I love arty back in the day QB I can manage to dealt massive damage abd one shot a tank 😂 bandong011 NA server I'm a Filipino player but now I don't play wot about 4 years just a little busy in life 😊
I started playing Jan 2013. One I remember most was the old Tier 2 tank destroyer the T18. Was an absolute OP monster. Sitting one side of the old Province map and one-shotting enemies over the other side!

I used to play this together with my father almost everyday back then. He died at 2013 last platoon game with him at the end august 2013. Im still playing until today and still got him in my friend list. He bought me Type 59 as my birthday gift... got him until today. Thanks for window of nostalgia :-) I miss these times very often. One time repair kit and also gold ammo was simply good.
Same and it never seems the same again. I even have a certain smell memorized still that would sometimes blow into my room from outside which I still really rarely smell somewhere else on a whim, when I do it takes me back instantly. Kind of makes me miss being young and having the time and will to play the same game for a whole day straight.
@@nanatzayathats a bit pf a stretch🤨🤨It doesnt have god tier armor. It was common back then for kv1s to contest a hill and trade -400 out of their 720 hit points
I started playing this game in December of 2012 with my dad, both of us still play together. I still remember my first big game, OG T18 tier 2 TD on Himmilsdorf...
There was a classic wot server i belive 2 years ago and it was so awesome. It was based on update 0.7.5, You couldn't log in to is it was packed with players. I don't play wot for a few years now because it simply sucks but on wot classic i spent every liitle time i had, it was so great
I played that game and a ton of players were just picking up arty 😂 and no surprise here. The 261 was.deadly accurate hitting you reliably with AP shells and HE rounds were hitting you for 1k damage pretty much in every maxed out artillery at the last tier available for you to play. MMs with 10 arties in each team were actually very common.
tbh i would love to go back to 2012 even though all of those graphics and quality of life changes. it was so fun back then. no gold ammo, no op premium tanks like bz-176, no awful map designs with rubbles aka hull-downs everywhere. so sad that this beautiful game is in this kinda state right now
Old WoT was incomparably better. Nowadays, the game has thousands of flaws: armor does not count because of gold ammunition, battles are short and one-sided, about 20 maps have been slightly removed (Stalingrad, Swamp, Komaryn, Mittengard, South Coast, Port, Northwest, Pearl River, Siewieerogorsk, Dragon Ridge , The Sacred Valley, The Hidden Village, The Whirlwind, Ruinberg in Winter, Ruinberg in Flames, Himmelsdorf in Winter, Himmelsdorf in Flames, Kharkov, Arch of Fire). In addition, their various main versions (not counting the atmospheric ones), of which Swamp was changed the most times (maybe even a dozen or so). Even the main variant versions of each of them, such as: snowy and standard Erlenberg, two Kharkov, Minsk, Holy Valleys, Siewerogorsky Pearl Rivers, Provinces, Marshes, Lakeville, snowy Himmelsdorf, etc. Someone "came up with the idea" of drawing the map itself first, and then its version. Additionally, a lot of tanks were nerfed (MTLS, KV-1S, IS-7, IS-4, Maus, KV-1 and KV-2, ISU152, T-50-2, Chaffie, VK 28.01., M4A3E2 (...)) and they are still being nerfed, earnings on premium tanks have been nerfed by 50% and tree tanks by 75%, MM has been broken, many interesting vehicles have been removed (SU-122-54, T18, (...)), and thousands of other flaws :( Unfortunately, from the beginning of 2014, WG began to massively destroy the game. In 2016/2017 it reached its apogee (entering the decline of the game), and for several years it has been agony :( It is possible that this disintegration has now entered another phase, which unfortunately cannot be named anymore :( This has caused thousands of defects that were once advantages (until the end of 2013, when WG was still improving the game). If WG actually still had room in the vaults, they would fix the game, earning many times more than now, and not ruin it like they have since the beginning of 2014. Meanwhile, not only do they not want to make money , they are trying to destroy the game, which directly affects them (which unfortunately they have not been aware of for over 8 years) :( Who wants to play a tragic game...
It would be nice to have WoT Classic. The game was so much better back then. Gold ammo was not required at all. I still refuse to use it and of course it affects my DPS but I will never use it. I don't agree that it's better today. It is far worse in fact.
