@ydurruk5262 There are currently over 40 maps in the game - that fact surprised me recently. The problem is not the number of maps, but rather the feeling you have after 15-30-60k battles.

Couldn't agree more with you QB! Random events next to them being visually appealing at first instance, turn very quickly into these scenarios where a oportunistic player simply holds back untill the event happens. One might say it's a skillful move, sure but I think WG shouldn't have implemented in a way where you clearly find the implication of the event targeting towards an accelaration of the match by creating another flank. This may sound weird but I think it would be way more interesting if the event was far bigger in scale, causing the entire map to change. That would create a new scenario for everyone, possibly turning the tides and if done well, extend the duration of the match.
I see this as an absolute positive thing overall. As a free-to-play player nothing is more demoralising than all of these heavy tank maps having super strong hulldown tanks that can just sit in one position and farm. Always love when wargaming allows for new ways to outplay and flank those poorly balanced heavy tanks. Even if it may come at making the games even faster, sad as that is, i feel like it makes for a better experience for the f2p player overall. Saves me a bunch of those gold ammo that i usually won't hit anyways and definitely can't afford either way.
What ruins WoT is more that Wargaming constantly put the experienced players in one team and all the noobs with only one platoon of 2-3 experienced players on the other team. And as soon as the Christmas boxes arrives, "everyone" suddenly want to play WoT, also all the players that hardly ever play the game, making this problem 10 times worse. So first week of December you end up with 20% win, or over 70%, depending on being on the "red" team or not. The exact same happened the first week of December last year, and before that. After about 2 weeks things goes back to "normal". WG need to understand that this game is not fun when a round ends with loosing 0-15 or 1-15, and it is also not fun to win 15-0 or 15-1. It is time WG logs these games and find a way to improve this ugly MM code (matchmaking) to avoid these quick and ugly "One team totally raping the other team" games. If not, WoT will only be for the hardcore few players.
Games with a META (in WOT's case the predetermined positions for each tank class), get stale and boring and very non-beginner friendly, once that meta settles in. An element of randomness is needed to even the field a bit, that's why battle royales are so liked, you feel like you always have a chance, either to lose or to get screwed.
I don’t think these events are necessarily bad but, on the smaller city maps I dont think they have a positive impact. The smaller maps rarely, if ever become draws and these events are just causing shorter games, which I hate. On the larger maps these definitely have a positive impact as the cover they provide as you have said can break the stalemates that end up in draws.
IMO they could just ad the maps with the "evolution" into the map rotation. You could have 1 himmel with the zeppelin down and 1 himmel without it. I don't like the idea of the map changing at the middle of the game.
Nah dude, for me there are 3 main problem in WOT. 1.Stupid map design especially exclusive corridor design for HT or heavily armored tanks 2.OP tanks, its a plague that getting worse since they introduced Pz.58 Mutz. 3.HE mechanic changes, clearly this move only meant to please braindead HT and encourage to spit more gold rounds You can add arty if you wish
I think this would work better if the random events were truly random not a game to game basis but in map basis ie the same match can have different changes happen every match so the battle field changes from one match to the next
So far I haven't been close to the actual event when happen. He always catch me on the other side of the map, so I didn't even notice him many times. But what you are asking for, namely that they appear only at a possible "draw", that would no longer be "random event" but "sudden death", as it was in games like Worms Fortress: Under Siege for example. 😋
There's also the fact that the events happen in the last few minutes of games too. Sure some of them happen earlier but that's why it's called "Random events" but it will def be help in stalemates that happen in longer term games. I think they're doing good with it and it will be cool to see more of them in different maps. We'll see what happens
Random events should be without any warning, since before they happen there are many sounds that alert you, like the planes in Ruinberg, personally I think it takes away a little of the randomness if they warn you before. They are a good change, and can do great things.
I think the reason why people hate spgs was because of how sudden it is. So a little warning though breaking immersion, seems more welcoming. I personally prefer no alarm at all, just get randomly crushed or sth seems really fun to me
The random events are amazing i am rooting for more Maps and also i hope the Timing where they happen ir should be random. Can be early or not. That means variety. It also can never happen. Absolutely love it
People have complained since 2011 that randomness is not that fun of a game mechanic. It seems in 2024, randomness still isn't that fun of a game mechanic. Who would have thought.
Hear me out, remove premium ammo. Let heavies use good hull down posistions for a little bit. Have a random event occur and make the posistion flankable for mediums. Would slow the game down a bit due to not being able to penn heavies on good spot. All the great ones are not penable rn anyways when hull down. But this could give a mouse or td with armor opportunities. But have the map be their counter as an side shot will pen ofc.
