Zelda and Final Fantasy in the same half of the year. Just insane. I remember playing FF1 and LoZ on the NES when I was a kid and these two franchises are still going strong!
The new FF looks terrible though 🤦♂️ it's a shame because Yoshi P is the one behind it and I like that guy, he did well with FF14.
It's nice to see good series that can evolve with the times. Not only are they still great, they still hold the essence of the original games that made them so iconic.
Resident evil 4 in the corner
I havent liked an FF game since X, and im SO SO excited for 16, I think it has the potential to be the best entry in the series since 9.
FF isn´t anymore FF. It´s an action RPG, not a JRPG. But as a JRPG it became, what it was.
2023 is a breath of fresh air, so many great dev teams getting to release their hard work in so many different genres and styles.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
What are you talking about? Literally nothing here is original, creative, and not just recycled sameness over and over. LOL Just the same old shit from last year with slightly better graphics.... Boring.
I'm really excited for Jedi survivor, hopefully we get more time with the rebels. See what equipment they have since the movies didn't exactly show off their full potential most of the time...
And I kinda hope that Cal and that witch (forgot her name) with the Russian accent get more cutscenes together. It would be cool to see their relationship evolve more.
I'm hoping for a sequel to alien isolation
It’s already planned I think😊
Me too !
One can dream
Yes and a psvr2 mode please.
@@Soimy yeah I remember seeing disney or fox was looking for developers for an Alien game so theres that
I cannot believe how many of my favorite series are having releases just on the first half, Final Fantasy, Zelda, Resident Evil, Fire Emblem, Street Fighter, all I need now is time and money to play them all
Likewise, I’m finally seeing so many possible great returns to series I love. Lots to spend on and no where near enough time.
Mainly time 😂😂😂
I've never been a Harry Potter fan, yet the Harry Potter game is the one I can't wait to play from this list. It looks absolutely incredible.
2023 could give 2018 a run as one of the best years for games in a long while. 2018 was top heavy but 2023 is going to be stacked with a lot of great games and a few masterpieces
Fire Emblem Engage and Octopath Traveler II are Day 1 purchases for me.
I'm a huge Fire Emblem fan since the GBA days and have played almost all of the main series games so of course I'm going to play Engage as well.
Octopath Traveler was surprisingly good game and I have to say I'm hyped for the sequel. It looks so cool. The graphics and animations are unreal.
I don't usually pre-order games, but i did pre-order FE Engage Divine Edition. Probably my most anticipated game of 2023.
Playing the Fire Emblem games on 3ds for a couple of months now. Good series, made me pre order Fire Emblem Engage.
Everything on this list is a day one purchase for me except Street Fighter 6 and Sons of the forest
I've been looking forward to a possible Space Marine 2 for many years, but now with the return of Armored Core all my hype and faith has been put in From Software's hands. Can't wait for both.
On top of that, we're getting our cinematic universe of Warhammer 40k thanks to Henry Cavill! And he'll be an executive producer so he will be true to the source material! Unlike Witcher and Lord of the Rings 👀
You spittin straight facts rn my dude.
Just remember it’s not gonna be dark souls or elden ring. At all. It won’t even be related in gameplay.
@@BrowardHeron did I mention those games, I've been waiting since AC4

