      I played exodus 2 and a half years ago and loved it but I didn't get the dlc and 2 days ago the game with dlc was on sale so I got it and with the series x upgrades it looks and feels even better, the difference in the lighting makes it feel even more immersive and atmospheric it really adds to the feeling of being scared and alone. I was looking up some videos about the graphics upgrade and saw your video which only come out on the day I got the game, I'm thinking that maybe you made the video after seeing the sale? But then again I'm sure there has been a ton of sales in the past so maybe not lol. Well I'm going to watch this video and jump straight into the right after😊👍

    For any and all Metro fans, back in August of 22, Dmitry Glukhovsky did confirm that he is working with the studio to create another Metro game, picking up after the good/moral ending of Exodus, although he is not working on another book at the moment.
    -edit: For anyone curious, there were articles about this on gamesradar and gameinformer. Also, despite his “wanted status” by Russia for calling to a stop to the war, after the “law” passed to criminalize any mention of the conflict as a war or invasion, Dmitry luckily is residing outside of Russia.

    One of my favorite things about this game is how realistic the conversations feel in this game. Where you have two npc's talking to each other and they keep going on and on for over 5 minutes long.. they even include you in the conversations if you listen in long enough.

    I think Metro Exodus is one of very few games where Ray Tracing really shines. This game relies on the players flashlight to provide lighting in a lot of dark underground scenes, so lighting cannot be pre-baked. The way the whole room lights up from reflections when you turn on your flashlight in dark environments is truly amazing. And becuase it's realtime, you can really see how moving your headlight effects the whole rooms lighting, making the experience incredibly immersive.

As you go on you discover the dangers of the metro and its quite unfriendly nature. You get a brief look at the state of the metro's sociopolitics But you're not really part of It and you only observe the conflict briefly. You Watch the heavy contrast between the various diferent stations, from the decaying jinxed station to the industrial Armory, or the sophisticated polis. At last, you make the most important decition of your life. You destroy what you believe Is the source of all your station's problems. I’m going to be purchasing this game because of one thing you said. When you said “is this the difficulty that wastes ammo when I reload” my ears perked right up.
    I always thought this was kind of a normie theme park shooter based off of the very impressive graphics and I am so pleasantly surprised to see that it has a more Tarkov leaning gun system.
    Before I buy a shooter, I watch gameplay on UA-cam and as soon as I see incorrect reloading animations (racking the bolt after you reload on a non-empty magazine) I write the game off for good. I was surprised to see Metro got that part right but I never expected a difficultly system where you actually had to manage the rounds in your mags.
    Never played a metro game and I’m going straight to ranger difficulty mode. Wish me luck boys I’m gonna need it.

Even the lack of HUD is substituted by sound cues for throwables. They have thought of everything. I love the first Metro games as much as one can love a computer game, they are amongst my all time favourite FPS. Which really means something, considering that I've played my first FPS 35 years ago. I have 100%-ed or platined them on both PC and PS4, I've played both on Ranger countless times. Exodus though...
    First of all, the controls are... suboptimal. No idea what happened, but they are worse than in the predecessors. Also, I actually hate that you are supposed to not kill anyone, _in a shooter,_ for the good ending. I hated even more that _one_ tiny slip can cost you the good ending, even more so when this slip was not even killing anyone. I spend _so_ much time sneaking around, only knocking out people and then there is this stealth part in the desert level, I get discovered, can't fall back to a savegame, because _of course_ the game has to overwrite my manual save and as the result, I did not get the companion from this level and subsequently miss the good ending. Sure.
    And about immersion, well, this game broke it so often. With NPCs making endless annoying speeches that completely got me out of the game, for instance. With the 'no killing' policy. I get it, Artjom is different and he preserved a humanity others have lost in this cruel world, but when you face completely ruthless bandits who rob, torture and kill defenseless people... you don't just knock them out, so they can get up and exact revenge on the same people you supposedly want to protect. Even more so when you plan to leave this place and those people. Congrats, you've just made life _worse_ for them.
    And how immersive is it that a potential companion will not join you not because you killed everyone, but because you've got discovered in a stupid stealth part? 'Oh, you are just such a terrible ninja, it would be unwise to come with you!', is that it? But the worst parts are the 'we have to care about Anya' parts, which often enough just felt painful. Minutes upon minutes where you are forced to listen to her talking, only interrupted by overlays telling you to fondle her hand. How immersive.
    I can't even count how often I've played the first two games, whereas I will touch Exodus never again. Of course this is just me and my personal taste, but I wonder what this says about this game.

    • @blader127b
      @blader127b Рік тому +2

      There is not a no killing policy, the vast majority of enemies are fair game. All outside of 6 spots. Almost everyone in caspian, all in yamantau and most in the other 2 still. You can kill hundreds, every hostile bandit, slaver, or otherwise.
      You can only not kill the volga cult, slaves, inmocents, the forest children, and the pirates (only AFTER olga asks you not to).

    • @Furzkampfbomber
      @Furzkampfbomber Рік тому

      @@blader127b Thanks for explaining! Well, I still did not kill anyone at all, apart from that one part where you have to fight off hordes of enemies and still did not end up with the perfect ending, because I've made _one_ slip in that stupid stealth section. Would have been still not a problem, _if_ the devs had not decided it is perfectly fine to let the player make manual saves and then... let the game overwrite them.