My question is if one person in every game you play has it Turned OFF in settings does that mean the players that want it will NEVER see it. Or will MM become involved and only pair you up with players that want it (assuming you have it checked in settings) and then it pollutes the MM's current algorithm.
Great idea. And not that difficult to implememt. Theoretically they could also implement secondary armaments on tanks like AA or Anti-Inf MGs which could counter these to a degree
I would just like them to be unpredictable with no prior warning other than maybe the sounds of the aircraft coming in. Pay attention to the skies and be ready to run if need be, otherwise oh well
So many ways to adjust the maps from one battle to the next, a new bush here, an old one gone there, an object arriving, or disappearing, from one battle to the next. This can remove/create fire points and routes, removing op positions, weakening screening bushes, and so on, creating more variety within maps.
I have a clanmate who is a war veteran. He loved the idea of random events as it simulates the randomness of war better, however also suggested that the random events be way smaller and more plentiful. Examples of these would be on Prokhorvka, where a plane coded in the game dives and drops a bomb on a random place on the map. Minefields could also be randomly laid around the maps. I honestly think that the random events were not a bad idea, but I also agree with my clan member stating that they could be smaller and more frequent. Have a good day everyone!
I had that one battle on Himmelsdorf where a BZ-58 where hit sit at the blimp position and gets instantly one shot so it doesn't destroy the game it adds in humor in it ....
I think random events really kill Prokharovkha for Lights, since the plane kills and destroys the bush line, making pushing through borderline impossible, and forcing lights to push early and risking a lot.
IMO these events make the game more enjoyable for the casual players, like myself. I sometimes don’t have the time or energy after a long day to sit on Himmelz in a stalemate however I can see these changing the way/meta WoT is played
I was on the safe haven map when three T-29 heavy tanks at full health were destroyed by the random event. We were losing before that happened. What a crazy swing of advantage that was.
I only have seen the random event on Prokhorovka so far, with the 4 planes crashlanding from AA fire, and it was really interesting to see it making new cover and changing how spotting and engagements there is going.
I love having a dynamic map. Getting rid of those frustrating bottlenecks was great. It’s either that, or get rid of the map, or just introduce the map change from the beginning with no special visual sequence.
Game balance being tied to economy(gold rounds), microtransactions focused on selling overpowered tanks and not cosmetics, ever increasing introduction of systems that increase disparity between new and experienced players. TLDR pay to win ruins world of tanks and makes people not take this game seriously.
My first experience with the random events was on himmelsdorf and I was on the hill at the point of the castle. Suddenly look to my left and there's a whole BLIMP coming towards me. Needless to say, I needed a change of pants after that.
It'd be cool if there were certain conditions that needed to be met and/or triggers that both sides have to initiate in order for the event to happen, but not in the first part of the game.
Actually good advice from QB. I see the same problem with Random Events. New things are usually excited at first, but when you take a deep look into them, you start to realize what's not so good.
Issue is, random events have a couple matchmaker issues and they explicitly tell you when they are going to happen, instead of the random event being an integrated part of the base map that can randomly happen on the base map...
What is the issue with that exactly? This way people can choose not to participate in this testing if they prefer the classic game mode they are used to.
@@Skerrry I'm talking about how when you have these events enabled, the event is guaranteed to happen from the start of the battle, and you can tell that the event is going to occur. Random events work best when it's a surprise, being able to tell that they happen on countdown means it's "just another map"
@@juanzulu1318 that's not what I mean. The random selection right now is whether or not you get the event map, not whether the event is going to happen or not. This means whenever you see tested map in the corner on countdown, you are guaranteed the event, which is not how random events should be ingame
agreed i love new events but they shouldnt happen early and wg could consider making safe haven blockade being destructible having like 2000 hp so you can crack it with HE quickly and open back the passage
I had a game on ruinberg that was really cool and got opened up nicely with the random event in the town. I thought it was really fun and interesting to get to play around with the new angles and positions that were created after sitting and fighting in the same ones for up to 10 years at this point. Of course some players on the enemy team got caught off guard quite heavily as they didn't even seem to notice the event went off and the buildings got destroyed but they'll eventually grow aware of it I would think and counter your push or do whatever.
It could make sense for the events to only be possible when a certain number of players are remaining. For example, after half of a team has been destroyed, there's a 20% chance of the map changing to open new paths. It may even help encourage longer games, giving an environmental advantage to the losing team. However they choose to trigger it, I think it's important that the events be unpredictable and don't occur the majority of the time. That helps keep the spectacle fresh, and prevents players from building their whole strategy around *expecting* them. It raises the skill ceiling to have players factor the possibility of the event into the positions they choose, but would suck to play with people who hang back and just wait for the event to occur
They did a similar thing to what was used in Battlefield 4. Add some random or player triggered events to change the map structure. Helps to move the battle along from stalemates and change angle of attacks etc. I love the idea.
