You're not dialled in. Tommy's 'mania' is the expression of the thoughts and experiences of many. His humour softens the hardness of reality without fear or favour. That is what comedy is about. If it was pure mania we'd be laughing at him, but his piercing observations have us laughing at ourselves and each other without mockery but with shared awareness. That's why he's so fucking funny. If his delivery troubles you then there are plenty of channels that pipe script-written, rehearsed comedy for you to watch. I'll take Tiernan and Connolly in full flow anyday. Spot on and resonant.
