- I finally got around to taking the Revo 11 I bought recently out for its maiden voyage, and learned quite a bit about it in the process.
This is a long vid (my longest yet) so grab a cold one, sit back and enjoy!
Hope you enjoy the video and as always, tight lines!
Every sunrise is a marvel
100% agree!
Thanks for the info there on that Hobee Andy tight lines
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it.
Great Video
Glad you enjoyed it
I have a Revo11 as well, im 6`4 and 90kg roughly. Had my Revo11 about 8yrs maybe more, had out on Cockburn Sound chasing snapper and on the Swan for tailor. Has handled some fairly rough conditions on both waters. Put track mounts on both sides with Railblaza rod holders and put net in the rear rod holder, mine has Turbo fins as well. We did meet up once at The South of Perth Yacht Club , i was in my red Revo 11. Over time i have gotten used to it , cabin space is tight when you have lanky legs like mine, but i love my Revo11. Think the only time i came close to brown pants would have those bloody big tugs and their bow wake. Bow into those are not fun at all,PS have been about 1k offshore at Busselton and handled fine. A replacement seat, i would suggest a Freak seat, cheaper than a Hobie one. Thicker seat base and higher back rest, just need to put two padeyes on the back for the seat straps. Tin Yetti did a review on his UA-cam channel on them, he bought 3
Cheers Russell, I am still undecided about track mounts but I might go that way eventually. I am sure as I get used to the yak it will seem more stable, but I won't be taking it far offshore just yet. Cheers again!
Good to see the home brew back my friend must admit you didn’t look to comply on the new yak
It's going to take a bit of getting used to for sure.
Good Kayak Andy, I might upgrade my Kayak too, way too heavy to put on top of car.
Cheers Chris, the Revo is so much lighter than an Outback.
Good to see you back on the water Andy. Good choice in colour, the yellowy orange is easy to see on the water. Ive found the hobie compass to be a great balance between weight, stability, and fishing room.
Cheers Craig, nice to be back out there on the new yak. I did like the look of the compass...maybe a future yak!
Nice video Andy and good to see you out on the water catching mate. No doubt you'll get into some Tailor in the near future as they are appearing in good numbers/sizes in the lower Swan.
Cheers Mike, I am hoping to get out on the Swan in the near future and give those Tailor a proper shakedown!
Good 🦑 mission on the new Yak 👍
Cheers Benn!
Great way to christen the new yak Andy. I'm looking for a smaller fishing yak for the same purpose - tough to lug the big beast around when I'm only going out for an hour or so. I'm 6'3'' and got a fair bit of weight behind me - how cramped would I be in a Revo?
Great stuff as always mate 👍
I think a Revo 11 would be too small for you mate, a Revo 13 might be more suitable ( I think they weigh less than an Outback too). If you are open to a paddle kayak the Tarpon 120s are great, and much cheaper than you would expect. Cheers again Paz.
@paddlefisher Cheers mate. Was looking at a Passport or Compass - wouldn't mind a tarpon actually!
