouch, im glad you arn't interested in making a helicopter. your going to hurt someone with that steering on the road. having a hobby is a good thing, but you must have 100k in this taking stock of your time. a note on cummins swaps: its
cheaper to buy a doner vehicle with the entire desired setup than piece it together. I hope this quixotic project didnt cost you your house/wife. sorry, but it hard to watch some one get old during a project, not that I haven't done that.
Bunch of scrap metal welded together
What happened
Loose the music..great video but the music not so much..
Could of just used the 2wd box and did cross over steering
No videos for a year, I guess he crushed his head like a grape. Let's hope not!
Are you in jail
Не черта по не понимаю по английски, но скажу что узел поворота дерьмо.
As a senior PLEASE stop the music
I wouldn't trust that steering on the road
Ackermans steering. All you want to know about steering and angles
