The Tom Kubis Big Band featuring Wayne Bergeron & Evan Abounassar "Maynard & Waynard"

The Tom Kubis Big Band performed this number live on 08-25-14 at "The Don the Beachcomber's" in Huntington Beach, CA. Tom's Big Band many times features a young guest artist to play along with them. This young trumpet playing guest that evening was Evan Abounassar, a sophomore attending The Los Angeles County High School For The Arts. The past year when he was attending Esperanza High School he was the first freshmen ever to win "The Most Outstanding Trumpet Player" award at the Reno Jazz Festival in 2014. Evan also was the first freshman ever to win the "Outstanding Soloist" award at the prestigious "Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival" See here in this video where he teams up with the ultra talented and one of the most exciting trumpet players in the world, Mr. Wayne Bergeron. To be honest with you I would be shaking in my boots playing next to Wayne but Evan here is apparently in his element comfortably playing this famous and ever so popular jazz duet chart "Maynard and Waynard" BTW, The Tom Kubis Big Band plays Live every last Monday of the month at "Don the Beachcomber's" in Huntington Beach, CA See ya there!
