For them to make you a badge and take your picture for a temp ID, etc yet still let you roam around on your own is overkill and a waste of time. Didnt stall me much but when i was trying to get out from the back end because the GPS told me to go through it and its much closer to my next stop (they also have a back gate), stalled me 5 minutes wondering if theyll open -for exit- automatically or had to dial them again. Nothing happened then i had to get back out from the front. wasted at least 10 mins right there
@VaricYT I've been in that situation many times. I would get forced to wait for dispatch to see if they had a different code to get into a community. (This was before customers gave access keys to drivers).
as a flex driver, sometimes I'll get DSP routes as well during the evening time. I call them leftovers routes. The flex routes depends on what station you' re in IMO. In my case I'm in Queens, NY. Personally I like Queens over Brooklyn cause I'm mostly familiar in Queens. I got into DSP as well but in Brooklyn and I'm still figuring out the group stops VS doing them individually like most flex routes does. Doing flex is much easier compare to DSP but as a flex driver, you are your own boss. I'm driving an 04 Honda Accord with 210K miles so realistically speaking, I can't do flex long term which is why I sign up for DSP.
You are a better man than me because those high security boxes would have been left right at that counter or returned. That was ridiculous. They should have a mail card that the mail room comes to pick up a couple times throughout the day. Also, bring your own lunch. You are eating so much junk throughout the day. Lastly when you go in interesting buildings always ask people what they do and how do they like it because I went from driving for Amazon to getting a $95,000 position as a tech salesman. All because I asked a random person what they do here. So always be hunting my friend.
Absolute cap lmao. You’re not making $95k with no prior sales experience. That doesn’t even make sense. People think 95k grows on trees and that you just gotta go out and grab one.
Personally, I prefer routes that have low stop and package counts w/stops spread out and lots of minutes in between each one, instead of ones that are high, w/stops less one minute apart, the entire damn day. It’s unbelievably draining. Essentially, rural routes.
I asked a flex driver once and she said every stop was 45 min to an hour but thats also in a rural area where Amazon doesn't gurentee 2 day deliveries for Prime members so Amazon is kind of a I can wait shop.

Recycled routes suck. You have to wait forever to load up, several hours sometimes. Then they're always small and make it hard to get your hours for the day
Signatures are the way the customer knows that their package was delivered to a person and they can see who signed for it , it also helps the seller know that a person was at the location to accept the package in case it's a safety issue with preventing theft.
The dsp I work for is small and when I started we only had 1 start time for all of us 9:40 am, which was fine for summer getting dark later in the day but now it gets dark freaky early being winter. Now we have 3 so I chose to start at 7:40am that way I shouldn't be delivering in the dark, unless they need me to "sweep" out what you guys call it "rescue." One of my first routes after changing times I had 12 stops! My smallest route ever!!! Normally the earlier routes are smaller so that we can help the other drivers out. I normally do about 2 "sweeps" a day now on top of my 60 to 80 stops. Although one day after i finished i called dispatch they sent me to an address and i waited for about 20 min and they never showed so i called dispatch back they sent me somewhere else and I waited and waited. I called back they sent me somewhere else and again I waited and nobody showed up again. That day I waited at 3 different locations for a total of about 2hrs on the side of the road. Still got payed for it though.
I did a much bigger flex route on a day when I wasn’t scheduled to work this past February. One of the owners of my DSP texted me directly that morning and asked if I was available to work because of increased volume and I said yes because I wanted the hours. My flex route had 139 packages. On a flex route you deliver only one or two packages to each house and the stops most of the time are a quarter mile apart or farther. The sequence numbers on the packages count up from 1. So I went from 1 to 139.
I just had a route today of 130 stops, 212 locations and 330 packages. I'm beyond dead. Never had a route that crazy. I couldn't get organized to save my life.

Bro that Amazon GPS sucks so much! It was my first day yesterday and they had me out in the forest at night with no flashlight or anything and this stupid thing is making me go back and forth doing a million u-turns.
