This reminds me so much of Erik and Christine from Phantom of the Opera. Which is funny because James Barbour is playing the phantom on Broadway right now!
Loving you keeps me alive, think again before you leave me His love cannot be as true as the love I offer you You're wasting time pretending you belong to him Come to your senses Loving you keeps me alive, I'll be in your heart forever And you'll be a part of me from now till eternity You've talked yourself into believing he's the one Such wild pretenses The first time I set eyes on you I knew I'd never be the same I never knew I'd get such pleasure Whispering your name If loving you keeps me alive Then how can leaving me be right? Turn back and let me love you Stay with me and let us dance into the night You are the one, the only one To make me see the empty life I lead You are the love The only love I'll ever need The first time I set eyes on you I knew I'd never be the same I never knew I'd get such pleasure Whispering your name If loving you keeps me alive Then how can leaving me be right? Turn back and let me love you Stay with me and let us dance into the night
This is the only song I've heard from this musical but I'm already in love with it. But it does remind me of "The Phantom of the Opera," which is literally my life. James Barbour is incredible in this!
Beatriz Alencar No, I think it's only because they both share the loss of their beloved muses (Sarah Brightman for Andrew Llyod Webber and Linda Eder for Frank Wildhorn).
Ugh this song is so gorgeous. Whenever I listen to this song, I always think of Luke Evans. Oh man, if they brought this musical back he would be the perfect Dracula 😍 Where's ALW at?? 🧐🤔
I wish we could get an english version with the new(ish) songs included in the German version - The Whitby Bay reprise trio song with Mina, Dracula and Jonathan... and the awesome "zu Ende" with Dracula and Van Helsing.
there's and English version of its over. but I wish there was a English version of she from the Korean production where Dracula talk about his past love and how he became a vampire from a prince

smartiegirl112 Maybe the pairing itself isn't the problem as much as the fact it's portrayed as consensual. I prefer a version where Dracula does not love Mina, only wanting her to be a stand-in for his dead wife, and Mina is just terrified by the whole thing. Seriously, why does she end up wanting to leave Jonathan for an undead man who literally stalks her in her sleep?
Yeahh i was confused by the 1992 movie why did she love him? they had like 10mins screen time together and she just found out that he killed lucy but still loved him? we didnt see their relaitionship grow. And ive only seen this verison i will have to watch more :)
smartiegirl112 Personally the reason why I dislike Dracula/Mina is simple: it was not in the book. Dracula was a monster who came to London to spread his vampirism, and Mina was a brave woman who fought against him. The whole "dead wife" backstory first appeared in 1973 TV film and then more popularly in the 1992 movie. I get it that when a story has been adapted as often as Dracula people want to make changes, but due to popularity of the 1992 movie this romance plot is used way too often since. Most recently in the awful NBC TV series. It worked for one movie, let it rest now. Bring back evil Dracula.
Just looked at it, to me it doesn't come close to this. That guy sounds extremely breathy with lack of control of his vibrato. This guy nails absolutely everything. I appreciate that guys version though, he'd probably do well in the pop world.
This reminds me so much of Erik and Christine from Phantom of the Opera. Which is funny because James Barbour is playing the phantom on Broadway right now!
Or of Edward and Jane? from Jane Eyre, he is brilliant in that too!
I saw him in phantom on broadway years ago now but I was able to find him after and talk to him 😭😄💗
An eternal love song. Sang by an eternal singer.
Loving you keeps me alive, think again before you leave me
His love cannot be as true as the love I offer you
You're wasting time pretending you belong to him
Come to your senses
Loving you keeps me alive, I'll be in your heart forever
And you'll be a part of me from now till eternity
You've talked yourself into believing he's the one
Such wild pretenses
The first time I set eyes on you
I knew I'd never be the same
I never knew I'd get such pleasure
Whispering your name
If loving you keeps me alive
Then how can leaving me be right?
Turn back and let me love you
Stay with me and let us dance into the night
You are the one, the only one
To make me see the empty life I lead
You are the love
The only love I'll ever need
The first time I set eyes on you
I knew I'd never be the same
I never knew I'd get such pleasure
Whispering your name
If loving you keeps me alive
Then how can leaving me be right?
Turn back and let me love you
Stay with me and let us dance into the night