I’m really intrigued by Space Marine 2 and The Day Before
Yeah The Day Before you need to relatively skeptical about, there's major rumours of it being a big flop... Space marine 2 though I'm pumped
I find it quite funny how games like The Day Before people are skeptical about and are expecting to be a flop, but nobody saw it coming with Watch Dogs, Cyberpunk, Titanfall, Anthem, Andromeda, 76, No Man's Sky, etc. I pretty much always see it coming, you can just sort of tell by how the devs go about things, how much they hide things, how overly impressive stuff looks, and how much attention they get.
@@MrZodiac011 if you could tell back in 2014 that's impressive, fake advertising was barely a thing back then
I mean titanfall wasn’t even bad, probably a game that threw people off because it had no campaign but me also being a competitive shooter player, that game was nice, great guns, movement, maps and titans to top it off
Always love watching your videos. To be a part of a community of peeps that are just as passionate for video games feels pretty cool. Also if I'm not mistaken, black.myth wukong is coming out a bit before star wars Jedi survivor comes out!! I know people say this every year but man, 2023 really feels like it's gonna be a crazy juggernaut of a year for gaming and I am beyond excited!!
Literally nothing here hasnt already been done, and isnt just copy paste..... Like really another resident evil, a souls type game, and 50,000,000 jedi games, and comic book games. You are really easily impressed....
I have a feeling 2023 is going to be a good year for games of all sorts not just one particular genre!
I figured Starfield would be on here.....
@@weedthepeople2795 might be in part 2
Hahaha, I thought exactly the opposite, this is 80% 3rd person Action Adventure Games :-D
@@BigMoserGaming No need to do that if those are the titles they are looking forward too. But it was really apparent to me, not that that is a bad thing for most, maybe I am just the odd one out ;-)
Thats what everyone says every year only to be fairly disappointed at the end of the year that there was only 2-3 actually great games and everything else was broken mess or meh.
i just want Starfield and Space Marine 2 at the moment, oh and Phantom Liberty also.
I'm looking forward to Jedi Survivor and Tears of the Kingdom. But mostly very hyped for the latter. The Legend of Zelda is my all time favorite video game franchise.
2024: Both games didnt disappoint at all.
I'm stoked for both!
This has to be the best game line ups in several years and this is only the first half of the year? Wow finally the good times return :D
Nightingale seems like it might be a huge hit to me. The realm cards system looks fascinating and perhaps something that elevates the survival genre? Not to mention graphically and artistically the world is gorgeous. Definitely keeping a close eye on this one.
I've been following it since it first was announced. A survival game with RPG elements set in a steampunk/fantasy world being made by a bunch of former Bioware devs? Sign me up!
Yes, I'm very excited to see what Nightingale turns out to be. Hopefully it will be a cool survival game I can play with my gaming buddies 😀
Can't believe you didn't mention Kerbal Space Program 2. Easily my most anticipated game for 2023
Great list. The most exciting mainstream games are here (but for Starfield). Well done !
Although, even if SW Jedi Survivor is gonna be a banger, I still hope we'll get a Jedi Knight III, one day, as a good old FPS with the ability to switch to 3rd person view when using saber.
Most hyped game is spider man 2 and it isn't even on the list
No chance Starfield releases by June
@@Larainha2011 this is only for the first half of 2023. Earliest spiderman 2 releases is fall 23
No because that's too far of a stretch
i dont think theres any chance of there being anything to equal early 00s star wars media.
This is probably the first time in a while that I planned to play most games on the list the start of this year is looking GREAT.
Hey, I farted.
hahahahaha Just messin around, all in good fun.
The Day Before is the game I'm looking forward to the most. It got delayed but the game is schedule to come out in March 2023. I'm surprised it didn't make the list at all.
I'm quite excited for assassin's creed mirage, we know it'll have a parkour system that resembles ac unity's, so I feel like that's already a massive step up in terms of parkour compared to the last 3 games. Stealth will also again be a big part of the game, so I hope they don't mess it up and make a good game out of it
I'm excited too I have faith in them
Same
Similar to Unity? No. Nobody said that. It will be Valhalla's movement system in a AC1 like setting, lol.
Unity's parkour system is an inconsistent abomination.