@@Games20001 You are wrong on some things. Overall armor now is a lot better than it was back than, for example almost all mediums back then had paper turrets, even some heavies, like Maus easy pen in to the cheeks with std ammo, IS-4 roof overmatch, sure some tanks had stronger armor, like IS7, E100, but over all tanks were a lot easier to pen. second, in 2012 average battle length was shorter than it is now, idk where you people get this idea that games were longer when every game has low tier lights, and 3+ arties. Maps, I have to agree, were better than now, and tier 8 was playable
Would be neat to see a "Throwback Thursday" kind of thing where you show a tank in the original release and show it in it's current form, love these memory lane games for sure!
I miss 슨두부찌개(soondooboo-jjigae aka Mega Troll). He was famous on Korean servers as a professional ELC player. And the video commentary of his replay was the first QB video I saw. I think it's been almost 10 years already.
Was that the guy who only played ELC? When i saw the replay, he had around 30k games with that tank. Insane... I remember a player named BAAAM!! or something like that. I met him on the battlefield couple of times, and he always carried the games single handedly with his IS-7.
I miss the old days... Back then, arty could fire AP shells. I, who admired the Obj261 at the time, worked hard to develop the soviet arty tree as F2P beginner. Just when I was about to finally get the Obj261, an announcement was made about changes to arty. I continued to develop rapidly, but unfortunately, I didn't make it in time. I welcomed the Obj261 to my garage, which was only able to fire pathetic HE shells, and I retrained the veteran crews of the 212A, and took it into battle... I fired the main gun of the Obj261, which I had long admired. It inflicted a strange debuff on enemy tanks and showed a minimal amount of damage... it made me incredibly sad. The most miserable memory I have of playing World of Tanks.
Another thing from 2012 that didn't get mentioned was that if you lost both tracks, you'd still remain tracked, because your repair kit only would fix the most damaged one.
As soon as I seen the T-50-2, the EBR of the glory days of WoT, it was an awesome way to play top tier battles as a noob racing around impervious to the gunfire, it was a sunzu trick tank, In order to be shot the enemy had to fire not at you but where you would be in not one but two moves of the chess board, it has to be the all time dodge master in this game, ahh fond memories. I wish WG would do a journey back in time event and let us play WoT how it was back then, that would be fun as heck, 5-7 1 shot artys a bunch of untouchable T-50-2 racing around, and unspottable red line Td's with light tank camo rating....ooh the good old days...
I had 2000 games in my t-50-2 in 2013. When I started playing again a few months ago it was changed into a mt-25. I feel betrayed. Its a snail compared to the mighty t-50-2.
god this era was a trip. some memories that lives rent free in my mind is the scare factor of those wolfpack platoons of bat-chats and T-54s. and SPGs can one hit IS-7s
This is interesting as it shows how RNG has been ramped up massively over the years. This shows a lots less module damage, a game which lasts longer than the initial countdown. In some ways I miss it, but equally understand a game needs to continue to evolve to still be relevant in the market.
I started playing WoT in June 2012 after my grandpa showed me the game after making his account somewhere in april or early may. As a 2.3k wn8 player I've been on a prolonged "break" from WoT since 2019, rarely ever returning for a wee bit. However, my grandpa has managed to put in around 80k, maybe 90 now(?) games of tanking where I was able to play about 22k. At this point, even my grandpa who is an absolute tomato at 350 or something wn8 has lost his fun in the game and I've seen him progressively lose the fun he had back when we started. It sucks. It came to the point where he has started trying out WT, WoW, WoWP but they don't really stick. He's 81 now and have always respected him being bad for 80k games straight but still having a blast. I've tried teaching him things along the way but well, the older you become the harder it gets to learn new things. I just hope he'd be able to keep on tanking with a smile on his face and not lose it to WG.
This was before the nerf of earns (in one update from 2012/2013) on premium tanks by 50% and techtree tanks by 75%. Back then, you could even earn money in IX and X, and after the nerf, only V and VI :(
Yeah, I remember gaining around 30k per battle with the tier 5 tech tree M4 sherman without premium account. Then that damn patch happened and progress became so slow that I ended up abandoning the game in 2013. Since then I returned on occasion around christmas or easter when there were huge bonuses for f2p players, but never stuck around for more than a few weeks.
Yeah i kinda miss the old WoT.... Played with friends.. the good old B-C 25t platoons....3-man Arty platoons.... Trolling your friends with friendly fire (tracking them)...the good old "Team-Training"-Lobbies where u were just racing with fast tanks, exploring maps, bugs etc.... What you missed in the video: - how light tanks where played... when u were a tier 5 light (Chaffe or T-50-2 ) in tier 10 battles - it was possible to get 5 arties PER TEAM! - Map scaling was different --> Lights and med tanks felt soo much quicker than now. - you had to skill the 6th Sense ability to 100% before you could use it...