It would also be nice that different part of the map also get affected. Having ruinberg only affected in one part of the map is a bit too easy. Because you can camp just one spot. It would be nice if the two centre parts where mediums rush also had a chance of opening up, however it should only be either the spots that we have now or the others
That rounded 600 damage at 03:54 was so satisfying for some reason lol glad to finally see they added the random events! I saw this update some time ago and I was so excited about it :D
I absolutely love the random events. It really adds a new flavor to the game and my only complaint is there's not more of them which is why I ended up turning them off for a little bit because I was getting the exact same maps over and over
I would much prefer WG make needed improvement to their MM , corridor maps and such then keep wasting programing time on these random childish distractions. What I would LOVE to see is a PRO version of WOT added along with the original that is much closer to actual tank combat. Of course that will happen when Pigs fly.
Random events are good, but there should be more than just plane and zepplin crashes. I remember they teased that the tides would go up and down on airfield. Could you imagine a random event like a fire occuring in prokhorovka and burning down all the trees and bushes in a certain very campy part of the map near the end of the game as to prevent intense campfests. Or maybe even battlefield 4 style levolution events that can be triggered by players. For example, in westfield if enough people shot at the supports of the bridge with explosive rounds it would get damaged and chipped away until the support breaks causing more of the bridge to fall.
I think it's great. iMO it should be completely random, so ensure people are not expecting them. Maybe 2/3 different kinds of events in each map, having a random number happening and having them happening at any time, including before the game starts
The way QB got played by the random event is so rewarding bcz so many maps are won or lost by 1 team who is crunching 1 flank. But bcz of these events those situations are comebackable, where they before were not. But sometimes it will backfire ofc
Worrying about the game getting to fast is very legit. Maybe WG should look at enlarging maps. Bring tactics and teamwork back to the game. Not these lanes and choke points where everyone is just shooting at each others weak points on the turret ( commander and loader hatches). Heavies go here, lights go there, TD’s camp here, mediums snipe from here. Apply some physics to EBR’s please. NO vehicle should be able to zigzag on mud, sand, ice and never lose traction. Also, EBR’s racing at 80 then cutting a 180* turn and never sliding ? And how can they travel and zigzag backwards as well as forward. Does the driver have a reverse camera 🤣 it is impossible. Lastly is spotting. When a vehicle is stationary, it can spot 360° maximum distance for that crew & equipment. Now, when a vehicle is in motion, its spotting should be limited as it would be in real life. Forward is maximum spotting 100%, to the sides so 75% spotting range to your rear 50% of spotting range. Anyhow may your aim be true and your pen be deep. Rock on Tankers 🤘😎
For the normal player's view like me, if there is a strong t95, Tortoise or obj705 holding the town side, the random events are really giving out opportunities to fight in other ways.
I enjoy the extra spice and cover they provide. Makes the maps different and gives one expectations of seeing an event. On Prok, and Himmels, I have seen unwary/uninformed tanks get hammered by the event. So far, the members of my clan that I have talked to, like it as do I.
The idea is great. We just have to see if the implementation will be just as good. It really should be either: make a random event occur to break a stalemate, or be as random as it can possibly be so, as QB said, people can't anticipate it without throwing the battle if it doesn't happen.
The bombers' crash on the West of Prokhorovka is a proper mess up for the southern spawn team if they are pushing. My team lost two T110E3s who couldn't reverse out of the crash zone fast enough so got wiped. I was scouting in the UDES 03, as there were no light tanks in the game, and had to move to avoid the crash which got me spotted and killed. So 3 tanks were wiped out by a random event just on one team's half of the map. The enemy had to do nothing but camp in the same positions they always do in North West Prokhorovka. The only counter to this is to camp at the back and not move for the Southern spawn team. The Northern team cannot push into the zone or they will be killed by the random event so they just camp the North West corner. This is the worst "random" event in the game.
I hope the next map to get a random event is Highway. Have that tornado outside the map actually sweep through the map. It could bring debris from outside the map to drop in its wake and damage part of the city. And pick up your tank and throw it if you're in the tornado's direct path.
