    Yes!!! I was just trying to recreate something like this (referring help from cg matter's pixelation to dots tutorial) but couldn't get the ideal result... But this is perfect!!!!

    At 12:50, there actually is a Vector Rotate function, althought it is a separate node, so the same result could be achieved just plugging the random value of each cell to the angle amount.

    If you mix the rgb and random color of the cells using the alpha, you get that overlap problem on the last cell. If you use a greater than node and plug the a slot of the mix node into slot 1 of the greater than, and the b slot of the mix into slot 2 of the greater than, you can avoid that issue and end up with much cleaner overlap

    Great tutorial! yeah scattering always has been a tricky subject for nodes in blender. Do you know a good place to learn how to create custom nodes from python script? I mean, it's easy to find how to make a script to create a nodegroup but it's not to make a true custom node as you did.

    • @jonlampel
      @jonlampel 3 роки тому +1

      Well, this is still just a group node! It took me a little while to get used to how python handles nodes since none of the commands show up in the info editor, but once you learn the basic commands it's not too bad. If you search GitHub for Scattershot you can read through the code and see how connections are made with node_tree.links.new and all of that.