Yes, great times...maybe you'll find an old video with the KV (Tier 5 with 107mm or 152mm), KV 3 at Tier 6 or with the PZIV with long 75mm and Schmalturm at Tier 5? My 3 favourite tanks at that time...
Oh god, you just unlocked a core memory for me. That thing was so OP at tier 5. Had so much fun in it. Not so fun for the tanks at my tier, or god forbid one or two tiers below. Insane pen, decent rate of fire, damage so high it often one shot opponents and great armour. This tank had it all. Then again, the matchmaker back then was fucked, so you could face opponents of a much higher tier, especially with a heavy. A tier 5 heavy could be uptiered all the way up to tier 9!
I was part of the swedish contingency in Afghanistan i. 2012 when i discovered quicky. Sat in a welfare tent on terrible internet watching clips from a game I'd never played. I hop on and off wot, months go by without playing. But i always seem to find myself watching you. Thanks for the years of entertainment.
I do indeed believe this was better. The big improvements from here would be more tanks and the removal of the class-based MM (getting "scout" MM for the first time at tier IV was terrifying) but while WoT looks a lot better graphically, it has become miserable to play. The faster gameplay, premiums, and widely available gold all make it miserably unforgiving to a mediocre player, and I'm mostly still here due to a decade of sunk-cost fallacy.
lol -- I have 6 years of sunk-cost fallacy, though my playing time is a fraction of what it was. I did eventually give up trying to play above T7. By the time I started playing ('17), the only way you could afford to play T8-10 was either being pretty decently skilled, or PtW, or both, and I was neither.
@@matrobnew Hah - I very much sympathise with "no play over 7" myself. Years ago now I recognized I couldn't afford tier 10 battles, so I set a bunch of personal goal tanks at tier 8 - where I could just about break even. Skip a few years and now the Pershing shares a tier with the WZ-176, and I'm starting to abandon those one-time goal tanks for tier 5 instead.
man i still remember grinding my tiger II before wot 1.0 dropped, had found recently a clan, made some friends but, all that was so short lived, i sat there and patch after patch i started to see the green lights on the clan tab slowly turn all dark, until there was left only me, and like other 5 or 6 clan mates. today i fulfilled my aim of grabbing all the german tier 10 tanks, and i have almost the whole german tech tree. only playing on mid tier on weekends. still feels bitter.
no to mention the game became even more pay to win then it was back then. now matches are rigged so that paying players win waaay more often than free to play players
Hello, Quickybaby. I began playing WoT on 15.9.2012 and when I played it for the first time I had a real blast. Looking at the old vids I was also reminded of the battles and achievments I personally made. The big win I made back when I had just 1400 battles in my profile - my first Radley walters medal with a crucial contribution. And it was achieved with M10 american TD. I was the last man standing against 4 oponents and still made it. And there were more later. But I can't share them here. I stopped playing WoT on 8.8.2016. Officially retired.
This sure does bring back so many good memories from 2011. I couldn't wait to get home from school with my friends to play. Driving faster tanks and circling TDs, doing climbs that defy physics, such as the mines mountain one, or perhaps the bugging into buildings to pass through / fly away stuff, will always remain an amazing memory forever. Oh yeah and let's forget that the battles lasted longer, due to everyone being incapable of aiming properly on them potato PCs haha. Anyways, thank you for all your hard work QB, loved to watch your content in 2013 and still do to this day.❤️ Take care.
Enemy chat, team damage on, not just being able to track them. Physics not found! It was such a wildly different game in many aspects. There are things that unfortunately didn't change, how your teammates can sometimes be toxic. Fighting against people spamming gold instead of trying to learn to aim. Arty having so little areas on the maps where you are actually safe from them. It's funny to see what changes and what doesn't. I think what I miss the most though is... how many maps got removed. I understand that the balance wasn't there, but nowadays it feels like you're always getting the same three or four maps during a session... With very little variety. Heck, I had some days where I got the same map and same side twice to three times within the space of like five matches
About 20 maps have been slightly removed (Stalingrad, Swamp, Komaryn, Mittengard, South Coast, Port, Northwest, Pearl River, Siewieerogorsk, Dragon Ridge , The Sacred Valley, The Hidden Village, The Whirlwind, Ruinberg in Winter, Ruinberg in Flames, Himmelsdorf in Winter, Himmelsdorf in Flames, Kharkov, Arch of Fire).
