Well I come to find these video after I’ve purchased set front and rear brake pads. My mechanic told me my brake pad were fine. He doesn’t have time to scan the car TO come back next time for a deep scanning. I’ll buy the OEM. I have same year & model vw CC as George. I read this above 👆 comment. Go with OEM. I’ve learned my lesson after I went through 3 bad oil separator, spent money on Coils and Spark ⚡️ plug. Twice. Since I installed new PCV . Car run smooth again . Thank you George, my work for the weekend
Thanks for video have no diagnostic tools whrnt and bought two new sensors guy told me it usualy back left thats faulty fitted that one first and all lights whent off brought second one back happy days 35euros and was fixed much appreciated thanks
@@michaels3474 it turns out my issue was MUCH worse. Bent spindle and an abs module that was failing and had to be replaced. Mine is a VW 2012 CC that I bought used for reference. Whether it was a time bomb or from previous owner being rough with it I'll never know.
Great video! I found the sensor for $13.85. About 35 min later and the codes were clear even the low pressure light went out. I went ahead and purchased the front sensor for $5.95 so I will be ready when it happens again! Thanks for your video!
Did the sensors last for $13.85 . Without that price tags 🏷. I wouldn’t mind replacing them by myself on the time once or twice. What size did you find them for $13
@@granularautospa3802 I got them from a place called Car Parts Online in Tennessee. They lasted for 3 years, now I am starting again replacing each one every year. I'll let you know how these work out...
I've done two of these do far and just a warning to others, I have had bad luck with non-oem sensors for this location in a vw cc. Oem replacement worked perfectly.
The tyre pressure light was on because the tyre pressure system works in conjunction the abs . And needs to read wheel speed for traction control and anti skid also very good information just having some difficulty with a Passat abs trouble intermittent rear left code along with tyre pressure code I tried two non genuine sensors the fault codes would not clear .I put the old sensor back in all codes cleared but after a short drive came back on . I checked the wheel bearing all looks ok there looks like dealer part or the wrong sensors.
Took my car in with the same problems and told them about this video and they insisted it was my battery, $400 battery. Well it drove well for the first few hours but now I’m stranded in the side of the road….again, waiting on another tow truck! I’m exhausted!
Mero Streep I’m in Texas also, seems like on real cold mornings or nights mine starts throwing the code on my 15 Jetta but as I start driving 90% of the time the codes clear and lights on the dash go out
What about cleaning the sensor? I notice that everyone seems to be having the same problem from their rear sensors. Maybe runs in the puddle cause them to fail? I don’t understand how such enclosed sensors fail by themselves.
It seems to go off more often wen it rains or cold weather for me. I have 130 miles on it. My suspicion was the censors on the front two tires just cuz the rain will make my abs light go wild with all the other icons. The water on the tires triggerd the censors making them dirty. hope I don't have to replace them. Any whoo Thanks for comfirming it 👍 saved me time and perhaps money 👍👍
hi,George how about ASR light on 2004 vw passat 2.8l 4motion I do not have a sophisticated scanner. anyway, what causes the light to come on please help
2006 vw passat 2.0 turbo this seems like it will solve my issue I have the same problems. It will make me Very😂😂😂😂😁😁😁😁 As well as my customer thanks for the vid👍
Is this a common thing? How often do we need to do this? My Sharan Mk2 has had its sensor(s) replaced once maybe 2-3 years ago and today it’s showing again.
This has just happened on my 2013 rline passat . So I’ve ordered 4 wheel speed sensor and to save any hassle I’m going to replace all 4. Yet another device on a modern car to go wrong. Bring back the old Ford escort that has no sensor and you can fix it yourself at home without it going to the garage
2014 golf TDI same problem. On you launch x431 I-Diag... can you buy just the plug and download the software? Amazon has all flavors and is a bit overwhelming. Thx Mike

Gonna go get my car scanned at auto zone and research the error codes, if it turns out to be an abs sensor then you are a life saver George.
I think that is a VW flaw. I have a 2011 Golf. I haven't heard anyone complain about this yet.

The problem is that it's not really enclosed.
Where did you get the scan tool from
I got the scan tool off Amazon. Made just for VW and Audi.
Great video George appreciate your work and sharing
Thanks for sharing! I've been having the same issue with mine, what is the name of the replacement sensor that you got from autozone?

Well, but there are 4 sensors. You may have replaced one, when it needed it, and now another went faulty ?
How much does a job like his cost
But isn't the jetta FWD? Why would the car see rear wheel rotation when your car is in the air and FWD?