I absolutely love these random events. It’s a great way to spice up gameplay on existing maps in fun ways. I used to play a decent amount of Battlefield 4, and I loved having that sort of map defining destruction available in the game. It’s very easy for World of Tanks to feel like it exists in this little simulation box away from the context of a larger war, even though all tank designs are typically meant to be part of a larger combined arms war. Random events adds this extra little bit of outside warfare impacting the battle, while still being World of Tanks in all its tank-mania glory
More events, maybe more conditions for them to happen but the most important - MORE EVENTS on EACH map, also in tournaments. Maybe even a few in different parts of the map. So many options. This game is RNG based anyway and space awareness can be appreaciated even more with those kind of changes.
I LOVE the random events, I’ve always hated the Hulldown heavy and impossible to pen TD gameplay, I think this is a huge improvement to the game. Moreover, as an arty player, I enjoy the fact that some positions can no longer be arty proof.
anything that adds variety to the maps is a plus imo. I agree that the events should be later in the battle and the time should be random..anywhere from 5-10 min or something. Maybe use a bell curve.. slim chance to occur at 2 min or 12 min etc.
Most of the times the games so fast when the random event comes the battle is already over or just 9 guy hunting down the 2 doomed one at the enemy's side . Still they are great addition to the game .
I have thought for a long time that planes dropping bombs or trains moving through battlefields would be a good addition. I really like the random events and would like to see them expanded to other maps in the game.
Yep I hope they will happen later on in the game and they should have some kind of trigger that if stalemate is detected, then the event happens. This should reduce the amount of draws which would be great.
So far i'm really enjoying these random events because 9 times out of 10 they instantly end any stalemates which has been a plague in WoT since version 1.0
I think they're a great idea. BUT, speaking of predictability: Why not vary the location and/or effect? Maybe have 3 or 4 different locations on a given map that could change. That way, even if players knew they could count on AN effect, they wouldn't be able to plan for/predict which one.
i was so happy when they announced and introduced random events Sometimes i feel like some maps are very corridor-ish and is not suitable to the tank i am currently playing, and the game offering your a alternate path or a new way to play in a random moment of the match is quiet a welcome feature ! Giving a flank oppertunity, or cover to be able to go trought a very hard to cross open area, it has made me go places i thought i would never go before, that is amazing, it's like rediscovering a map i already played thousands of times. I am really happy with it, and i hope that in the feature, each map has a " random event " and non random event version, for those who don't like this features, but i would not mind playing 100% maps with random events.
Oh I like that idea QB. If game is a stalemate, say both teams still have an equal amount of tanks 10 minutes in, it automatically triggers an event. That's interesting. Less draws.
These events in my opinion breaks stalemates where you just have the two sides full of heavies sitting there with their impenetrable turrets for 10 minutes.
I find myself really liking them haha, opens new opportunities mid-match, it "unstuck" the stuck situations and make it way more enjoyable to play, I suddently don't have to wait for the enemies to make a mistake now !
afaik it is random. it may happen, it may not; and if it does happen, it can trigger immediately at the start of the match, or 5 mins into it. I've observed it on multiple occasions on himmelsdorf. I've had matches where nothing triggers, some matches it triggers well after the brawl up in the castle area. This is a fantastic feature WG has added. EA's battlefied 3 and 4 have done in the past and called it "levelution, where the whole map dynamically changes via player influence, such as dams breaking and flood the whole map, or a skyscrapper crashing down and then divides the whole map into two. It really adds up to the experience of the match
Maybe if the random events mattered on the amount of team or enemies that have went back into garage, so after 5 dead on one team or other a random event happens to maybe give a fighting chance it could backfire and make the situation worse but its an idea
This is the best thing that happened since they changed "gold ammo" available for credits. Changing maps with this mechanic it's a good thing and could be more different variants there usual spots, bushes, buildings change locations so you couldn't tell there someone is. Because right now that bush must be scout sitting or td or I can wait here some will show up soon. Same maps for many years it's kind of like "I must go here" all a time. Right now just blind shoot popular spots and often to hit someone and that is not great.
I guess if these are random events, then not only the timing should be random, but the effect also -- it would make it much more exciting and would stop players from just waiting for them to happen
They are great and they should push more. Since they are not introducing new maps often, its a great way to make the current ones feel less boring.
honestly just came back to the game after 2 years because I saw they were changing up some maps.
But they should be actully rendom. Like 2 or 4 different event per maps that each time a different combination happens so u cant wait for the event.
they have tons of old maps they promised to rework in HD way back and still didnt. So I wouldnt even expect any new maps.

The game absolutely needs to slow down. The most satisfying wins are in very close games that come down to one tank winning the game.
IMO they could just ad the maps with the "evolution" into the map rotation. You could have 1 himmel with the zeppelin down and 1 himmel without it. I don't like the idea of the map changing at the middle of the game.
Nah dude, for me there are 3 main problem in WOT.