Yep and I know team damage could be abused but it added bit of realism to the game, also it was fun to be able to chat to the enemies. It was also useful if your team had 1 arty left and enemy had like 10 players alive, it would make sense to tell his location so you can go next battle. And yeah I liked pretty much all the maps that were removed. Too bad it's all gone now. Well we had our fun. Now I'm just waiting for steel aces :) Maybe it will be actually a good tank game. Which wot isn't anymore.
I miss the fact people weren't spaming gold rounds, the fact you didn't have pay to win tanks and the fact the games actually lasted more than 5/10 minutes... I stopped playing WoT a long time ago and always come back to it, but after short time I just uninstall it. I hate that feeling. The game was so special to me.
Can you feature some of the removed maps? Such as Swamp, Sacred Valley, Hidden Village, Dragon Ridge and my fav, South Coast. Sooo many great maps they could return.
Danm 2012 is the same year I first joined. Learned about it when my family and I went to a hobby convention and they had a real-life tank with the game set up to where you could play in Chicago. I was 12 years old and my brothers and I kept going back to play.
been playing since 2010 as a Beta testor and i remember all of that.. I feared the Bat Crap back then, now u don't see it in game that much. Great Video
Th golden age of this game! Getting back from school on a Friday afternoon and being excited to play World of Tanks on my crappy computer, oh the nostalgia!
No matter what anyone will say, think, discuss, we all gotta admit one thing - QB is producing an amazing content, with so much effort and thought to deliver stuff that all of us can use and learn from. I love the time around Christmas and NY when we get selection of whole lot of these videos. Thank you, QB, you are undisputed king of WOT content!
Watching this makes me long for the old days of WoT (even though I played on Console rather than PC). The game just felt so much more fun back then. Now it just feels like a rage-inducing grindfest that, for all intents and purposes, has become a purely pay-to-win game if a player wants to remain competitive. It's just getting sad at this point.
Same I've played console wot since it released left after the mbt were released, good game gone to waste due to greed and an update literally noone in wot console community wanted
Trip down memory lane indeed. It was quite unique back then; many stock tanks, crew voices, shell sounds, etc were interesting. Thanks QB for the content. Please keep those old replays to make videos like this in the future.
Yeah, we need to see a battle from the worst patch. Can't remember which one exactly it was, but there was like 12 or even 13 artillery PER TEAM. It was just so profitable and easy to do good in them, so everyone spammed them like crazy until there was nothing left but artillery spammers.
Yep. I always shuckle a bit when I see players complain about 2 SPGs each side in my games. Back then you could have 7 SPGs on each side and they could totally obliterate you x)
@@bengallego9943 Yep, stuff like that was wild. Matchmaking was up to +4 but even more for Light Tanks. I also remember the KV-1 which was only the KV back then. And it had the option of using the Derp Gun of the (now) KV-2 and many players used it because they could get into Tier 9-Games with the KV and it was the only option to do some damage then. x)
I started playing in 2012. So much has changed since then. I don't play much these days, The pace of the game is a little faster than I can keep up with these days. I got old. I still enjoy watching your terrible content and try not to miss a video. I love that you still have such a passion for the game. Some good old school light tank play from back in the day would be great to see.
Yup. Those were the glory days. Had WG just nerfed arty into oblivion back then, it would be the perfect game. Skill mattered more than premium rounds, as very few people was crazy enough to load gold. P2W tanks were rarely a thing (I don't even remember a single one). Medium tanks could circle troll heavy tanks. Maps had more routes to attack. Yes, this game was far superior.
It may have not been as good as now but I LOVED it MORE!! The cross team chat was hilarious and (I hate myself) I occasionally sought the self gratification of destroying a team mate who was annoying or....? I don't know if it was tier II then but the T3 HMC was a seal clubber extraordinaire before it was nerfed out of existence!! If you had a video of an epic T3 HMC game I, for one, would LOVE to see it! Thanks for the nostalgic trip down memory lane QB! :)
This was my prime time in WoT. Started 2011, took a break around 2015 (not sure?) and never really came back when a lot of changes arrived in the meantime. Loved it when they gave you free tanks and slots back then, with the KV splitting, and the T30 and T34 splitting up.