+Regan Spinks The whole musical is really Diet Phantom of the Opera. But yeah, James' voice is so rich that he NAILS it.
+Regan Spinks - And now he IS the Phantom! lol :)
wow this musical is really underrated. thanx
I just discovered this musical and I'm absolutely thrilled...
I don't know why, but this song reminds me more of Erik and Christine from PotO.
IreneShardaForever Frank Wildhorn mimics Andrew Llyod Webber. Any resemblance between Dracula and the Phantom of the Opera, is no coincidence.
Beatriz Alencar No, I think it's only because they both share the loss of their beloved muses (Sarah Brightman for Andrew Llyod Webber and Linda Eder for Frank Wildhorn).
This was a lot like phantom thats why I like it so much cus Huge phantom of the opera and Dracula fan .Spot on too was thinking the same .
dear god! incredible voice!!!!!!
Ugh this song is so gorgeous. Whenever I listen to this song, I always think of Luke Evans. Oh man, if they brought this musical back he would be the perfect Dracula 😍
Where's ALW at?? 🧐🤔
I'm here because of Junsu, but this version is so so so good!

this musical makes me so sad :(
Amazing voice as usual :)
I cry every time I hear this...
I wish we could get an english version with the new(ish) songs included in the German version - The Whitby Bay reprise trio song with Mina, Dracula and Jonathan... and the awesome "zu Ende" with Dracula and Van Helsing.

This is my first time listening to this.
I like this version too ^^
Dracula is Gothic Romances
I am crying right now.... WHY DO I DO THIS TO MYSELF!?!
Lol its a beautiful song !
There there... I know how you feel...😂
Loving you keeps me alive,
Think again before you leave me.
His love cannot be as true,
As the love I offer you.
You're wasting time pretending
You belong with him.
Come to your senses.
Loving you keeps me alive,
I'll be in your heart forever.
And you'll be a part of me,
From now ‘til eternity.
You've talked yourself into believing he's the one,
Such wild pretenses.
The first time I set eyes on you,
I knew I'd never be the same.
I never knew I'd get such pleasure
Whispering your name.
If loving you keeps me alive,
Then how can leaving me be right?
Turn back and let me love you.
Stay with me and let us dance into the night.
You are the one,
The only one,
To make me see,
The empty life I lead.
You are the love,
The only love,
I'll ever need.
The first time I set eyes on you,
I knew I'd never be the same.
I never knew I'd get such pleasure
Whispering your name.
If loving you keeps me alive
Then how can leaving me be right?
Turn back and let me love you,
Stay with me and let us dance into the night!
thank you
This song is so beautiful. It's too bad Dracula/Mina sickens me.
Ditto
Blind Justice-404 why does it sicken youu?? just want to know your thoughts :) Ive only just seen this recentlyy and the movie a few weeks back

Goodness... this song is the prettiest way to guilt trip someone lol :')))
This reminds me of Heathcliff and Cathy in Withering Heights :'(
Why is this the first time I've heard this?
this would make so much sense as a replacement for If I can't love her at the end of act 1 of Beauty and the Beast!
Or maybe after she leaves him later on....especially in the live action movie, that would have been so much more romantic!
Does anybody have sheet music for this song?
I have the original CD of the musical (German). Mr. Barbour's version.....Take your breath away that when you exhale, its better than s....
Yo where can I find a recording of this musical
Look, you need to look up the Korean version of this sung by Junsu (aka Xiah) - beats this version for sure!
Just looked at it, to me it doesn't come close to this. That guy sounds extremely breathy with lack of control of his vibrato. This guy nails absolutely everything. I appreciate that guys version though, he'd probably do well in the pop world.
Looked up the Korean version and it's absolutely terrible compared to this.
@Charlotte Pak Wait, James Barbour is a criminal? What did he do?
A great kpop singer doesn't always do well on musical😅, it demands different techniques
The English lyrics sound really awkward and cheesy to me.
This dude's voice is beaut though
How? Just curious
This makes other romantic songs look shit and it's not even that well known. Sigh
