Jet engines need air to compress to create thrust. Dense air = powerful engine. liquid Rocket engines use liquid fuel and oxidiser so air density doesn’t matter
Someday I was flying the BF-109 F4, and my whole team was low and got obliterated by P-47s, I just started climbing. I realised that when you go near the end of the map the game throws you back with your plane stabilised and since the engine don't overheat at such height you can just climb at almost 75º with WEP going out of the map, so the game restart you stabilised and you repeat it. I made it 27km before the game ended, was fun.
technically you can space travel with the 163, bc it has something called Rocket Motor so you bring with you propellant and oxidant and it is not an air breathing engine like jet turbine but it hasn't rcs or thrust vetoring so once in space you can't "steer"
The AA-12 (Auto Assault-12), originally designed and known as the Atchisson Assault Shotgun, is an automatic combat shotgun developed in 1972 by Maxwell Atchisson (however, the original development by Atchisson seems to have produced only a few guns at prototype-level, with the development that ultimately lead to the gun entering the market being done later by Military Police Systems, Inc.[5]). The most prominent feature is reduced recoil. The current 2005 version has been developed over 18 years since the patent was sold to Military Police Systems, Inc. The original design was the basis of several later weapons, including the USAS-12 combat shotgun. The shotgun fires in fully automatic mode only. However, the relatively low cyclic rate of fire of around 300 rounds per minute enables the shooter to fire semi-automatically de facto with brief trigger pulls. It is fed from either an 8-shell box magazine or a 20-shell drum magazine
I think Gaijin should add space fighters. To just make it a whole fictional setting up in space, and if you go down by getting shot at, you burn up in the atmosphere.
Kinda weird that me163 broke. At that height I'd assume air resistance is lower, to the point it would not tear a wing off. Maybe it's just war thunder physics breaking at that altitude bc nobody ever goes there.
Scary to think that a jet so powerful could so easily house a pilot without a suit to protect them lol. Pretty sure F-104 is capable of like 100,000 ft in a controlled climb before it just can't anymore, and you have to nose down.