@@raresmacovei8382 clearly you don't follow the information we're getting, many different youtubers have made video's on things we already know, and one thing that's always present is the parkour from ac Unity. Unity's parkour was also the most fluent and flashy and most fun to use out of the whole series, so they almost can't go wrong with it. It'll ofc not be a copy paste from unity, they'll change some things probably but that's what we now. You should get yourself educated on subjects if you wanna argue about them
Sons of the forest has been on my radar for a while and the first one was phenomenal!
Jedi Survivor and Diablo 4 are games I am looking forward to. Fallen Order is a fantastic game and if the sequel is just a fraction of what it was I wouldn't be disappointed. Honestly the only reason why I wanna play Diablo 4 is because it has the Druid class and I hope it retains some of the things it did in Diablo 2. I loved the Druid in Diablo 2, my absolute favorite class in the series.
Was really hoping The Day Before would make the list! Definitely seems to be like The Division aesthetic with DayZ gameplay. I’m hype for it come March!
Looking back at the history of the dev team making 'The Day Before,' I am unfortunately taking anything we see with a massive pinch of salt and would suggest you do the same.
Excited for Black Myth: Wukong but time will tell if that makes it as a 2023 release
Atelier Ryza 3 drops in February. Super excited to dive into that!
Also that complete version of theatre rhythm final fantasy, one of the only games ill be buying at launch since games are just too expensive to buy at launch now specially with most games being a mess. 90$ for a broken game that needs 3-4 months to be fixed becomes frustrating.
The final Ryza caked up adventure.
got that and Sophie 2 coming out are the same time. looking forward to both!
I'm excited for Starfield

Good for you man. People act like you can't be excited for games anymore. Hype is a part of the fun of gaming just make sure not to be too disappointed if it doesn't deliver. Also always wait for reviews. Don't give them money if they don't give you the experience you deserve.

Figures...
@@godvandamme9921 everything has to be coded and remade again... you cant reuse anything beside... the general story which was probably re-wrote. basic ideas and stories are the easy part of making a game. coding textures, bug fixing... that is why it takes YEARS to make a game. and that has to be started from scratch. people like you make me lose all faith in humanity. you have no clue how anything is made, or how anything is made...

I know the date's not confirmed (we only have leaks), but Outcast 2 is supposed to be out in April. So that's the other one I'm really looking forward to.
I can’t wait for most of these games to come out, but I’m a bit disappointed that they didn’t mention Silksong, The second game by Team Cherry. I really loved Hollow Knight and haven’t played much else. The game is coming a bit before June of next year, I can’t wait!

I know it doesn’t have a release date but the biggest game for me in years is StarField.
The Callisto Protocol has me hyped for the Dead Space comeback! Thank you for not thinking it’s a bad release full on! I think it got a little too much hate due to people expecting it to be like a full fledged Dead Space game. If you can keep both games separate, Callisto has gotta be one of the most graphically thrilling games this year!
But the controls on ps5 I started but I don't know if I like the game enough to try to get use to the controls... I mean left stick for dodging and blocking??? Why ffs???
@@Flaggyt it’s just one of those funky games. I don’t think the devs let anyone but themselves play it before release so it would’ve been nice to get a public opinion before release. They updated it and the controls are way more user friendly now!

Not a huge Harry Potter fan but I’m super excited for Hogwarts Legacy.. It looks like a full experience and complete game. Great post as always Happy Holidays!

This is the FIRST HALF of 2023!? This is more exciting than the entire year of 2022! 2023 is looking STACKED

not mentioned or well known much but Legend of Heroes Trails to Azure and Trails into Reverie full also coming out in the 1st half of 2023 for fans in the West.
For this list am really looking forward to Dead Space Remake (A little worried because EA), Resident Evil 4 (hopefully no cut content this time) and maybe give Hogwarts Legacy a go because a custom character sounds really interesting for me.
from a gameplay standpoint, that Forspoken demo was insanely fun. One of the most unique magic combat systems I’ve seen in a game.
I agree. But they really lowered the graphic quality between the release trailer and the demo. I hope the release product is higher def

