One of your best videos. Reminds me of the good old days when I was a kid in the Philippines where my mothers' relatives lived. Market days were only Thursdays and Saturdays due to no roads going to town.
In 2011 we went to Hanoi , Sapa and Halong Bay we had a ball , watching your Vlog that reminded me of Sapa Sunday Market, we saw BacHa people's simple but unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice, cassavas and corn. The native flower mong and black mong in their traditional costume but with mobile phone in their hands.
Man! the quality is impressive, i like that you don't only talk about food, you give us the whole experience like if we are there, and that camera quality is nice
+Diego F. Esquivel Yeah, I've always said again and again that I'm not a food reviewer or a foodie. I just need to eat food and the camera happens to be on me. Food is a huge part of traveling and life in general, but this channel offers more. Thank you Diego.
i escape vietnam in 1978 ( boat peoples) and only return in 2013 but most of my times were in saigon and only heard of this far away places , this video shows wat i only heard about , thanks kyle
Great one Kyle ! Extremely interesting , wonderful insight into the lives of these indigenous people and fabulous video quality . Always poetic and polite . You are a classy guy ,Kyle .
Wow. Hard to put into words how great this video is. Insight into how non-modern communities exist and thrive. I saw everything in this video, the tribal dress, from young to old, the way they observed you, etc. I almost feel that they should be protected from bus loads of tourists for fear that their beautiful social tapestry would get damaged. These people didn't dress that way to get money from tourists, they dressed that way because their mothers and grandmothers dressed that way. What a privilege it was to see. Thank you very much Kyle, thank you. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Wonderful place. Went there today with our motorbikes, sat down for lunch and we were invited for lunch by a group of young people! Then we continued the ma pi leng pass to Dong Van which was mind-blowing!
Kyle, I love your video and the words you uses. You are a great narrator. Your video camera quality is also great as well. Keep it coming with more..Thanks.
I find it very nice that there are still those places that has not been destroyed by the fast modern world. The people do not have easy, but are no less happy. And have bewart a large part of their culture. We can not even survive one day without car, smartphone and Kredikarte. I admire these people and have great respect.
+joschi starke Well, that's why we're hella weak, and they're hella strong. Thanks for watching. Much appreciated. Btw, did you follow me on snapchat or instagram yet?
+David Sisneroz David, thank you for the recognition. Much appreciated. Please share my videos with your friends if you enjoyed them. It's the only way I can make more views for you guys. thanks
what a beautiful video. I felt like i was walking along with you, just observing life as these people live it daily. I wish I could taste the food but your descriptions and honest reactions were awesome. I live the fact that you are so polite when traveling! I pray for those people that their market never becomes a tourist trap. and bless you!
Hey, Kyle you are the man. We love your video If I ever come back to visit Vietnam, I would (like to) bring all my family members and ask you to be our tour guide to all the interesting places (where you video taped) and, of course, all the food places too. In the meantime we will keep on watching you and we that we are admiring a GREAT job you are doing, ROCK ON PS: if you ever come to Orange County CA (Little Saigon), USA. Let us know, I AM SURE we can be your tour guide then
+DryRice well, i totally understand. it's difficult. thank you for watching, and please share my channel with your friends who love vietnam. i appreciate it very much
They have this really nice carnival or something like a park called ho nuoc ngot soc trang. It's a fun place and you might as well bring your friend too.
I do not feel anything, for me it is a pleasure, because everybody has the right to take a picture, until the subject has not done anything bad, or ugly :) I can understand if there is another habit, but after all, you can always ask permission, If you wish. But catching the moment, that means you do not have permission to ask for the time, because all the time go shooting, and the search for a new moment. Kyle LeDotNet
+Jimmy Ho I wouldn't say it's smooth, but they understand me for the most part- they as in the Vietnamese people (kinh) people, but the ethnic minorities rarely speak Vietnamese- especially the older people. I tried to talk to a few people and they all just stared at me. They probably never encounter the southern dialect either up there.
+Peter Parker Hey Peter, thank you so much for watching my video. I appreciate it. Please tell your Australian friends about my channel. It will help me more videos.
Market place in its primitive form, congregate area with the mountain back drop. Our Sam club and Walmart here would appear similar if they are out door and without all the modern buildings and roads. Just something to wonder about.
+Kyle LeDotNet Chua yeu tu and Chua ba vang. Many people are coming from all over Vietnam to see both places. :) The town is untouched by turists, and is still under devonment. I'm sure you'll love it there.