I remember getting home from middle school back in the day just to enjoy some world of tanks on my terrible laptop. Back in the day when i would hope my mom would go out to do some Yoga on a friday evening so I could stand behind my dads chair in the dining room and watch him play world of tanks. We used to platoon, and still do! I still love this game even after about 8 years of playing it. I was never really that good but since about a year or 2 now ive been able to use my brain to play this game and improve, but most importantly, have fun!
Good old OP tanks: T6 KV-1S with 175pen 390dmg 122mm, T6 Hellcat, T10 Foch 155, T3 SU-26 with 360 turret and high gun arc, T2 T18, T5 KV. Actually the Hellcat line T5 T49, T4 M8A1 are also very good. Not so OP but I loved: T5 ELC AMX with 90mm, T8 ISU-152 with 286pen 850dmg BL-10, T5 VK281, T5 T-50-2, T6 vk36.01 with 225 gold pen konisch. God I miss my Hellcat, ISU-152, SU-26 so much...
The glory days of WoT was before all the extra stuff got added. The simpler gameplay with limited gold rounds and very few premium tanks. The game was purely for the fun of it and less about the business.
A majority of the matches I've played was during this era, now that I've come back to the game I had to adapt to the current era and leave behind some of the old things I did know
I recently came back to the game also mostly played this era and wow its so different. There's entire countries now I never seen. There used to be 3 countries. Lol
Oh man, this was great. I haven't seen any QB videos on my feed in a while, and I haven't played in a few years. These were definitely the golden days. I still remember when I got the mt25 (I believe) the teir 6 russian light tank and absolutely bombing it through the battlefield with teir 9 tanks. They were quicker than most people could scroll / fps was nowhere as high as it is today. So I would be in frame for a second or two and then get away before people had time to react. Those were the days.
Gosh what a great time back then! I do still remember one of my most crazy games with a M41 HMC, fighting alone against 6 Tanks and killing the capping enemys with blind shots in the cap and winning the game with a total of 8 kills. What good times that where back then.. Thanks for the nostalgic round @QuickyBaby
What I would give to return to the old days. This was THE EXPERIENCE of WoT and its very sad to see what happened to the game as time went on. God I miss when I knew every tank on the battlefield.
I started playing in 2013, version 0.8.3 if I recall correctly. I remember playing Russian light tanks going through the BT-2 and BT-7, and it was fine. But when I upgraded to the A-20 at tier 4, I was placed in a battle against Löwe and Tiger II. That confused the hell out of me. I remember thinking "what the heck can I do against those with this little pop gun?" I quickly found out that light tanks at tier 4 and up had special matchmaking and could meet up to tier 8. This made me avoid light tanks as the plague.
Hey QB, thank you so much for uploading this trip to memory lane! I started since 2011 but finally quit in 2021. The grief moments of arty one shotting you, the tier 5 T-50-2 and old tier 5 Chaffee, tier 6 KV-1S, those were the days! Back in those days the only way to get premium ammo is to buy them using gold, not credits. Type 59s were seen as the best MT but where is it standing now in the meta after being the most nerfed tank? And those players having Type 59 Gold in CN server were always team killed and friendly fired. Ahaha... Did anyone forget arty back then has ridiculously long reload and aim times, as well as having AP rounds that can kill an IS-7 in 1 shot? MoE wasn't even a thing back then, but look at the current situation now. In ASIA server, TD scout (especially Strv 103B with optics) is actually a thing just to get extra assist damage for the marks (That is also how I got Strv 103B and WZ-113G FT's 3MoE). The thing that really irked me is the removal of Object 263B and Object 430B. FV215B HT & TD, and Foch 155 got converted to premium tanks. But Tier 10 Object 263 got removed. And for clan wars, the first reward tank is the IS-5 then the T23E3. Those days were fun, the nostalgia...
Why??? From the beginning of 2014, WG began to massively destroy the game. In 2016/2017 reached its apogee (entering the decline period of the game), from several years of agony :( It is possible that this disintegration has occurred now into the next phase, which unfortunately cannot be named :( This caused thousands of disadvantages that were once advantages (until the end of 2013 when WG was still improving the game).
Nice to see some old times footage. I came in later but recall some of the crazy things back then. Being a T-50 zipping around tier 8s and avoiding getting crunched by them.
i remember the arty highest tier was tier 7, highest TDs were tier 8, meds tier 9. and of course the 5 tier spread on MM. And playing alongside you in FILO (mechbott here)
You can also see platoons made from different tier vehicles. I haven't played the game since 2012 and had recently returned and that one surprised me a bit, because now we all have to play the same tier.
