I can hear the pain in his voice, and see it on his face. Oh man. When I began my studies at Clark Atlanta, in 1997, Amanda Davis was one of the first anchors I saw on TV. I looked forward to her broadcasts from the Dr. King Ecumenical services every year... and her wonderful voice.... I'm saddened. Condolences to her family and friends.

She was one of the reasons I began really watching the news....being a teenager and attracted to her poise and beauty.....She and many of the anchors of the ATL were known throughout the city in such a way.....on Channel 2 people would wonder what hairstyle Monica Kaufman was wearing that day and Amanda and Brenda always looking great.....Ken Cook was the most reliable weatherman...and early 2000s Suchita was the reason I had a Good Day start. Amanda is the first of this great generation of newcasters to leave us....thank you for all you did for the city, just by being you Amanda.

Slim Jim Longfoot ATL the women anchors have a bond like no other...Monica, Amanda, Brenda, Karyn have all been apart of ATL TV for 30+ years...Plus you have a new generation of young ones coming up...These ladies are the gold standard, and I remember her on Good Day Atlanta she and Paul were great together , and we're the original host...Job well done Amanda.

I read through the comments..and like many others I never realized how spoiled I was by Amanda..she had a way of reaching out to the audience and relating with us through her honesty and that beautiful glowing spirit of hers...I feel as though I have lost a friend...to learn of her sadness and struggles only makes me miss her even more...to know that she brightened up so many peoples days with that charm...only to be struggling herself...god bless this precious lady... Rest in peace....You'll be a beautiful angel...and I know your spirit will soar in the kingdom of heaven for eternity...I hope Amanda's children and family read all of these comments..and come to know just how many people Amanda touched.. I know their in pain...and I hope it helps to lift their spirits to know that their mom was admired and loved more than she ever realized..Amanda lifted peoples spirits without even trying...that was her gift to everyone who watched her...take some strength in that...

I don't live in Atlanta and have never heard of Amanda, but she seemed like an awesome and blessed person. We are very similar and I wish I had gotten a chance to have known her like Atlantans have. May she Rest In Peace🙏🏾

I grew up watching Amanda Davis as a kid and then I worked as an editor at Fox. When she came in to voice a package I'd feel a little starstruck and became nervous. She was a fantastic lady, lot's of presence in real life as well as on TV. Incidentally as an editor, I can't help but point out the flash frame at 2:31 in this very nice tribute.

I'm not from the southern us, but, I HAVE seen Ms Davis, and I couldn’t remember how then I came across this (ua-cam.com/video/UfjYJdAaExo/v-deo.html - at 15 seconds in), she was one of the reporters from the long-defunct, and I don't think well-remembered by many early attempt at making a competitor to CNN; SNC - the Sattelite News Channel (my personal feelings, is the less said, the better 😉), and though this spot is not anything more than a bit of 'fluff', I'm certain for those who saw Ms Davis as a journalistic 'voice' for more than 2.5 decades, it DOES bring a smile.
Any time a (REAL) journalist passes, it's truly a sad day, for society.
Thank you, Ms Davis, for enlightening the world, by making it easier for viewers to understand, and see it.

Amanda Davis' death closed out what was a truly awful 2017 for Atlanta, with the I-85 bridge collapse, the blackout at Hartsfield-Jackson...and yes, the choke seen 'round the world at Super Bowl LI.