In places where there isn't any Amazon warehouses or last mile delivery centers it's usually handed over to United States Postal Service to deliver to the destination but if the package is too big for USPS to deliver it's usually handled by UPS. Amazon normally won't send their Flex drivers too far from their warehouses mostly because it's too dangerous for the driver and the long driving takes a toll on the driver's personal vehicle and the driver's body since they are working out of their car.
Man, I like working at my Amazon DSP, however I really hate when every time I have to collect a signature from a customer when I directly hand them their package because my flex app says to do so :c just seeing you leave the packages and walking away makes me want to quit lol
I take their name, type it in, and draw a line on the pad for the signature. Sometimes, I even use the name for the package. Saves time, never been called out for it.
Yeah never trust gps, specially when you start getting to dirt areas lol. How doe amazon work? UPS you can bid routes and with enough seniority that will be what you do every day. Amazon got a system like that?
From Amazon , the company has vending machines in some warehouses that have the stuff in which the employees can purchase what they need or the employee can go online to the company site and order the stuff, depending on what way you choose you'll need to use your employee badge number in order to purchase anything because they definitely don't want non-employees getting the stuff and trying to pass off as an Amazon worker just to steal packages.
I remember my first time doing a flex route. I was on standbye and they gave me 3 diff routes in diff cities and gave me a rental van. We didn’t leave the warehouse until 3 pm. They took 1 route off me, so I ended up with 2. I only delivered 12 stops and then got rescued. I finished at like 6-7ish. Was such a fun day🥲🥲

Hey bro I just got a call from fed ex delivery driver and am considering trying it since the job I applied for is taking awhile to get my background check done. We’ll see what happens. Hey what type of camera do you use to record your videos?
They tell us not to do that at my DSP. They say never select “handed to customer” or whatever. I guess it’s because there’s been instances of customers saying they hadn’t received their packages, when in fact they did! So we’re required to take photos every time. It blows.
I check that and it still wants a pic. I did 225 locations yesterday and I think one didn't require a pic. It just sucks when the customer comes out to meet you... because a. The GPS says I'm not in the right spot and we have to walk to the porch anyways and b. Still makes me have them sign . Then they explain to me they've never signed anything. Lol
id never show my id to some random lady lol id ask if she wants the packages or not. i delivered for a small delivery company once an dnever had to show my id even at bigger cooperation's or loading docks
The property is a secured property he is required to show his ID regardless of wearing Amazon delivery clothing and driving a delivery vehicle , if he doesn't show ID he won't get access to the property to deliver his packages and that would be a strike on him for not delivering the customers packages to them , on-time delivery is very important to everyone not just the customer but also the driver and the seller on the site because the driver and the seller could get trouble if the package doesn't get to the customer.
Hi bro ..I want to ask did amazon raise pay after a period of time like i am watching your videos does they incrase pay rate or same as when you started ?
That's the easiest flex route I've seen any Amazon driver do. When I used to work as a driver at my DSP in Garner, NC Flex routes were insane in stop count. Most flex routes had to be delivered to the Downtown Raleigh area with 80+ stops with 90 packages that were at least 5 minutes apart from each other. Not to mention most flex routes wouldn't be ready until 2 pm at the earliest and my DSP loaded out at 10am. Amazon delivery was fine until I lost my usual route in Clayton and had to do Downtown Raleigh full time lmao.
@@LaosHouse doing flex routes in downtown Raleigh was literally almost no different than a regular route in downtown and you were starting later. 40 of those 80 stops were literal high rise buildings and luxury apartments that had so many obstacles to get through (no street parking, parking down the road, numerous access codes) it was like doing a normal route same stop count but finishing at 10 or 11 pm (downtown Raleigh is an all day route even for experienced drivers in that area).