Good, seeing 2/3 tier 1s on your team was extremely frustrating. Wouldn't have cared if they made it so the other team would have to match, but it needed to go.
@@ICCUWANSIUT that id understand but im talking about something like a t8 with a t9 or t7. We still get matched with those so should’ve been fine if they r from the same platoon. Now we kinda have to not play what we want to altought t8 and 9 are perfectly fine for a party
to be honest repair kit and crew healing should be removed and crew replacement should only be allowed at spawn/strategic points meanwhile repair should take a lotta time
The game back then may was a lot worse, without many useful features, but the battle experience was better by a lot! NO EBRs running and turning like ufo, NO impenetrable toxic tanks, NO 1-15 battles that often... Also, back then, more opportunities for snipping, not so many corridor maps... Arty was a plague though, but a lot more fun to play with arty as well
As for the name of the IS-8, it was changed from IS-8 to T-10 most likely to fit in historically, in real life the IS-8 was a successor to the IS-7 being more modern, gaining a stabiliser and modern ammunition like APDS and HEAT-FS, however these changes don't really carry over into WoT, so the IS-7 is the better vehicle. The "IS" leading the name means 'Iosif Stalin', which is why sometimes the tanks are referred to as "JS-X", using the English spelling of Joseph Stalin. After Stalin's death, the IS-8s name was changed to T-10 to change to the more conformal T series names that had already been used.
What do you miss? What did I MISS in this video? What other old school tanks, that were nerfed, do you want to see featured on youtube this month!!!

Anyone notice that at 0:45 QB had to go around the tank traps rather than plow over them unharmed? they just became a visual novelty in modern WoT.
Good spot, pre 8.0 there was no physics so you couldn't go over edges!
oh yeah, i got stuck so many times :D
Ahhh was it a later patch when you could drive over but they would track you?@@QuickyBabyTV
@@ben9136 They never tracked you, you'd just get stuck on them due to lack of physics.
oh, the fear of getting stucked is still present :D
Watching vintage WOT has become a low key Christmas tradition for me. Lots of good times early in my PC gaming career.
Same and it never seems the same again. I even have a certain smell memorized still that would sometimes blow into my room from outside which I still really rarely smell somewhere else on a whim, when I do it takes me back instantly. Kind of makes me miss being young and having the time and will to play the same game for a whole day straight.
Yes I miss that WoT, that was WoT, man. Enemy chat. No gold rounds. KV1-S. The maps where actually better. Maus, E100, IS7..... oh man.
I loved the KV-1S but this thing was completely OP. Probably even worse than the 279(e) today.
But must importantly, it was fun. 🥹
And actually weakspots that meant Something
@@nanatzayathats a bit pf a stretch🤨🤨It doesnt have god tier armor. It was common back then for kv1s to contest a hill and trade -400 out of their 720 hit points
its not that the maps were better, its the tanks that were oh so different
I started playing this game in December of 2012 with my dad, both of us still play together. I still remember my first big game, OG T18 tier 2 TD on Himmilsdorf...
October of 2012 for me.
Yeah the old Himmelsdorf map.
Also I really wish there was a legacy server where you could play and it looked and sounded like this
There was a classic wot server i belive 2 years ago and it was so awesome. It was based on update 0.7.5, You couldn't log in to is it was packed with players. I don't play wot for a few years now because it simply sucks but on wot classic i spent every liitle time i had, it was so great
^what was it called?@@misiek_pmt
@@misiek_pmt I still like wot now but an old version would be fun. I didnt even play wot until 2014 and that was on xbox but i miss the nostalgia
I too :) The same :) It was in 2019 and will be in future. From 10.01.2023 exist some similar, so Old of Tanks.
tbh i would love to go back to 2012 even though all of those graphics and quality of life changes. it was so fun back then. no gold ammo, no op premium tanks like bz-176, no awful map designs with rubbles aka hull-downs everywhere. so sad that this beautiful game is in this kinda state right now
Old WoT was incomparably better.
Tier 5 playing tier 10. No thanks.
There literally was gold ammo, E-25
there were plenty of op tanks
This would be awesome
I miss 슨두부찌개(soondooboo-jjigae aka Mega Troll).
He was famous on Korean servers as a professional ELC player.
And the video commentary of his replay was the first QB video I saw.
