Michael McCuin every song on this album is just about my favorite songs by them. This album is definitely their best imo. I saw them live and wished they played more from their first 4 albums
@@gwagb27 Maaan, i got so fucking lucky. Finally after 4 years of not being in the area they came. I have never enjoyed a show so much and they played this, top 3 experiences of my life so far!
people keep saying that Mastodon have poor vocals. I strongly dissagree with that statement. The vocals have to enhance and carry on the concept of the music/song and the general mood of the band, which in my opinion in mastodon's case is done excellently.
i can only imagine how difficult it must be to play those licks from escape on a 12 string. I know its the same thing but its a strange feel and those solos are difficult enough on a 6 string.
people need to realise that on top of being not a perfect vocalist anyway, Brent is a heavy drinker, has brain damage from the vmas and on top of that, has to play this complex stuff WHILST singing...i'm a guitarist, and believe me, this is no easy task...
I just saw them live on Sunday and was maybe 5 feet from Brent at some points. I've seen other footage of them but brent was on point and put on an amazing show when I saw them. I was very proud of him bc I was expecting him to be staggering around and whatnot lol
@tasikas75 they have struggled, but they have also improved greatly. And it also sounds worse in videos. If you see them live, the vocals fit in perfectly because their performance is so freakin powerful, ive seen them twice already and both have been the best concerts. now i got them again this november
love this song. Mastodon have such a cool sound for a metal band.. I don't even notice the apparently poor vocals. im just in amazement at the killer riffs
Yep, got into a fight with SOADs bassist and William Hudson in Vegas...According to a police report the Las Vegas Weekly cites, Hinds was the instigator and allegedly took off his shirt and hit Odadjian with it, then punched Hudson in the face and chest. After initially trying to calm Hinds, Odadjian and Hudson punched him in the head, resulting in Hinds' severe injuries: brain hemorrhaging, a broken nose and pair of black eyes.
you trolls no nothing.brent hinds is the driving force behind this band.his voice is indeed unique.it makes the songs he sings so much better than the other guys imho.if they split today i would bet youd see and hear brent again.i cant say as much for the rest of them.but to each to his own.follow the leader its fun...not
Dude. Brann have an awesome clean singing voice and u should check out "gone is gone" and "killer be killed" with troy if u think only brent is worth something here..and to be honest they all struggle live
@tasikas75 they've gotten much better live. brent still lags on certain songs, but watch vids from the current "The Hunter" tour and i guarentee your opinion on there live vocals will change.
Looks like Brent's really blown his voice here. See the Live at Aragon DVD and he doesn't sing this bad here (although he doesn't sing very good live, but who can when playing awesome riffs like that?!). Is it just me or is Troy signaling "I got this" at @03:55?
i don't think it was an i got this since this is his verse, i think it was him saying "you're good" because brent stood in front of him for a little bit while he was singing
Oh no I know well about the story and everything, i'm just wondering did he actually get full-blown brain damage? He seems like good ol Brent in interviews taken after the incident
I'm tied between this and The Last Baron as their greatest song. Calling Crack the Skye a masterpiece is an insult.

I personally enjoy unique vocalist, Mastodon, Rush, Tool..

Most people complain about the live vocals, not the ones on the albums
@@aayushsachdeva9161 even live theyre amazing idk why people would complain lol
03:50 Troy: "Thanks for giving me back the spotlight dude"
Troys verse in this song is awesome
Bill is so cool
This band is as epic as Yes, Rush, and King Crimson. They are so intricate its astounding.
i can only imagine how difficult it must be to play those licks from escape on a 12 string. I know its the same thing but its a strange feel and those solos are difficult enough on a 6 string.
What can be greater than a band with Randy Rhoads in the floor tom? And the dots are for Randy´s classic guitar decoration. I Love it
Brent's motion at 7:36 gave me chills

Brent is probably may favorite ginger ever
@tasikas75 you got to remember that touring for months at a time can really blow your voice
Brent sounds just fine when he's on his own but his voice is so weird and wavery that when they try and harmonise he always sounds off.
Jamie Willcox I think troy's part is just an octave below Brent's in the beginning
06:33 is really where the epicness begins...

I miss my son. I see your face in constellations❤️
Amazing. Truly.
Best song ever, best band ever!
Great quality! Thanks for share! Cheers from Argentina!
Obrigado
Thats right there better be no dislikes!!!!!
8:17 Brent looks straight at the camera for a moment there.
@meket112 totally. most people who say that have also never seen them live..
Awesome!
whoever is clapping at the beginning needs to cut that shit out
8:22
*Wink.*
Fucking sick song ...
my point is that he does remarkably well considering what he's been through
Is it just me or are the colors really vivid in this video?
May not be just you, it could also be the mushrooms or acid.

@sleepwalker658 well, they are big here in europe to, but seriously, they should be HUGE.

Personally I think Brann is the driving force, considering he’s the drummer. And a fantastic drummer at that.
Maaaanooo essa música é linda para o cacete
I have a First Act guitar too but I got mine at Target.
the clapping fucks the beginning riff up 😔
8:08 BEST PART !!
holy shit how many strings does his guitar have??!?!?
Epic ☺️
impressive

its a first act 12 string.
@3SkatingLibras they should be metallica in the early 90s huge
Somebody clapping at the beginning of the song was seriously annoying
Listen to Bran beat those drums!
@NoobDante Well... It's a twelve string. So... Twelve. It has twelve strings.
what camera do you have dude, for real.
@4vengedsevenfold they're pretty huge in the united states.
Witch camera did you use?!
Who's clappin cheeks in the beginning?
fuckin' hands
12?
Oh no I know well about the story and everything, i'm just wondering did he actually get full-blown brain damage? He seems like good ol Brent in interviews taken after the incident
love these guys, but the are not natural voclists and it shows in their live performances
@king7299 Hows that funny?
Its your own fault...
did he get proper brain damage? shit never knew that!
Fuck....
