An elderly man in northern China’s Hebei province was filmed arguing with a saleswoman at a car dealership, insisting that he wanted to buy a car for only 13 yuan (US$2). The dealership had used the wrong price in an advertisement. But some online have questioned the authenticity of the clip.

Wrong here’s why. If he didn’t get the car he could’ve sued for false advertisement and gotten more money from that. Once again, doesn't change the fact that the store is also getting fined and may lose their business license. Yeah he was rude about it, but he was in the RIGHT or was a CUSTOMER. Maybe next time, the store shouldn't up a false advertisement, film the interaction and get caught. Also, staff at that point should have gotten a manager or take him to a side room to discuss, not let him put on a show and FILM it so it can go viral. This is a dealership, they have MANY side/office rooms where customers can discuss payment methods/negotiate. You never talk about price or let this kind of situation escalate. This all could have been avoided if they followed protocol but they were actively told not to. Also, all dealerships have security, there's a reason no security guards showed up (it's so the video can go viral) and he can sue for emotional damages/trauma and he still receives the product, and same with anyone else who went into the dealership that was turned down for the offer.

Legend has it that uncle is still trying to buy a car from the dealership for $2
@@mai_moodz In Chinese "uncle" and "auntie" can be used to address a general elderly person.

why not

The company was in the wrong, the poor workers did not deserve this...
It is the law though
If its advertised for that price then that's the price.
Biblical Adrian no it's not. Advertisement falls under intention to treat, not contract proposals, meaning that companies are not bound to honour the advertisement.
Advertisement does not mean the company must sell the products though .😅😅
both the company and guy are at fault but the company is gonna pay a bigger price in general

I blame the guy who made the ad tbh
Bro the dude is clearly trolling. Ofc he ain't gonna get a car for 2$ so I think he was just playing along with it and trying to mock them for trying to sell it for 2$
@@raymondqiu8202 how is it trolling when he’s threatening to beat the cashier to death “with his money”
He’s basically taking advantage of an honest mistake, whether the law backs him up for “misleading advertisement” or not, we all know a car is not worth 2 dlls, and at the end of the day the one that will face the consequences will be the employee, so the man has no empathy or consideration for the employee.
It wouldn't even affect the employee unless she was the one who made the advertisement, because they didn't give it to him when that's what was shown for the price I'm pretty sure the company will be in more trouble than anything.
Did you watch the video until the end? One of the staff admitted to it being a publicity stunt, not a mistake. And the store was suspected of price fraud by the authorities. You advertise a price, you have to sell for that price. There's a reason those rules exist....
@@dianasosa1301 advertising only constitutes as an invitation to treat, and is no considered to be a valid offer. The customer is the one making the offer to buy the car, the cashier is not obligated to accept his offer and may make a counter offer instead if she so desires.
@@aaronfang6965 if there is no intention to deceive, there is no requirement for you to honour that price. Again, the company is not making the offer, it is the customer making the offer, therefore they are not obligated to accept your offer. You may refer to Fisher v Bell's case as well.
If you look at things logically, there is a high chance that the company here has made a mistake in advertising. If they were to advertise the car for so cheap, what customers do they intend to attract? People who aren't willing to buy the car even close to full price in the first place?
Yap
Him: I get 1600 yuan a month
Also him: trying to buy the car for 13 yuan😂😂😂😂
The man is absolutely unreasonable, i would gladly give him my car for $2 if he tells me that he has never made a mistake in his life.
You advertise at that price, you sell at that price. Or you will be accused of fraud. The man is rational.
Muhammad Rifky Adjie Prasetio the man is absolutely not rational!!
There is no law requiring companies to honour an advertising price if the price was a mistake.
However, if a company does this over and over, they could be held accountable for fraud. Companies make mistakes.
This man has no right to demand the car for $2 and was extremely aggressive to the woman who had nothing to do with the price, disgusting.
@@andrewchen2002 I respected your opinion. Alas, it's obligatory to a company to do what they said in the advertisement. There are so many rules covering the customer right, protecting the consumer from the advertisement fraud. China adopted a new Advertising Law in September 2015 which impose stricter controls on advertisers wanting to promote their goods or services within the People's Republic. For example, the Advertising Law prohibits false or misleading content.

What idiot believes truth without proof?
I think they just forgot to put 万 after 12.98. It was a big mistake that a company could do, but how can people believe is possible to buy a new car for 12.98¥, really need a brain check.
It's the law and the company is responsible to what they advertise
It's like suing red bull because it didn't say let you grow wings or suing a tobacco brand for giving your husband lung cancer. Some people just feel no shame.
How can you believe a car is worth 129000 yuan? See the irony?
Nobody believes that
Its the law and he took an opportunity to take advantage
It is not the law. An advertisement is not an contract. People who think he's in the right are dumb. While the advertisement error could lead to fines or a percentage discount on the product. You cant get a near 20k product for 2$, just not gonna happen nor should it.
I feel the lady’s pain I haven’t worked as a cashier but people need to understand TGEY DONT MAKE THE RULES