I think it's been almost 10 years already.
haha so true, does he still play wot?
Was that the guy who only played ELC?
When i saw the replay, he had around 30k games with that tank. Insane...
I remember a player named BAAAM!! or something like that. I met him on the battlefield couple of times, and he always carried the games single handedly with his IS-7.
@@CodySKETCH unfortunately, nobody knows. :(
I miss the old days...
As a filthy clicker myself, i am happy with the current arty change. 1k+ damage in each shot was nasty.
@@Todsor Over 2000.
Another thing from 2012 that didn't get mentioned was that if you lost both tracks, you'd still remain tracked, because your repair kit only would fix the most damaged one.
anime should be banned
As soon as I seen the T-50-2, the EBR of the glory days of WoT, it was an awesome way to play top tier battles as a noob racing around impervious to the gunfire, it was a sunzu trick tank, In order to be shot the enemy had to fire not at you but where you would be in not one but two moves of the chess board, it has to be the all time dodge master in this game, ahh fond memories.
I wish WG would do a journey back in time event and let us play WoT how it was back then, that would be fun as heck, 5-7 1 shot artys a bunch of untouchable T-50-2 racing around, and unspottable red line Td's with light tank camo rating....ooh the good old days...
too :) The same :) It was in 2019 and will be in future. From 10.01.2023 exist some similar, so Old of Tanks.
As an avid Arty player I hated the T-50-2 :D
I had 2000 games in my t-50-2 in 2013. When I started playing again a few months ago it was changed into a mt-25. I feel betrayed. Its a snail compared to the mighty t-50-2.
The pace was just so much slower. I miss it sometimes.
I would love to see the elc amx. I loved playing this tank against Tier X.
was the tactitian of the ELC-P clan, we went in with only ELC and crushd it with the wolfpack tactic^^
ELC was a great tank!! Loved it soo much before it got nerfed. Got my 3 marks on it back then.
@@MrJamesguy1 I loved it so much I got 10k games only with elc lol, I almost cried when it got nerfed.
@nenadpopov3601 my father nearly stopped playing after the vk.28.01 and the amx nerf, I remember it since I was a lil kiddo 😂
@@Depressed_until_dead Lol.
god this era was a trip. some memories that lives rent free in my mind is the scare factor of those wolfpack platoons of bat-chats and T-54s. and SPGs can one hit IS-7s
Since then I returned on occasion around christmas or easter when there were huge bonuses for f2p players, but never stuck around for more than a few weeks.
yep then they started making op pay to win tanks like type 59 and super pershing, everything went down hill there
The smoke from firing lasts a lot longer in this version. Looks awesome.
Flying bullets was visible too. Actually we take invisible bullets :(
@@Games20001you can still see the shells they just don't leave a tron trail xd.
What you missed in the video:
- how light tanks where played... when u were a tier 5 light (Chaffe or T-50-2 ) in tier 10 battles
- it was possible to get 5 arties PER TEAM!
The 3601H with the conical gun!
At the time I never had the KVs but the Pz IV was definitely amazing
2013 T-95 with damaged engine and tracks couldn't turn around on an incline. So much fun 😄
In addition, their various main versions (not counting the atmospheric ones), of which Swamp was changed the most times (maybe even a dozen or so). @@Games20001honestly Stalingrad was a good removal, it was so geared towards armor I can't even imagine it now. It was terrible in a lighter tank.
This is my favourite QB WoT serie. Nostalgia grows as you keep up with an awesome work !
I love it how there was all chat, one of the enemies said "kamikaze spg"
Great Video
I remembered my friends telling me they added a tank who could fire multiple shots. I was amazed. It was very OP. Now its not so good anymore
He is WG sellout
Love these videos QB!
More to come!
2012 WoT was fun. It was challenging. It required that players cooperate and think ahead.
Brings back great memories 🎉❤
Trip down memory lane indeed. It was quite unique back then; many stock tanks, crew voices, shell sounds, etc were interesting. Thanks QB for the content. Please keep those old replays to make videos like this in the future.