Haven't you been here before Kyle? I remember watching a vid back then where you went into an ethic market looks similar to tihs one but you were by yourself that time... hmmmm can someone else confirm this?... or i'm just crazy
very nice vlog kyle, due to privacy issues... friends only, the groups were formed around the world 'looks alike' 'dress alike' the spoken words were tilted to keep others groups from listening in therefore many mini languages were derived or in simpler term a 'slang' :)
Mate, great video. But farout..it feels awkward to watch you and Ngoc together lol. Maybe if you could engage her more in your vids it'd be interesting.
does the older hmong speak Vietnamese well? im Hmong American myself and our dialect which so soo much different. Its just funny to the eye to hear Hmong speak Vietnamese because from where we are from. well thank for the vid. They probably have no idea theres even hmong outside of Vietnam.
i wonder if kyle and nhuc or how every you spell her name, shares the same hotel room or get different ones because it might be scary for a girl to sleep by herself in a strang place. plus does kyle pay for everything or how does this work?
Kyle LeDotNet How do you do low carb in Asia? In China ppl looked at me funny when the main staples are rice noodles and buns. I guess in Vietnam - grilled pork! - theres a better assortment of meats and fresh accoutrements. yum
+chowfunwithquoc I recommend this one and the one in Bac Ha. The Bac Ha one is a lot more touristy though. All other markets around Sapa are also pretty touristy... you gotta go as far as possible.
Kyle LeDotNet I hope to visit Northern Vietnam before it gets too touristy. Your videos in Ha Giang is pretty awesome. I was wondering if you guys visited Ma Pi Leng pass? Keep up the good work. The narrative and the cinematography on your last video was great.
Hey! Tell me with the vibrant colors that are worn by most in this vid you think you could offer your viewers a new look on your T's to reflect Northern VN. The HD Camera is spectacular. Oh, Do you offer chubby sizes like 3XLGTALL. Greatly appreciate it Kyle. They do have motion sickness pills if travelling upsets your delicate stomach. You are a very accomplished narrator. Did you study Journalism in College. Nevertheless, Dude you are on point like your flow. Don't change a thing!
+Arturo Rojas Thank you Arturo. Its much appreciated. I hate motion sickness pills because they make me drowsy and shaky. I have a degree in history, not journalism. Thank you for the compliment. I only record my narrations max 2 times- most of the recordings you hear are one takes.
Actually when you talk English and looking at the Vietnamese people, either they think you're making fun of them/talking bad about them. Or they think your just simply weird lol. That's what I learned when I finally visit Vietnam again or thats just me.
Yep I sure to doe! What ethnicity are you? Just gotta be proud of where you ethnicity came from. Just saying because is true. You just gotta love your cultural life style forever because you were born that way to earth.
its fascinating to see how other Vietnamese beside Kinh, minorities, besides oversea Chinese live due im Chinese been 2rd generation. do u know Vietnamese minorities are part of Vietnamese people too due many us been as long n old as Kinh Vietnamese too. even Kinh Vietnamese who speak official Vietnamese are descendants of many ethnics, minorities too like especially oversea Chinese been so long then become Vietnamese, then Mong, Moi, Thuong, Cambodia n lao n Chams etc... why is he doing this weird narration? i also don't think u should speak for how ethnic minorities are doing or the state of things, esp. if you're not them. i mean, honestly. what do you know about how they feel about their status if you're not one of them or you don't have lots of friends who are not them. but nice video outside of that.
It's amazing Kyle, you are adventurous and great at introducing remote parts if Vietnam. Thank you.

Another great video Kyle. Everybody is slim, unlike the USA. Glad to see the scooter drivers wearing helmets
+Tony C word up. i think most people are skinny fat
these 60fps videos are on point kyle, keep it up.
+chobo1665 thank you Chobo. I believe they're 50 fps though. I find that 50 fps allows me to shoot better in lower light with lower shutter speed.
I've eaten some questionable meals around those super rural areas, damn, big props to you both for eating that
This is so cool! So cool!
+laughter95 SHARE IT!!! I need all the help I can get right now.

I tried to talk to a few people and they all just stared at me. They probably never encounter the southern dialect either up there.

Kyle you must have crazy metabolism. Though you must walk around a lot in Asia.
+imhellag I actually don't walk that much. I have to hit up the gym to maintain my weight and do low carb most days.
Kyle LeDotNet How do you do low carb in Asia? In China ppl looked at me funny when the main staples are rice noodles and buns.
I guess in Vietnam - grilled pork! - theres a better assortment of meats and fresh accoutrements. yum
+imhellag chicken and veggies.
@ Kyle LeDotNet how far is this place from Sapa? is it close by?
+pooya hemmati It's quite far away. More towards the west. Many hours by car away...
