    I have the reverse version (white light) of this.
    It also comes with 3 black wires with symbols on them.
    If you hold these 3 black wires facing you, the one on the left (with dots) is the ground wire. The one one the right (with dash) is the running light wire (in my case the reverse wire). The one in the middle (also dots), are the sequencial wire (the led flashes).

    This would be so amazing if gm did an f1 style brake light in the new c8 corvette specially turning on night time it would be so crazy and fantasy

    You should install it. Tint it to match the taillights but first you need to dissarm the f1 stoplight and seal it. It's not water proof.

      You are right, and it is most definitely not waterproof.

      I think you need to seal the cables too.

    I am working on a followup to this video where I am taking the $5 POS "F1" brake light and making it durable enough for actual use...and in the process, I broke one of the fragile little wires where they connect at the circuit board...which is what I was actually trying to avoid. So, I need to buy another one. Sooner or later, I will put up a video of my struggles to make a cheap-o ricey brake light actually durable and useful by putting more money and effort than what it is worth into it. No, I am not kidding. Yes, you will be surprised at how awesome it turns out. Did you subscribe yet? No? Do it now. I said NOW.

      My friend, yes it's nice.
      But if I can give u some advise.
      These aren't water proof you might want to seal the inside so that water rain won't get it..
      Cheers

    I don't see a reason why not to use this... strobe can be used for rear fog light, as I use it on my AR159 SW, and constant you can use as 4th brake light (I don't use it)
    But seal it with some silicone or else you will have a lot of water in it :)

    NOOOO!!! .....from a 2010 Z06 owner, do not do this! ...ricey... awful. Get a set of Eagle-Eye LEDs if you want to be seen, that light down there will not aid much in visibility.

    • @InJasonsGarage
      @InJasonsGarage  6 років тому

      Thanks for the fair input. I considered the Eagle-Eyes, and I know a lot of people like them but I don't personally. I think they look on the ricey side myself. Not sure what it is. I wouldn't dream of putting this cheap light on my Corvette if it didn't look like it was made for that spot. The location works for F1 cars, and the way I see it, the more warning to texting drivers I can provide that I am stopped the better. :) I am working on a follow-up video to this one...

    • @fivenineau
      @fivenineau 6 років тому

      @@InJasonsGarage Ok, I don't care for the Eagle eyes either...although they are definitely brighter. On F1 cars the light is there to indicate that the car is "harvesting" energy into the ERS. It is not a brake light. I get wanting to add visibility...maybe just an LED in the rear spoiler light?

    • @InJasonsGarage
      @InJasonsGarage  6 років тому

      @@fivenineau You made me dig deeper into this. :) This is kinda long, but I appreciate you jogging my curiosity. From what I read... "it's not when it is harvesting ERS. Otherwise it would flash from application of the brakes all the way through the braking phase to corner apex. It flashes at the end (or even in the middle depending on the mapping) of straights to indicate a 'de-rate', i.e. the electric part of the hybrid is no longer supplying power to the car. It is a warning that the acceleration rate will slow because 120kW (~160bhp or ~1/6 of the total power) is missing." Kinda neat.
      And per the F1 web site: www.formula1.com/en/championship/inside-f1/rules-regs/Safety_equipment.html
      "All cars must have a red light on the rear of the car in a specific location defined by the FIA regulations. The driver must be able to switch this light on at any time. This is usually done in poor weather conditions in order to make the car more visible to following drivers."
      So it is not really a "brake light", it is more of a "don't hit me" light, which serves my goal. :)
      Also, from the same site: www.formula1.com/en/championship/inside-f1/understanding-f1-racing/Energy_Recovery_Systems.html
      "For safety, each car is fitted with ERS status lights which warn marshals and mechanics of the car’s electrical safety status when it is stopped or in the pits. If the car is safe, the lights - which are situated on the roll hoop and the rear tail lamp - will glow green; if not, they glow red. The lights must remain on for 15 minutes after the power unit has been switched off."
      Either way, since my car won't be harvesting any energy any time soon, and since the spoiler already has a rear LED, and since I (embarrassingly) think it looks kinda good...
      Thanks again for the great thoughts and dialog!

    • @fivenineau
      @fivenineau 6 років тому

      @@InJasonsGarage Cool, good info. I am an F1 fan and honestly did not know that much about the current ERS and light on/off "rules". I remember it from the KERS days, but because of this discussion, I learned that F1 cars harvest energy from the exhaust gas heat as well as the brakes. Like you said, pretty neat! I guess you're going to put the light on...I'll reserve final judgement until I see it, although I confess I am cringing a bit, haha.
