The Kingsway College Choir sang this at my son's funeral in 1982. It will always be a part of me not as a reminder of death but as an anthem of victory.
I was honoured to be part of the KC choir that sang for Keven's funeral. I sang in the tenor section with Keven in the choir for several years and the choir was one of his passions. A young life taken way too soon. Thank God we have the hope of reuniting again someday.
Patricia, I worked with Kevin in the Music Dept. of KC. I was the pianist who accompanied and practiced with all of Mr. Anderson's vocal students. Kevin worked there as our front desk monitor. And we'd have some very interesting conversations when I came in to work every morning. It was way too early for both of us and we would commiserate about that! His passing was such an emotional impact on my life. I was so young (9th grade). I think of him often. I was there at Kevin's funeral. I remember this song well & the duet Mr. Anderson sang with PK. Emotional. And you are so RIGHT! We must remind each other that death is but a short sleep in Jesus. Our victorious Leader comes soon! God bless you. I have never forgotten your son.
Laird Thank you, Laird. i remember you and "the world's greatest tenor section" which Mr. Anderson suggested were actually fledgling turkeys. Thank you for keeping his memory alive.
"Hallelujah!!!" The influence of Haydn and Mozart are especially poignant in this piece. Another powerful and resonant performance by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir!
God continue blessing this wonderful Choir! I imagine how amazing will be all the Cristians singing and glorifying and adoring Jesus Christ , all together to the Angels in the Heaven !
LYRICS Hallelujah! unto God’s Almighty Son. Praise the Lord, ye bright angelic choirs, In holy songs of joy. Man, proclaim His grace and glory! Hallelujah! unto God’s Almighty Son. Praise the Lord in holy songs of joy.

I Cherish the Tape I bought in 1994 entitled, "O Divine Redeemer" Not only did it have this great by Beethoven, but I had the title track, When I survey the Wondrous Cross, and some of John Rutter's best.