1.Stupid map design especially exclusive corridor design for HT or heavily armored tanks
2.OP tanks, its a plague that getting worse since they introduced Pz.58 Mutz.
3.HE mechanic changes, clearly this move only meant to please braindead HT and encourage to spit more gold rounds
You can add arty if you wish
They should make a random event on mines where the entire hill is flattened
Lol so true😂
I don't think it would be very nice to get killed by a zeppelin all of a sudden with no warning.
they just be warning before it's happen! you not gonna want to be kill by random event
I think the reason why people hate spgs was because of how sudden it is. So a little warning though breaking immersion, seems more welcoming.
I personally prefer no alarm at all, just get randomly crushed or sth seems really fun to me
@@MinhVo-ig7no there's probably an option of whether you can enable warning alerts or not for random events
Also, for those people who know every spot on the maps, this shakes things up.
Would be neat if they added weather events like sandstorms, thunderstorms, blizzards. That way visibility can be reduced.
Honestly, barely even notice them. Should be more of them like pop up infantry with piats and bazookas!
BZs deserve it lmao
He meant BZ-58 as in a tier 7 mediocre heavy tank but if you do hate BZ-176 you can check my v+deos ;)
Had 3 random events since release, and all 3 on Ruinberg....Idk what game you're playing where you get them so often.
I'd prefer it if the post-event version of the maps were the default version. They really break open those stalemate maps
At least on Ruinberg
As players adjust to the new meta, these potatoes will still be able to create stalemates on the new version 😂
Lets be blunt.
There are other things that this game needs way more rightnow and its not "random events".
I was on the safe haven map when three T-29 heavy tanks at full health were destroyed by the random event. We were losing before that happened. What a crazy swing of advantage that was.
dont even play wot but i still watch to stay updated on my "lore".
Imagine the Mines hill collapsing due to "sappers" blowing up the tunnels underneath and creating paths for climbing it from different sides...
My first experience with the random events was on himmelsdorf and I was on the hill at the point of the castle. Suddenly look to my left and there's a whole BLIMP coming towards me. Needless to say, I needed a change of pants after that.
We need Skill-based-Matchmaking and not stupid stuff like this.
It'd be cool if there were certain conditions that needed to be met and/or triggers that both sides have to initiate in order for the event to happen, but not in the first part of the game.
The random events are nice. Some are more useless than others and hope they change the bad ones to be better
Actually good advice from QB.
I see the same problem with Random Events.
New things are usually excited at first, but when you take a deep look into them, you start to realize what's not so good.
You can just turn those events off
Issue is, random events have a couple matchmaker issues and they explicitly tell you when they are going to happen, instead of the random event being an integrated part of the base map that can randomly happen on the base map...
What is the issue with that exactly? This way people can choose not to participate in this testing if they prefer the classic game mode they are used to.
This critique males no sense. Even if they are indicated on the map right before impact they are still random.
@@helohel5915 I haven't played them myself but didn't QB say that they occur maybe once every 3 battles?
agreed i love new events but they shouldnt happen early and wg could consider making safe haven blockade being destructible having like 2000 hp so you can crack it with HE quickly and open back the passage
It really adds a new flavor to the game and my only complaint is there's not more of them which is why I ended up turning them off for a little bit because I was getting the exact same maps over and over
At April Fool's day of 2024, please played world of warships
I do like how it changes up the battle and can dig people out of common positions without relying on arty
What are the 2 aim dots on your tank QB?
Are you running armor inspector?
I just started playing again after about a year long hiatus and completely forgot they were adding them. Was pleasantly surprised when I saw it.
Nah they won't ruin it. I love these events so much
The idea is great.
I'm surprised how good of a change they made with these events. With the exception of Safe Haven, which is an odd choice to just block a tunnel.
anything that adds variety to the maps is a plus imo.
I think they are amazing and every map should have them
So far i'm really enjoying these random events because 9 times out of 10 they instantly end any stalemates which has been a plague in WoT since version 1.0
More maps please
I think they're a great idea. BUT, speaking of predictability: Why not vary the location and/or effect? Maybe have 3 or 4 different locations on a given map that could change. That way, even if players knew they could count on AN effect, they wouldn't be able to plan for/predict which one.
The random event in Prokhorovka really changes the game play on that map for the better.
i was so happy when they announced and introduced random events
Sometimes i feel like some maps are very corridor-ish and is not suitable to the tank i am currently playing, and the game offering your a alternate path or a new way to play in a random moment of the match is quiet a welcome feature !
I love it it look so great and the most important thing is it really change the tactic of the match if you really know how to use it as a advantage
