    Have you considered dry canning it? I bet the flavors are more intense

    Hi Linda! Do you have a link for the Cajun Seasoning? I’ve been trying to find it with no success! Thank You!

    I went and purchased some of this seasoning to try this recipe and I canned 13 pint jars and decided to open one because only 12 would fit back in the box. It was so delicious! I did not put a Bayleaf in mine. I just put about a half a teaspoon in each jar. I plan on canning some more chicken tomorrow and I wanted to taste the chicken before I decided to use this seasoning in tomorrow’s batch. That is a definite a winner! Thank you for telling us about this wonderful seasoning.

    I have several more packages of chicken that I need to can. Does anyone have any other suggestions for some other seasoning that I might be able to use that would taste wonderful just like this one?

    Anyone have tips on canned chicken to not taste like tuna? I have never even ate store bought canned chicken bc it smells like tuna to me, but I did home can some and haven’t eaten it eat. I didn’t know if anything like par cooking or seasonings may help.

      I think ya outta go ahead & try what you canned! Just think..if you like it..you can get more canned up before it goes any higher in price & you`ll have some shelf stable meat that you can do so much with! You`ll never know if you like it till you try it! :)

      @@sarahcourtney1658 oh, exactly why I went ahead and did it, was my first canning project :). Just didn’t know if anyone had any tips and tricks. I did the par cook and rinse method to get really clean and clear jars, but that tips isn’t everywhere, so I figure some one out there has some good tips and tricks🤞

      @@AmandaWoolsey I Yepper.. always par cook my chicken (just a personal preference vs raw packing) and then I add either plain simmering water or broth to the jars. Sounds like you did fine..other than I`ve never heard of rinsing the chicken after par cooking it.
      I guess I`ve never experienced a tuna smell with store bought canned chicken lol I don`t normally add any seasonings when I`m doing boneless breast..not knowing how I`ll be using it. But I do can up chicken in a spicy broth & alsoJeni`s Asian Chicken. I`m looking forward to canning Linda`s Cajun Chicken, now. The more meat I have on my shelves..the happier I am...esp not knowing what`s ahead of us
      Happy canning!

    The meat was cold when she put it in the jars. Does anyone know why the water she added had to be hot?

    • @terryhall2299
      @terryhall2299 2 роки тому

      I think it was because the meat was really cold.

    Your not supposed to touch lids for 24 hours tapping when first removing causes false seal
