    If you're worried about looking like an idiot at the gym, you're at the gym for the wrong reasons. We're all idiots when we go to the gym. We're lifting things and then putting them down.

      Amen. The moment we start worrying about how we look is the moment we stop worrying about how we're performing. If you want to look good everywhere else you are going to have to be prepared to look ridiculous in the gym. That's the tradeoff.

  • @ricksterdrummer2170
    @ricksterdrummer2170 5 років тому +4

    I’ve been doing isometric flexing between sets for EVERY exercise with EVERY muscle group for the last week. The difference is insane! I’ve always had weak legs, but I can literally feel my thighs grow now.

    +Jason Wittrock Man, that was hard!!! Feel like my chest is torn up. I've always got problem with chest. After workout I haven't felt that chest is the only exhausted muscle. Shoulders and arms was pumped as well and it was pretty annoying. But after today only pain I feel is in the chest only. Thanks a lot :)

  • @ivareskesner2019
    @ivareskesner2019 5 років тому +2

    Amen, bro. I've been doing after-set isometrics for years. Never seen anyone else do it. Only I don't do the reps like you. Instead I apply a continuous squeeze for 1 full minute after each set and I do this with all exercises, not just chest ones.

    I really like the way this guy describes how to perform the lifts. Others talk about mind-muscle connection but the way Jason describes it for each exercise is much more clear. Second exercise he says "calibrate the mind, we've shifted the target" as the reason for the warmup set. Brilliant. I've never thought of it that way. Pumped to hit this tomorrow (pun intended).

    • @JasonWittrock
      @JasonWittrock 8 років тому +1

      +Vasilis Kyriakidis Do you mean in weight or how high you are sitting on the machine? If you are sitting too low on the machine it will stimulate too much shoulders and take the tension off the chest. Keep adjusting the seat up until you feel it most in your chest. Hope that answers your question

    • @vasiliskyriakidis237
      @vasiliskyriakidis237 8 років тому

    Having the mind muscle connection is very important. You always want the main focus on the muscle that your targeting. I love cable fly's and the many variations of them. A lot of people skip that exercise. Good video. Hey guys, i'm new to UA-cam and live for fitness. It would be much appreciated if you checked out my channel. I do meal prep, supplement reviews and informational/motivational videos. Thanks bros!

    This isn't a good way to train at all. A "chest" day that has a shit ton of volume that's likely only performed once a week isn't optimal at all for the vast majority of lifter (read, those not on cell tech). Not to mention training to failure which in most cases is a no no. Of course you probably already know this. Oh well, carry on.

    • @DawgFL
      @DawgFL 8 років тому +5

      +MrHav1k maybe not for you, but there's plenty of natty people who could do this twice a week no problem.

    • @abeladam5997
      @abeladam5997 8 років тому +1

      +DawgFL It wouldnt be optimal though. Frequency trumps volume if you are natty.

    • @Purtonen
      @Purtonen 8 років тому +2

      +DawgFL Being able to do something doesn't mean it's good for you and your gains. I can easily train every single day without rest and hit the gym hard and go to failure on everything but that won't get me anywhere since my nervous system will fry the fuck out in a week or two and i'll just be killing my muscles without any profit

    • @nemanjavajagic8703

    • @raulmartinezv6500
      @raulmartinezv6500 8 років тому

      +MrHav1k I once trained like this, having a chest day, a back day, an arms day, etc...the problem with is is that you only train that body part once a week, and it is not optimal for natural gym enthusiasts like me. Nowadays I have an upper body training routine I do 3 times a week and a lower body routine I do twice a week. Training like this allows more muscle trauma frequency.

    Really wish I can workout my chest like this. Unfortunately I have uneven symmetry. For the past months I been training only my left pec since it's less fuller than my right. My right pec for instance is so full just doing push ups with cause it to blow up and feel sore easily. Grow easily as well! My left pec needs catching up.

    • @BaronBrownB
      @BaronBrownB 8 років тому +1

      +Happening Productions i think like i must to respond to your message... You aren't alone. My problem is a little bit different, after serious trauma, my left leg's calf can't get muscles at all and right leg's calf become overpowered and looks huge, no matter how hard i was trying, they are different, and it is visually very noticeable. If people staring to my calf, i feel very embarrassed.
      After 2 years of working out, i got 0 results on my left calf (the body shape in great condition, only left calf is weak), but last year, he finally started to grow, just a few cm, but i'm very happy. I hope one day they will be the same as they were before trauma. If your condition not so serious as mine, be sure that your efforts will get result that you desire 100% sure.

      How much you do with separate push in a machine? Or with dumbells. Better to train with flies, or peck-deck one side. If you train left, your triceps will be trained also and not the same as right

    • @ramzevans
      @ramzevans 8 років тому +10

      +Josh Taylor Depends on who you are. I find my best results come from complete destruction followed by eating clean but a hell of a lot of food, say around 5-6 large size meals a day.

    • @HenchPig
      @HenchPig 8 років тому +6

      ramzevans Well you would get better results doing fullbody guarantee'd

    • @ramzevans
      @ramzevans 8 років тому +2

      Josh Taylor you can't guarantee that. I was born with a different ratio of red to white fibre than you. Some are Cheetah (white), some are gazelle (red), some are a balanced mix of red and white. It's quite counterproductive to assume something of another person and the response they get from full body vs individual body part workouts. The body of a natural athlete needs a longer time to recover too. So if you destroy one body part, then wait a week and train it again, you may end up stimulating the same level of growth as someone moderately beating up the body part, but just every other day.

    • @nexus0803
      @nexus0803 8 років тому +7

      ramzevans Oh, come on, dude. How do even know how many red/white fibre do you have? All of this different fibre theory is just bro science and marketing. I wont even explain why, there are tons of arguments and info on forums, but my english skills aren't really good. And why the hell would you "destroy" your bodyparts? That's just stupid, dude. Waste of time/health, and for what? To look "good"? I dont train to failure for years now and my results (and tons of my friends) are better than ever. "Destroying" your muscle is just a terrible idea. Lets say you do 3 excercises for chest on chest day, why couldnt you split those 3 excercise for 3 days, 1 day 1 excercise, other day 2nd etc. Can you explain what's the difference for the body? I can. It will fully recover from just few sets of 1 excercise in like lets say 48 hours and you are ready for the next one with fresh energy. It's way more efficient and less "pressure" for nervous system. Few easy sets, few excercises and you are done for today :) Tons of people made way more progress doing this full body no failure, instead of destroying their muscle and using bro splits. Thats my experience after 15+ years in sports. My english kinda sucks, but hope you will understand what i was trying to say. Cheers.

      He means go to failure but the weight that u r using is for 10 - 12 reps. If you get those 12 reps, then try 13, 14, 15, as many as you can and then next time you do a 10 - 12 rep set you pick a slightly heavier weight but insure good form. I love training to failure on pretty much every set of every workout that I do