Wassup Chris i been watching your vids for a while and i been really liking your perspective and how u go about the aspects of the job but im mad skeptical because i just see so much negativity about the job so it make me not even apply. Any tips on the job and how to go about it?
a lot of work is tough bro and ours is too but just grind it out. people are weak man i run big boy routes all day everyday and love the job and work, amazon wont pay us to just drive around and do nothing all day. This kinda route in the video is rare as Chris will say, but any job starting pay around 20/ h isn't going to be easy. just grind it one stop at a time and eventually the van is empty and you're driving home
Stick with your bank job rn amazon is about to have another prime day which means more packages for drivers to deliver too and peak season starts in December which means even more packages for drivers that entire month if you are going to do Amazon wait until January

With flex routes can customers tip the driver since they're supposed to be in their personal car? How does that work when a DSP picks it up?
5:00 was an interesting one, was it some restricted area?
1:28 baybiii come downnnj do the come downs or i will siong chriss voin
Can i wear body cam when i am delivering ?
If only you were my delivery driver… I’m still waiting a day after a my order was supposed to get here!
maybe someday
What was the easiest route you ever done? 👀
One of the drivers at my DSP had a route that was 8 stops, one of those stops was 90 overflow
@@Mr432scott I'd take that anyday
Do rescues count?😂 otherwise, definitely nursery routes.
5. stop 350 packages
300. Was to warehouse and 50 was group stop of queens neighborhood
@@eris9792 lol, those times when dispatch has you split with a guy with 30 stops
I'd ask where mailroom is...not staying for i.d
Hey bro I just got a call from fed ex delivery driver and am considering trying it since the job I applied for is taking awhile to get my background check done. We’ll see what happens.
Hey what type of camera do you use to record your videos?
Are amazon flex overflow from the DSP? Or packages come in anytime so when DSP drivers are out they use flex drivers?
8:16 the pizza, I'm hungry now
You're not with FedEx?
ever do country routes?
I do in Texas and look out for dogs!!!! EVEN if your typically great with dogs, trust me 😂!
most of the areas around me are suburbs
how are you just handing all these packages? it makes me photograph every single one lol
You can select an option that states you delivered it to them by hand. It makes you sign but sometimes I just sign for them
They tell us not to do that at my DSP. They say never select “handed to customer” or whatever. I guess it’s because there’s been instances of customers saying they hadn’t received their packages, when in fact they did! So we’re required to take photos every time. It blows.
Some group stops you can select all the it gives you 3 options, receptionist, mailroom or another safe location pick the last one and bounce
Lol
I love you but man … I walk on someone’s grass and I get “disrespectful to property” lmaooo
rip. I always get the "delivery was not so good" 😭
Do you get paid by the day or just amount of hours you do?
Did you get paid like how flex driver get paid once they complete the order or was it hourly
hourly
id never show my id to some random lady lol id ask if she wants the packages or not. i delivered for a small delivery company once an dnever had to show my id even at bigger cooperation's or loading docks
The company is also a Pharmaceutical company which manufactures drugs , which is why it's heavily guarded and he had to show his ID.
Did you get paid per hour or for the whole day?
how much do you make working as a driver i make 18.5 for working in the warehouse
right now I'm up $23. check out my pay video
So I already do Amazon flex how do I get Amazon truck? Lol
Is like a ADHOC?
Hi bro ..I want to ask did amazon raise pay after a period of time like i am watching your videos does they incrase pay rate or same as when you started ?
19.75
How long you have been working
I’m starting Monday.
you still there?
@@joelbenke9127 hi yes
That's the easiest flex route I've seen any Amazon driver do. When I used to work as a driver at my DSP in Garner, NC Flex routes were insane in stop count. Most flex routes had to be delivered to the Downtown Raleigh area with 80+ stops with 90 packages that were at least 5 minutes apart from each other. Not to mention most flex routes wouldn't be ready until 2 pm at the earliest and my DSP loaded out at 10am. Amazon delivery was fine until I lost my usual route in Clayton and had to do Downtown Raleigh full time lmao.
that usually how it is. I was expecting more but I'm not complaining
Trying to get a ride 😂 5:06
Was debating trying to work for amazon.. i hate my bank job
Stick with your bank job rn amazon is about to have another prime day which means more packages for drivers to deliver too and peak season starts in December which means even more packages for drivers that entire month if you are going to do Amazon wait until January
How many questions you need to pass the exam? Like 37/40 something.