Dead Island is only about 10 hours long but, I hope there are lots of surprises to find and side quests. I waited so long for it!
So excited for the upcoming year of games!! Hogwarts Legacy might as well take my soul now!
I wasn't super into the Forespoken demo, but that is probably good because, as this list shows, the first half of the year is staked.
I had to buy the RE 2 & 3 remakes from the Steam winter sale just to have the complete collection when 4 comes out 😅
Actually Resident Evil 4 would be the first game for me to try in this franchise, and it has a lot to prove to me to get me hooked into the other resident games. I have always been curious about all the buzz around Resident Evil and why players adore these games so much that whenever a game launches it's like a historical event. So either this game gets me into this franchise or I will say goodbye forever to Resident Evil.
You’re one guy shut up
@@SickUserName tell Capcom what you have just said and listen to their answer.
I was in your shoes before never played one before and was curious about why it was hyped. So I played RE7 cause it was kinda like a standalone story and people highly recommended it. I freakin loved it, then I played the RE 2 and 3 remakes and absolutely loved them. Finally just played RE8 and really liked it but not as much as the others. So my advice is try it. Start with 2 and 3 and then 7 and 8. It’s a great series and it’s a perfect time to jump in with all the remakes.
@@spencerein2227 People like you encourage me to put more interest in RE, and to be honest I did try to engage myself in RE several times. I tried playing RE 4 on the ps2, I also tried to play RE 1 remaster on the ps3 a while a go. While I have no doubt about how good the stories of these games are, my problem is with the gameplay, it's slow and the movement is difficult and just dissatisfying to me. Also the lack of resources in these games is frustrating. I am not complaining about it just to complain cause I had other experiences where the lack of resources was an addition to the fun of the gameplay ( the Metro franchise ).
With RE 4 remake I hope I will overcome my skepticism about this series and have fun like all the other gamers. ( I also hope to do the same with soulsborne games someday XD )
@@JB-fr1my You can start with RE 2 remake or RE 7. Games just can't get much better than those.

three games i'm eager to get my hands on in 2023, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom & Assassin's Creed Mirage (Suicide Squad being up for debate).
i'm surprised you didn't include Mirage on this list, seeing as how it's release window is supposed march, but since some have said it's been pushed to august i don't know whether i'm disappointed you didn't include it on the first half list or that it's more accurate than speculation it's been pushed to second half of the year.
My personal watch list: Hogwarts, Forspoken, Jedi, and Assassins Creed. Just saying I will pay close attention to reviews and buy if reviews are generally positive
I’m excited for lots of these games but Atomic Heart is the one I’m so excited for! Any game that reminds me of bioshock or dishonoured has me immediately intrigued- and the soviet spin also adds something that isn’t used enough in those kinds of games imo

I've never played any Horizon games, but I'm looking forward to getting a PSVR 2 and playing Call of the Mountain. The Hogwarts Legacy placement on this list was criminal. That’s a top 5 game of next year without a doubt.
I was literally looking for a comment like this. Very weird how low it was placed. Probably just biased cause it’s obviously going to sell better than most the games on this list. Not that many people play final fantasy anymore compared to games like Hogwarts legacy

Really surprised that Baldur’s Gate 3 wasn’t mentioned at all. I was expecting it to be #1. Just because of the sheer scope, size, the game devs are super amazing people, dedicated, and such a huge huge brand/world to draw inspiration from. The world of Dungeons and Dragons.
The classic tabletop game that’s been out like what? Over a hundred years or more?
I mean the first act of the game is already proven amazing. Completely amazing.
Just hoping they’ll have tiny hut and magic mansion type spells!!
its only the first half, bg get released in august so it will be in the 2nd
DnD is from the 60s-70s 🤦♂️🤡
Was hyped for it until I found out the gameplay was changed. Loved the first two games but won't be purchasing the 3rd one sadly.
I'm excited for that new dead space remake, and lou factions
I was excited for Dead Space but not anymore after playing The Callisto Protocol.
I am excited af for Disgaea 7, and it releases the day after my birthday!
One piece odyssey, dead space remake, RE4 remake, star wars jedi survivor..... can't wait
Hogwarts legacy looks amazing, the attention to detail in their gameplay showcases has been unreal, and avalanche software is about as good a company as any, they run out of my home state, they are solid. I hope people won’t punish this amazing studio for stupid comments Rowling said, what she said does not reflect this amazing studio.
Forspoken definitely seems the most questionable one here but otherwise a lot of amazing stuff set to come in the first half of 2023 :)
When I seen dead island 2 on the list I thought for sure “The Day Before” would get mentioned. It’s an open world game designed like Tom Clancy’s the division but with zombies
As somebody who does a lot of bicycling and a tiny bit of video gaming, this was super helpful
