I work at a liquor store and my FAVORITE thing to say to a unhappy customer is "Well, you get what you get". It makes no sense and just confuses people. Then sometimes they will say "I'm never coming here again" and my reply is "You'll be missed". It's one of those things you can say that can be taken two ways. His comedy is timeless because it was poetic. It wasn't just something topical that only made sense at the time, he really hit on the human condition in his acts. He's up there with Twain as one of the greatest social commentators ever. What a brilliant mind
That's what real comedy is, you just pull material from anything, anyone, and anywhere, and if you're actually talented enough (Carlin, Pryor, Burr, Murphy, Foxx, Mac, etc), your material is virtually endless and has tons of variety! Carlin had this in spades throughout his entire career (RIP).

In all fairness slicing bread is a pain in the ass. You have to basically try to saw it, it mashes down easily as you're cutting it, and slicing it makes a lot of crumbs. That little Outback loaf of bread is a good example.