Id love to see an "arty before it was nerfed" sort of episode. Before they went to tier 10
Yeah, we need to see a battle from the worst patch. Can't remember which one exactly it was, but there was like 12 or even 13 artillery PER TEAM. It was just so profitable and easy to do good in them, so everyone spammed them like crazy until there was nothing left but artillery spammers.
i like how you talk about this like most people watching havent played during that time
Back in the day when spgs can one shot any tanks they see 😂
Yep. I always shuckle a bit when I see players complain about 2 SPGs each side in my games. Back then you could have 7 SPGs on each side and they could totally obliterate you x)
@@AvenFallen how about i played a chaffee and i landed in a tier 10 game? 🤣

Those were the days QB,I still miss them. Ty for bringing the old days of WoT back. GL ❤
The big smoke ploom after shooting is pretty realistic and really cool imo, i'd love to see that return even if its optional
I think the game was better back then. 2013/14 was the time WoT peaked imho.
That was literally the same month I started playing WoT. Game sure has changed a lot over the years.
Thanks for the video QB! Miss those days!
No mention to the tier V light tank is criminal xD
Hey QB I haven't played for a while but it's nice to see that you're still making videos.
I was never really that good but since about a year or 2 now ive been able to use my brain to play this game and improve, but most importantly, have fun!
love the videos of WoT back in the day. I started in 2013 and it's always fun seeing gameplay from around that period.
I made account at june 2011 and played for almost 5 years. Then I gave the account. Game became p2w . Loved playing with S-51 arty

Actually the Hellcat line T5 T49, T4 M8A1 are also very good.
Not so OP but I loved:
T5 ELC AMX with 90mm, T8 ISU-152 with 286pen 850dmg BL-10, T5 VK281, T5 T-50-2, T6 vk36.01 with 225 gold pen konisch.
God I miss my Hellcat, ISU-152, SU-26 so much...
OP = too good. In old game was almost only good tanks and very good tanks, so every tanks were balanced.
Lol
I was in the third grade of primary school when I started playing WoT in 2013 … This vid brings so much nostalgia. Thank you Quicky❤😢
I started playing in 2014, it was glorious, not worth playing since long time ago, but what a great memories of when it was worth it.
Arty was SO scary back then.
Did you notice at 4:40 the penetration of those HEATs? 400mm is savage even today, back then IT was going throught everything like nothing.
If WOT existed during my PhD I would never have completed it….
What I would give to return to the old days. This was THE EXPERIENCE of WoT and its very sad to see what happened to the game as time went on. God I miss when I knew every tank on the battlefield.
QB: How fast did it take you to get to the top tiers? 2012 and already in T10. Would love to see a series of how you progressed up the the tiers.
I think I had T10s in 2011! Multiples in 2012!
This was the version that I first played. Thanks for the nostalgic upload.
I remember thinking "what the heck can I do against those with this little pop gun?"
I quickly found out that light tanks at tier 4 and up had special matchmaking and could meet up to tier 8. This made me avoid light tanks as the plague.
So when I penetration FCM 40t by my A-20 with gold bullet, I was very funny :)
If there's one thing I miss, it's the old gun sounds for the 150+ mm cannons. The sound was just so satisfying.
I miss those times :(
Ironically, this was the time when WOT was actually REALISTIC in terms of gameplay. Less so in graphics haha
That minimap looks so much better. The colors and the 3D effect make it much easier to read.
This was when i first started playing WOT, still never forget getting the T29 for the first time. That thing was a beast back in 2012
Fantastic video. Playing WoT since 2011, today it's the way better game totally agree. Greetings from Germany :-)
i started playing patch 7.3. ive quit the game early 2021. i still watch your videos but i really miss the old wot, 2012-2014 were the best years
Beautiful old days , thank you QB for bringing some old memories
Nice to see some old times footage.
I came in later but recall some of the crazy things back then.
Being a T-50 zipping around tier 8s and avoiding getting crunched by them.
The old Gunsounds... QB thank You Bud, for bringing back, Memorys out of the good old Wot Time! 💪🏻
Thx, that look back made me smile.
i also played this game since september 2012 lol.. hi QB. from one of your fellow tanker from the past
i remember the arty highest tier was tier 7, highest TDs were tier 8, meds tier 9. and of course the 5 tier spread on MM.
After Stalin's death, the IS-8s name was changed to T-10 to change to the more conformal T series names that had already been used.
but why T-10? i know tanks like T-34 and T-54 are named that because thats the year they were first designed, and T-10 definitely wasnt made in 1910
@@moltensh4dow506 Unlike the other tanks, the T-10 was named with the number 10 as it was the 10th Soviet HT to enter service
And it was a great time till patch 0.8.6, wiyh the 'general accuracy nerf'
9:30 I believe it was called *GW Typ E* instead of GW E -100 back in the days 🤔
