      what makes me think is he said "it's not that i dont remember, it was just black"
      it's crazy to me his brain was seemingly doing nothing, but he was still there to experience it. his consciousness was still there, maybe someday we'll find out/prove our consciousness can exist without any brain activity at all. very trippy.

But Jim Jefferies' liberal politics ARE his principles, and that much has always been apparent in his stand-up comedy, from his views on gun control, to gay rights, to Trumpism; The Jim Jeffries Show was just a more straightforward format than stand-up through which for him convey his political leanings. (BTW, The Jim Jefferies Show- like Trevor Noah, Seth Meyers, Amber Ruffin, Samantha Bee, Jordan Klepper, SNL's Weekend Update, and Sacha Baron Cohen's Who is America- was one of the only things maintaining the sanity of the reasonable half of the country for the duration of the Trump era. Here's a big, atheistic God Bless you to Jim Jeffries, and his much appreciated political 2 cents.

It’s St Joseph’s hospital after all. I am not religious but am open to it. (I’ve been wrong once or twice before 😏 lol). Anyway, I coded, 3-4 minutes later they got me back and had put me in a different room. I didn’t see the cross on the wall in front of me and felt uneasy. I looked around the room for it and in that room it was over my bed. Again, I’m not religious, don’t know why I had the urge to find it. Might have just been as simple as looking for something familiar to focus on. (In the room before there was only a shared tv and a cross). I remember nothing from when I was under. That blackness he's talking about I experienced EXACTLY the same thing when I was under anesthesia for a surgery in my 20s. It's hard to explain because it's like you know the blackness is there, you know that you are there, but your brain is just...empty. You're not thinking, "wow, this inky blackness sure is weird. i wonder how long it will last? oh can't forget to put fuel in the car tomorrow. damn this is boring i sure wish this surgery would end so i can stop floating here in this inky blackness." It's more like, you're just not thinking about anything at all. like you're there, but nothing is working including your brain and your imagination. if there is such a thing as a soul/spirit then i think this experience sort of makes sense because the soul/spirit isn't leaving the body, it still is very much connected, but the body isn't doing anything so until the soul/spirit leaves, the only experience will be...inky blackness. it's still a spiritual experience, just one bereft of faculties. What he said about it not being a scary experience is also true. Think about a time when you're in a very zen type of mood and your mind is just sortof emptied from exhaustion from the day. You don't want to talk to anybody. You don't want to think about anything. You just zone out and your brain is at a very low level of activity. Being knocked out from anesthesia or apparently a drug-induced coma is the same thing but even more zen, less activity. So zen and so little activity that there's just inky blackness. That's it. It's like that saying, dying isn't scary it's living (with trauma/pain/misery/etc.) that's scary.

    When Rondo talked about his coma I started thinking about the song "Sound of Silence" with Simon & Garfunkel.
    Must be crazy to exist in total darkness like that.

    Here in Australia, at least state and church are separated. You wanna have your various little book clubs, cool. Stay TF out my way, out of government, education, and healthcare and we cool.

      @@spiderrabbit1556 the universe can’t be eternal because of the second law of thermodynamics. And I just told you that the Creator revealed Himself to us. But you completely ignored it.

    • @spiderrabbit1556
      @spiderrabbit1556 4 місяці тому

      @@m-bassy1155 The second law of thermodynamics assumes the universe is an isolated system. The universe is still vastly unknown. There are examples everywhere in nature of order emerging from chaos. I would not be using thermodynamics as a perfect universal law as it is widely misunderstood and is still being reinterpreted and constantly updated as It is riddled with paradox. It may apply on simple systems but fails when applied to far more complex open systems.
      You also talk about by denying the existence of a god means a belief that rape and murder are not absolutely wrong. Rape and murder exist everywhere in the animal kingdom. We know dolphins rape, monkeys murder etc. the bible is full of rape murder and things such as a woman who fails to marry her rapist should be put to death. This is in the old testament. Did not this god of yours then create rape and murder?
      God has revealed Himself to us is just meaningless words. No he has not revealed anything. What are you talking about?
      It appears to me that you’re just a product of your conditioning. You believe in your god because of your education, genetics, environment etc. of which you cannot control, just as a Hindu is conditioned to believe their gods. If you were born in India do you think you would believe in a Christian god in isolation from your parents and piers. I think not. You would be a Hindu. Do you think a Hindu is any less convinced or passionate in their belief as you in your belief. Possibly what you and others are doing by believing in imaginary gods is hiding from the fear of being completely alone in a meaningless existence. That inevitably sooner or later, one way or another will destroy itself and the entirety of all human and natural existence, history, art, culture and memory will be wiped for all eternity. A scary reality.

    i can relate Rondo.. i was murdered in 2008, dead for 32 hours and came back.. all i saw was blackness BUT while dead someone allowed me to talk to someone 140 miles away from me.. 3 months later when i mentioned that to this person, they thought they had a dream then and remembered every word.. i told that person then “dont worry, i’m coming home”.. woke up in that hospital bed right then, they were unhooking machines to send me to the morgue.. i sat up started talking to the 2 doctors and 5 nurses that were in my room.. the cardiologist couldn’t believe i was talking to them.. 11 days later all was fine except my short term memoty which is gone… i dont understand it all, but it really happened just like that
